There was only silence.
Even after Xu Jiji came down, Yeo Haru hadn't responded to Rayen at all. Rayen looked at Xu Jiji with an inquiring look, who only replied with a shrug of his shoulders.
The corners of Rayen's lips twitched.
After waiting for a few more moments without getting any response, Rayen went back inside to take a look.
The scene that greeted him was Yeo Haru's face, which was as pale as a white sheet. With his back hunched, he sulked in the corner like a puppy whose mom abandoned him.
His uniform was creased with wrinkles from his earlier struggles when Rayen dragged him out of their dorm toward this van.
"You still won't come out?"
Yeo Haru slowly raised his head to look at Rayen blankly. The two stared at each other.
'... Why do I feel like a horrible person now?'
Rayen's heart felt stifled.
This feeling lasted for a short moment, though. After a sigh, Rayen grabbed Yeo Haru with his tie.
"Go down. We're gonna be late!"
Yeo Haru's entire body was limp and lifeless, so Rayen was able to easily drag him outside.
As the sun hit his lashes, Yeo Haru blinked. He raised his hand to cover his eyes from the sun's glare.
"Are you awake now?"
Yeo Haru still blankly stared at him.
Sigh.
"Come, come. We're gonna be late."
Just as before, Rayen dragged him by his necktie, much like a dog on a leash.
What a shameful disgrace!
Behind them, Xu Jiji walked a few meters away from them, his face definitely saying that he wasn't acquainted with them. However, it was all for naught as Rayen looked back and addressed him.
"Why are you walking so far?"
"....."
'I'm saving my face!'
Xu Jiji bowed his head and ran after the two of them. Fortunately, he was able to separate himself from them because they still needed to go to the faculty room. Xu Jiji immediately ran away, heading directly to his own classroom.
It was Yeo Haru's fault that they were getting delayed.
Because this guy refused to go to school for over a month after he was enrolled, the teacher asked for his presence in the faculty when he heard from Xu Jiji that they would be coming to school at last.
With a knock, the two entered the classroom.
Dozens of eyes immediately landed on them, which made Yeo Haru stiffen.
The teachers all stared at Rayen oddly, particularly at how he was holding Yeo Haru by the cuff of his neck.
What's up with that posture?
Rayen sensed their judgmental gazes and immediately let go of Yeo Haru. Stepping back, Yeo Haru hid himself behind Rayen like a child who was afraid of strangers.
'Don't you love the attention?'
One of the teachers finally addressed them. "Do you have any business here?"
Rayen glanced at the teacher who addressed them.
"Is Mr. Min Min Ho here?"
"Mr. Min, students are looking for you."
As soon as her voice echoed throughout the whole room, a head popped out from one of the cubicles at the end of the room.
The owner of that head was a middle-aged man. Average height, forgettable face, with nothing striking at all.
Considering how his parents named him Min Ho...
Rayen knew a famous Korean actor with the same name. So, naming their child this way… It was as if they couldn't accept their child being this non-striking at all and gave him this name at all cost.
If it was Rayen getting named this way, he would have flipped the table!
Mr. Min's black eyes stared at Rayen for a moment before he finally recognized one of them. He stood up and trotted toward the two.
"Ah, you're Haru and..."
Rayen smiled and introduced himself. "Im Rayen."
"Oh..."
His face said he didn't know Rayen at all.
Rayen laughed dryly. "I'm a special student. I just escorted Haru here to make sure he's gonna attend school safely."
Mr. Min finally nodded in understanding.
"Oh, I've heard about that. Then you should be Ms. Jin's student."
Rayen nodded.
"Ms. Jin already went to your class. I'll just guide you there."
"Thank you."
Mr. Min turned to Yeo Haru.
"Is he fine? He looks pale. Does he need to go to the infirmary?"
Rayen also glanced back at Yeo Haru, sighed, and patted his shoulder. "I think he's just nervous and needs to calm down."
Yeo Haru immediately straightened his back. "I-I'm fine!"
'Oh, so he could speak now?'
"Why did you not come to school for a month?" Mr. Min inquired.
"....." Yeo Haru stepped back behind Rayen.
Rayen: "....."
Mr. Min: "....."
'Where's your backbone?'
Mr. Min tried to look at Yeo Haru, but Haru only stepped back a few more times to hide from his gaze.
"I think I understand now." Mr. Min sighed. "Then, let's go to the classroom to introduce you to the students."
Rayen nodded. Immediately, the three people left the faculty room and threaded the building's corridor to head to class. Once they reached the room for 11th grade, class A, the teacher stopped before the door.
From outside, the chatter of the students reached their ears. Even when Mr. Min slid the door open and stepped into the podium in front of them, the chatter didn't die down. No one seemed to have noticed his arrival at all.
From outside the door, Rayen watched him as he tried to get the students' attention for naught.
'How long do we have to stand here and wait?'
Rayen turned to Yeo Haru and had an idea.
Suddenly, Yeo Haru was pushed inside the room. Once he appeared from the door, the students' chatter died down. All eyes turned toward the newcomer.
Then, they finally noticed the presence of the teacher in front of them.
"S-Stand up!" one of the students frantically instructed.
On cue, the whole class stood up and greeted them.
"Good morning. You can sit down now," Mr. Min said, glancing gratefully toward Rayen.
Meanwhile, Yeo Haru's figure remained at the same place. He glanced at Rayen from outside the door, pleading for help.
Rayen only cheered at him silently.
