Transmigrated as An Extra In My Novel's First Draft

Chapter 49: Dungeon Exploration [3]

Brushing my hand off his shirt, Leo looked backward and simply gazed at me for a moment before turning back to face the bull.

Since there was only one enemy, unlike with the thousands of dark fairies with Haerin, there was no need for me to...really do anything.

My job was just to stay attached to Leo, stepping in whenever he was caught off guard, allowing him to attack the bull without any fear.

Yanking its head out of the wall, causing the entire coliseum to shake, on the brink of collapse, the minatour turned to face us, its pupils trembling uncontrollably.

At that moment, my mind began buzzing uncontrollably, burning as if it had been dunked in lava.

Then...a line appeared, and another and another, until thousands covered my vision.

My mind froze as the entire coliseum was lit up in a light blue by the holographic lines.

There was no axe in the minatour's hands...yet I could still see lines.

I could feel it...my knowledge growing, or rather...being recalled.

Formulas I had written to calculate the motion of demonic beasts within my book, long forgotten in my mind, suddenly reappeared.

I was only supposed to see lines stretching from "objects," as mentioned specifically in my trait, yet the bull was holding no weapons.

Every line started from the minatour's head and ended at some different point on the coliseum wall.

Did my brain consider the beast an object?

Not even giving me a moment to think, the minatour rushed forward at an incredible speed, almost triple its previous, at Leo and me standing in the middle of the platform.

My brain moved at light speed, calculating the bull's velocity and angle of direction with the formulas before matching it with one of the thousands of holographic lines shining around me.

Finding the exact line the bull was tracing, I grabbed Leo's shoulders, holding him perfectly still...before leaping into the air.

As expected, the bull suddenly shifted and headed at us from a different angle, trying to predict our dodge.

If we had moved at all to the right, we would have been caught perfectly in its crosshairs.

Looking at the line the bull was following, I took a deep breath...before sprinting right at it, the line hitting my stomach perfectly.

But, at that moment, on its way to me, the bull passed through the lowered part of the ground, caused by its earlier stomping.

Raising my sword to the sky, I leaped into the air, now directly above the holographic line.

And, perfectly, as I descended, the crouching bull, running head-first, appeared right under me.

In the air, with my feet slightly above the brown fur of the minatour's head, my body continued flying through the air in a perfect arc.

I simply raised my sword horizontally in front of me.

And, it came to me.

As the bull continued forward, its left and unharmed horn, covered in a shaky and easily penetrable blue hue, appeared right in front of me.

I didn't even have to move; a moment later, the horn directly met my sword as the bull moved forward, and I moved in the air.

As I sliced through the horn, my body continued forward through the air, landing right behind the charging bull.

I landed stomach-first onto the lowered part of the ground, instantly feeling a surging pain rush through my body as blood poured out of my mouth and onto the stone-brick platform.

Raising my head with the last of my energy, I saw Leo, standing still, his blood-red sword embedded right in the minotaur's chest.

As Leo removed his sword, the minatour's corpse lifelessly fell to the right, sending one last earthquake through the ground.

It was over.

Looking down at my two trembling hands, I paused and looked up.

Rooted in ancient Taoist philosophy, this art transforms combat into a flowing dance, where every step evades danger and turns defense into seamless counterattack. With movements as fluid and unpredictable as water, the user seems untouchable.

-----------

I-i did it!

Finally, after endless hours of practicing swordmanship, I had reached level 3 and finally received a gifted ability.

Nodding my head as I read the ability description, I slowly stood up, barely able to breathe, my stomach groaning in agony.

Basically, the more I dodged, the faster I grew, making it only easier for me to...dodge.

With my footwork already able to create perfect counters to dodge attacks, my gifted ability seemed rather perfect.

Of course...the stat decrease was rather worrisome.

If I were hit, I would already be hurt and on the defense, and with my stats decreased, how was I supposed to defend?

After a moment, I also reread my innate ability's description with a dumbfounded expression.

How was I able...to see the lines predicting the minatour's head?

Snapping me back to reality, a familiar voice sounded from above me as Leo's figure came into view, looking down at my body.

"Are you alright down there!?"

Looking up, dispersing the purple screen before me, I staggered forward and nodded my head.

"I'm doing alright...But I wonder how those girls are doing without you."
