Idol Revive: If I Don't Debut, I'll Disappear

Chapter 285: Special Student

'Right. Maybe I should try to find a page to help soothe his nerves.'

For Yeo Haru, Rayen was willing to spend a bit of his savings. Aside from feeling sympathetic toward the kid, he also wanted to get rid of the nightmares as fast as he could.

The students sat down, casting curious glances at Yeo Haru's stiff figure beside the teacher. The class also noticed Rayen's figure from outside the door from the way Yeo Haru kept looking from the corner of his eyes from time to time.

The corners of Rayen's mouth twitched.

'Stop looking at me!'

Right now, Yeo Haru seemed like a kid getting dropped off at school by his parents. Though the first part of it was true, at least he should save himself some face.

Sigh.

"This is Yeo Haru," the teacher announced. "He's gonna be your classmate. Take care of him."

Immediately, the entire class descended into chatter.

"Yeo Haru!"

"Who's that?"

"Xu Jiji's co-member, duh."

"Oh."

"Rayen is also outside wearing our school uniform!"

"Is he going to be our classmate too?"

Since he was already spotted, Rayen just casually tried to peek inside, spotting Xu Jiji sitting at the front. Some of the students wore excited smiles and turned to Xu Jiji, while some were just curiously observing the newcomers.

"Jiji, introduce us later to them!"

"Jiji, jiji! Can you tell them I want to get an autograph?"

A bunch of requests and questions overwhelmed Xu Jiji, ignoring Mr. Min in front. It seemed Xu Jiji was quite popular with his classmates.

"Silence," Mr. Min yelled.

But no one noticed him. Watching this, Rayen was starting to feel bad for him.

The teacher clapped his hands to gather everyone's attention again. The students continued to bother Xu Jiji, shaking him by the shoulder.

Various reactions came from each student. However, there were also some who reacted unlike the enthusiastic ones.

"Tsk, what's good about them? They're just like us," one of the students in the back row said.

"How pathetic. Why are they swarming over some rookie idol? Don't they have any shame?" another said by his side.

The two laughed. "Right? Right? It's just a rookie."

"Of course, they will swarm over there. They're all failures who can't even pass any of the Big Four's audition."

The girls in front heard it and glanced back at them with sharp eyes.

"Yeah, you're an A-list celebrity now! Can you please tell us if you even landed your audition on Aurora?" one of the girls said to the first one who spoke.

Aurora couldn't be said as a big company, but it was still decent. They've produced idols who could be considered 2nd-rate, a group known to exist, but with faceless members to the public. It was about the same level as Aboveworld, ALTAIR's agency.

"....."

"What about you?" The girl then turned toward the other guy. "Didn't you get eliminated on Dream Boys in the first round?"

"....." Getting poked at his wounds made him gnash his teeth.

The girl rolled her eyes. "Wanna-be idols really have something to say. Such a loser."

Wanna-be Idol No. 1 fought back. "Just because you got that lame feature on that ice cream commercial—"

"Yes, I landed that commercial because I'm great, unlike you guys. That's why I have the guts to cut you off. Got any problem with that?"

Soon, sparks flew in the air.

"Enough."

Once again, the teacher tried to get everyone's attention. However, it didn't work at all. No matter what he did to try and get the students' attention, no one turned their heads back to him.

Listening from the door, Rayen's head was already throbbing.

"Um..." Xu Jiji raised his hand.

Finally, the spark that seemed to be brewing in the air was stunted. Everyone turned toward Xu Jiji.

"Let's not fight? I'll introduce everyone later..."

Immediately, the atmosphere changed.

"Thank you, Jiji!"

"You're the best, Jiji!"

"I can now boast as SEEDZ's schoolmate!"

"Let's listen to the teacher," Xu Jiji said.

Meanwhile, Rayen and Mr. Min both heaved a sigh.

'Why was he even here?'

Rayen glanced at the plain-looking teacher inside the classroom with a sympathetic gaze.

Not only did Mr. Min have a very average build and looks, but his aura seemed to be even invisible. Although he had a funny name that might have earned the interest of some bullies, with that kind of presence, the bullies might not even notice him.

No wonder his parents were in denial.

Meanwhile, his students... Most of them had striking appearances, each having their own unique presence. Once the entire class clashed, it wasn't unusual for him to be overlooked.

Mr. Min turned to Yeo Haru. "Please go on and take the empty seat beside Xu Jiji."

One last time, Yeo Haru sneaked a peek toward Rayen. He nodded at Yeo Haru to assure him.

Finally, Yeo Haru trotted toward the empty seat beside Xu Jiji, his every step stiff.

"Go and spend your homeroom class in peace. I'll just escort the other student to his classroom."

The reaction of the class was divided into three.

"Eh? He isn't going to be our classmate?" Some complained.

"Tsk." Some others also complained, but for another reason.

The rest were indifferent and went back to their own worlds.

This time, it was Mr. Min's turn to ignore the students. He walked out of the classroom, not even sparing them a glance.

Rayen chuckled wryly in his mind.

The two walked in the hallway, finally reaching the 12th-grade area. As they reached class B, Mr. Min stopped and turned to Rayen.

"This is Ms. Jin's class."

Rayen nodded.

Mr. Min knocked on the door. After a few seconds, the door slid open, revealing a woman with bright round eyes. However, when she looked outside, instead of looking at Mr. Min, who was literally right in front of her, she looked directly at Rayen.

"Oh, you're the special student?"

Mr. Min only stepped aside after getting ignored.

Rayen glanced at Mr. Min briefly before nodding. "Yes..."

"I'm sorry I didn't wait for you. There were some troubles in the class earlier. Come, I'll introduce you."

Once again, Rayen nodded. Mr. Min was thoroughly ignored, crushed in the corner.

"Thank you, Mr. Min..."

Mr. Min nodded with a slight pout and then turned back to the 11th-grade area.

When Ms. Jin came back in front of the class, Rayen was following behind her. Ms. Jin then turned to the blackboard to write Rayen's name.

"This is Im Rayen," she said, introducing him. "He'll be your classmate for a month until the founding festival."

Rayen, a 25-year-old pretending to be a 20-year-old, stared at his 18-year-old classmates.

'I can't believe I'm going to be classmates with kids again.'

For all Rayen knew, he was already 25 years old. Being put in the same environment as these kids truly hurt Rayen's liver.

'After painstakingly studying hard and being able to graduate, I still have to attend high school again.'

What a twist of fate.
