In the circus tent.
"Who do you think you are, boy?"
A noble stood up and barked at Siderius. He wore high-grade fur clothes with a giant golden necklace on his neck.
The audience gasped. Some admired him for his bravery. Some was just excited to see what he was going to do.
Siderius glanced at the noble in expensive clothes.
"I do not wish to spill innocent blood today. Keep your mouth shut and get out of here," he said plainly.
Smoke came out of the noble's ears and his face turned red. "How dare you speak to me like that? I am Alamut Devonian, noble of Bridgetown. Address me properly."
Ashe raised her arrow at the noble. "My master has told you to shut up. If you value your life, you need to shut up."
"Master? So you are his slave then? Nowadays, even a slave dares to talk to me like that?"
"I am not a slave! You fucking piece of turd." Ashe pulled the bowstring but Siderius grabbed her wrist and lowered it down.
"Master?"
Siderius shook his head then stepped forward to the audience. Everyone scattered away, leaving only the noble standing by himself.
He sweated profusely, looking around for any allies. But none was that stupid. They clearly saw what he wasn't able to comprehend. They saw that the white hair man in front of him was not to be trifled with.
However, the noble still thought that Siderius wouldn't do anything. After all, he was a noble of Eldoria. He was protected under the Royal Court and the Coven of Supreme Witches.
"What do you think you're doing?" The noble still tried to speak.
Siderius shook his head. He flipped the fire switch of his scabbard and pulled out the Blazing Soul. Fire engulfed the blade and enveloped the unnamed noble.
He fell to the ground, burning like a piece of meat.
Siderius sheathed his blade with a click. Everything happened within a blink of an eye. The draw of the sword and the death of the noble.
Everyone could only see the stroke of flame being drawn by the blade and then it disappeared.
"Murderer!"
"Run, everyone, run!"
The high class finally understood the danger that was present. They ran for their lives.
Kraus grabbed his club and looked at the thugs. He intended to order the thugs to round up the nobles. But Siderius suddenly raised his hand.
"Leave them."
"Yes, my lord!"
It was at this time that Geolark and Billy dragged the tied up Thane into the circus tent. They kicked him from behind, forcing him to roll on the ground a few times.
He was covered in horseshit and mud. No longer recognizable as the Goodman Thane, or the wealthy circus owner Beaumort. He was simply exactly what he was at the core.
A human being that was in deep shit.
Siderius stood in front Thane. He looked down at him. His gaze was indifferent, cold and void of emotions.
"Hello, Master Beaumort." Siderius said sarcastically.
Thane looked up and saw the face of the boy. Everything made sense instantly. His hunch was right, someone was coming for him.
"Snow... My boy." Thane tried to express the most friendly smile as possible.
Siderius took out his assassin's knife and pulled some salt over it.
Thane's lips trembled to form words.
"Please, my boy. I'll tell you everything! There is no need to take out the knife!"
Siderius didn't answer. He plunged the knife into Thane's right knee. The man squealed like a pig and squirmed like a worm.
"Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!"
Thane roared.
"Please, my boy. No! Please Master Snow! Please forgive me! I only did what Germort told me! What Lyara told me!"
Siderius shook his head. He twisted the knife that was still inside Thane's knee. His kneecap popped open.
Thane bit into his lips. Blood leaked out.
"Argh! No! Please! Argh! Please spare me! I will do anything. I will do everything. Please spare me."
Siderius shook his head again. He destroyed the other kneecap of Thane, causing him to writhe in the world of pain.
The circus owner laid motionless on the ground, covered in dirt, blood and his own urine. He silently cried.
"Please... Spare me... I'll.. do anything."
Siderius wiped his knife and tucked its away.
"Germort told me you know who the assassin was. I want to know his identity."
"Spare me... And I'll tell you..."
Siderius shook his head again.
"I don't need you to tell me."
The hunter turned to the thugs. "Guard this place. Do not allow anyone to come in."
"Yes, my lord!" Kraus shouted. He led the thugs outside.
Siderius then turned to Ashe. "Guard the entrance. Make sure no one will come inside. Including Kraus and his men."
"Yes, Master!" Ashe went away, leaving Siderius alone with the Thane Beaumort.
"What... What will you do to me..." Thane said. His breathless tone was barely able to form words.
"Just making sure you won't lie to me."
Siderius broke all Thane's limbs then drew an alchemical seal on Thane's forehead. He was using Alchemy Palace again to infiltrate into Thane's mind.
The circus wasn't a safe place so Siderius didn't dive too deep into Thane's mind. He quickly skimmed over his memory and went to the important part.
As Siderius had anticipated, Thane cooperated with Lyara and Germort to weave a web of trap for Snow. But the boy didn't fall into it.
Then Siderius saw the assassin. Or more precisely, the assassins.
Thane knew of a hidden organization called Shadow Blade from his days of being a slaver. This was an assassin guild that took killing contract in exchange for coins and favors. Thane didn't knew who exactly the assassin that killed River was because he simply bought her life with coins. The rest was arranged by the guild.
Thane contacted Shadow Blade instead of doing everything himself because the guild was professional. They always finished their job with little traces left behind.
To make sure Snow was framed for a crime he did not commit, he had planned for everything.
And the guild did not disappoint him. The assassin used the only blade Snow had at the time to kill River. A blade that was gifted by a merchant to Snow. No one saw the assassin and the arranged witness appeared just in time.
Everything was perfect. The plan was perfect. But Snow's spirit didn't yield.
When Siderius opened his eyes again, Thane was still delirious because of the effect of the seal. He walked out of the circus tent.
Kraus and the thugs bowed down in front of him.
"High Lord!"
Siderius nodded. "Drag Thane to the town square and burn him with Gemma. I want to watch."
