From Slave to King: My Rebate System Built Me a Kingdom With Beauties!

Chapter 82: The Dwarves.

Murkfang was losing hope. He didn't know how much longer he could survive in this state because he didn't even have food to eat.

There was no way he could survive out here because these humans were a lot smarter than him, for one, so it made it very hard for him to steal.

Murkfang realized the paint was coming off as well. There was no way his true self wouldn't show, but there was something common in this kingdom.

The carriages went out every day at set times, so he had to find a way to jump in one of those carriages to help his escape.

After all, there would be no need to check the back of a carriage because these soldiers knew each other well. They had been doing the same routine every day for years.

Murkfang also noticed one thing—or rather, a name.

It felt like a chant, and Murkfang had no idea what it meant or how to say it.

Still, it was King Theron IV of Elandor.

Murkfang heard this name a lot, even though he could barely understand what came after.

Whoever or whatever this was, Murkfang couldn't figure it out.

He was lost in thought until the creak of the gates pulled him back to the moment.

It was the carriage, as usual, and Murkfang was shaking in the cold despite his thick skin.

-

A man walked into his room, completely naked. A woman lay covered in his bed.

"You don't seem bothered about the goblin that escaped," the woman muttered, but the man brushed it off.

"A goblin? It is like a stray dog escaping. It will be found soon enough," the man said.

This was none other than the head of security in Elandor. He was one of the most powerful people in this place.

The lady in his bed was blonde, but she was small. Her breasts were tiny with perky nipples.

"You don't worry about much, do you?" the lady asked, but the man rolled his eyes.

He was in his mid-thirties, and the fact that someone this young held this job was proof of his skill.

"There is nothing to worry about. Elandor is the most powerful kingdom in the world, and no one is foolish enough to cause trouble in it," the man said as he wiped himself down.

It was clear they had just had sex, and the man was already getting ready to leave.

"You know you can spend the day with me, don't you?" the lady offered, but the man chuckled.

"A woman truly is a dangerous creation," the man said with a broad smile. He ran his hand through his hair.

The gel turned his brown hair into a slicked-back style, and the man was on his way to keep up with his duties.

He had men at the door because he was weakest at this time, but this lady wasn't just anyone either.

"Any reports on the goblin?" the High General asked the guard who had been at the door moments ago.

"No, sir Rodell. There has been no word about it," the guard answered, but Rodell didn't seem bothered by this news.

"I see. Bring it to me when you find it," Rodell said. This showed they didn't even think goblins deserved any rights, or they wouldn't talk about them this way.

"Loosen the security and put a guard at the gate, but make sure he is out of sight," Rodell said. He knew this simple plan would be enough to catch the goblin because they weren't the smartest.

Murkfang was desperate to escape right now and would take any chance he could see to make it happen.

Rodell gave the orders, and this guard would then track him to wherever he was going because they were sure he wouldn't pass through the land the orcs controlled.

What if he wasn't alone, even though the chances were slim?

Rodell knew there was a chance the orcs had a hand in this because there was no way a goblin just walked into their path to be captured when he should have been avoiding them.

Drekk gave the humans free power to do with the goblins as they pleased when they tried to cross him.

This was one way of stopping bad talk from spreading because if the rumors could be stopped early, it would do them more good than harm.

Rodell was a famous soldier, but he didn't see the orcs or goblins as threats. They could easily wipe them off the face of the earth if they wanted because there was no way they could stand against their advanced weapons.

They allowed their sad lives for a single reason: to keep the natural order and balance of things because each race had a purpose in the big picture.

Rodell was worried about something else entirely, and these were the dwarves.

They were as small as the goblins, but their smarts even beat that of most humans.

They were clever, and some of the things they had made were thought to be magic.

The dwarves not only had tools that matched theirs but they were in business with the elves.

The elves were the richest kingdom, and they were closing the gap that existed between them and the humans with this wealth.

The elves were a closed-off race. They didn't interact with anyone outside of their kingdom because they didn't think them worthy.

The dwarves talked with them through a go-between.

The humans had been trying to find a certain dwarf. This was the mind behind their creations and was once on the humans' side because he was one of the few people that made the humans' weapons this advanced.

The goblins were just learning sword making when the rest of the world had access to cannons.

If the humans were ever going to attack the orcs or goblins, it wouldn't be a sword battle like the creatures thought.

It would be them raining cannonballs on their homes.

They had no way of defending against this, but Rodell knew the biggest threats were the dwarves.

He needed to find them, but they never stayed in one spot.

They were always on the move, and this bothered Rodell.

-

Byung told Maui about the clue he had found about Murkfang, but this was also when she shared the facts she had about him.

Murkfang had lived through his meeting with the humans, but from what Maui described, there was no doubt a fight had happened.

Murkfang wasn't taken in as a guest but as a prisoner.

"Damn it," Byung whispered under his breath because he knew this put Murkfang out of his reach.

There was no telling what he was going through right now.

"I didn't tell you earlier because I didn't want to ruin the mood. I wanted to enjoy a few hours with you," Maui said, but Byung didn't mind this because there wasn't much he could do even if she had told him right away.

"It is fine. This is good news," Byung said. He had proof Murkfang was alive, but if Maui could smell him, the other orcs should be able to as well, which meant they allowed him passage.

This was strange because they knew Murkfang was injured.

"This must not be the first time…" The truth hit Byung. Otherwise, the humans would have tried harder to hide his scent.

They were this careless because the orcs turned a blind eye to it.

Byung had something to work with right now and planned to go out to do just that.

However, if the humans were key to leaving this blocked area, then he would have to find a way to trick them into doing just that.

However, he needed to know the paths the Stonehide tribe had access to, and the only way to do so would be to beat the Chieftess.

However, he was unsure if Murkfang could survive for a week, but there was a slim chance the humans would be in a hurry to kill because of his role.

Maui noticed he was lost in his head, and she couldn't blame him because he felt limited by his choices about what he could do to save Murkfang.

She could have saved him, but Murkfang wanted to be left alone, and she listened to him.

Byung knew this, which meant he must have had a plan, but Murkfang wasn't the smartest goblin, so there was a huge chance the plan would fail.

He had to step in, and Byung couldn't believe he forgot the most important thing in every world.

"Money…" Byung muttered under his breath. He knew with his skills, he could make enough money to pay off anyone because there had to be hired fighters that even he could reach.

They had access to the brothel. This was one of the few places that the goblins could go to without trouble.

And there were sure to be crooks in such a place that were looking for work.
