Everyone turned toward the throne where the Orc King was clapping with a sickening smile.
"Very well," its deep voice rumbled. "It seems now it's time for the king to step up. KRURRHHH!"
Its lips pulled back into a gruesome smile.
Rows of sharp fangs glistened in the torchlight. It rose from the stone throne, casting a long shadow that stretched across the floor.
On one hand, it grabbed a massive greatsword while it's other hand crushed the armrest.
Ethan's eyes widened. His breath caught in his throat.
"What the fuck…" His voice cracked in disbelief
The creature's height was nearly double that of its minions. Its sheer bulk made the ground tremble with each step.
Haro and Randall swallowed hard. The sound of their throats gulping echoed faintly in the tense silence.
"Take potions," Ethan ordered. His voice was sharp, cutting through the fear awaking them
Everyone fumbled at their belts, grabbing glass vials.
Gulp. Gulp.
The sound of liquid being swallowed filled the air.
Ethan clenched his jaw as he felt the potion burn down his throat. His muscles tingled. "One fifth…" he muttered to himself.
"That puts me at two thirds strength at best." His frown deepened. It was not enough.
The Orc King suddenly moved.
It took one heavy step and then it bent its legs.
What happened enough was enough to leave anyone traumatized.
With a roar, it leapt.
At first they thought that the monster would just jump down the platforms.
But…
A massive shadow fell over them. The air itself seemed to shatter as the monster came down like a boulder from the sky.
"What the fuckkkkk!"Haro screamed..
"Dodge!" Ethan roared.
Everyone threw themselves aside.
But Irida's legs froze. Her staff shook in her hands. She looked up and saw the huge body descending. Her heart hammered almost reaching her throat.
In the next moment,a loud bang erupted.
She could not move.
Her breath stopped when a hard force slammed into her. She was thrown across the ground, as her body dragged by someone's grip.
BOOOOM!
The Orc King crashed down. The ground split. A shockwave ripped through the chamber, blasting smoke and debris in every direction.
Ethan's figure slid across the floor with his arms wrapped around Irida. His boots dug furrows into the stone.
Irida's pale face turned toward him. His cold, sharp features stared down at her. His eyes were calm, but hard.
"Are you alright?" His voice was low.
She opened her mouth, stuttering. "Ye… yeah."
Ethan let go of her and stood tall again. "Stay far. Keep your guard up. We need your best."
Irida gripped her staff tighter. Her fingers trembled.
Haro's voice broke the silence. "How the hell did it jump like that? With that body?" He screamed as he yanked an arrow from his quiver.
His hands shook as he fitted it to his bow.
But before he could fire, the Orc King turned its gaze to him with a smile that can only be described as brutal.
Its eyes glowed with crimson hate.
Haro froze.
A stabbing pain shot through his skull and his vision warped. The eyes bled red. His bow slipped in his grip.
His chest heaved, but he could not breathe. The world twisted and pressed down on him like a nightmare.
He heard a scream.
"Knock it off, for God's sake!"
The sound cut through the haze like a blade. His mind snapped back. He gasped, shaking as the crimson vision cleared.
He blinked and saw the Orc King charging toward him. Its footsteps crushed stone. The ground shook under its weight.
"You will be first," the Orc spat.
The massive greatsword rose high. Its edge gleamed with deadly weight. It came down with terrifying speed.
Haro's heart stopped. He could not even lift his bow.
But before the blade could land, another figure appeared.
CLANG!
Joel's sword intercepted the strike. The sound of steel crashing against steel rang through the chamber.
Sparks burst in the air.
The shock of the impact pushed him back. His boots screeched against the stone floor as he held his stance.
The Orc King loomed over him, towering and monstrous. Its breath smelled of blood and ash. Its fangs gleamed under the torchlight.
The clash shook the chamber. Joel gritted his teeth as the Orc King pressed down on him with its giant blade. The weight was crushing. His arms shook as he tried to hold. His boots cracked the stone beneath him.
"Move!" Ethan roared, charging in from the side. His greatsword swung, slamming against the monsters who took the entire strike with his body
The strike echoed with a dull thud. The Orc King grunted but did not stumble. It turned its head toward Ethan with a wicked grin.
Ethan's face tensed. His sword should have cut deep, but it barely scratched.
Just as he was about to move.
"GRRRR!"
A kick whipped with a terrific speed slammed on its chest that sent him flying like a rag doll.
Ethan's figure slammed onto the ground then bounced over it for a few times before rolling over the floor spurting blood.
Ryu sprinted on all fours. Her beast-like body blurred across the floor. With a growl, she leapt onto the Orc King's back and swung her sword down with both hands. The steel slashed across its shoulder, spilling dark blood.
The Orc King snarled. With one massive arm, it reached back, grabbed her by the waist, and hurled her like a doll.
"AArghhhh!"
She slammed against the stone wall with a crack and coughed blood. Her sword clattered on the ground.
Lorddd!" Randall shouted, charging in. His blade sliced across the Orc King's thigh. He pressed forward with desperate strikes, hacking and slashing.
Sparks flew with each clash.
The Orc King looked down at him with disdain. Its greatsword came down in a brutal arc. Randall blocked, but the impact sent him flying. His sword bent under the weight. He rolled across the ground, groaning in pain, clutching his arm.
