Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 1052: 1049: Phoenix's Ass

As the Clown's final words lingered in the air, the entire realm of the world tree went silent and everybody stared at Divine with mixed expressions.

However, the common emotion everybody felt was disbelief.

The Clown who had toyed with them and survived so many attacks that should have killed him a million times over, was now dead... Well, not truly dead, but dead in a strange way.

The world tree's realm which had once been a flourishing land filled with lakes, greeneries, fresh air, clear blue sky, and harmless animals... was now a world that was deeply filled with the stench of blood, death, and destruction.

There was nothing in the world tree's realm that one could use to recollect the peaceful and flourishing times of the realm, everything was completely and utterly destroyed.

The skies no longer had their silver or blue hue, instead it was crimson and black. The earth was drenched in blood, bones, and flesh, and the only thing that seemed out of place was the sea of golden flames that was slowly spreading.

What was surprising was that everybody thought the golden flames burned everything it touched, but they realized that it did not.

It scorched the undead and also burnt the aura of death around it, but it did not damage the already damaged environment.

Corey looked at the golden flames in intrigue and amazement. He was extremely curious about it and its abilities.

It was the strangest flame he had ever seen, and its property was related to his Undying Will.

'I think I've read of such flames before in the Archives of Virendell... The book called these flames Undying Flame. Flames that never go out no matter what is done to it, and flames that would always spread and could also burn everything.'

'The author of the book said the flame was a myth amongst Immortals and that none had proof of its existence, so nobody bothered with the myths of the Undying Flame.'

'Even the author back then did not fully believe that such a flame existed, but in front of me is Divine with the Undying Flame.'

'The Child of Ice and Fire... That title is a lot more than it seems.'

As Corey had these thoughts, Divine inhaled deeply, and then all the golden flames on the ground flew into his mouth.

He swallowed everything except for the golden flames that continuously burned the Clown and his clones.

He snapped his fingers, and the golden flames appeared in front of him. He clenched his right hand, and then the golden flames merged into a palm sized golden flame.

Very few could see it, but in the golden flames was something that was as small as a tiny speck of dust.

This thing was what remained of the Clown, and although one might think that such a tiny thing was insignificant, if Divine extinguishes the golden flames, that tiny speck would eventually regenerate back to the full body of the Clown.

That was how ridiculous the Clown's immortality was, and Divine knew all too well about it. Which was why he sent the golden flame that would keep on burning the Clown inside his unique storage realm inside of him.

Divine exhaled deeply after doing this, and his aura receded very quickly. He turned to Corey with a smile, and was about to approach him, but then he staggered and nearly fell.

Rosa appeared and held him, preventing him from falling.

"Thank you, Rosa." He said softly, and Rosa nodded.

They both looked at Corey, and then they approached him with a smile.

"Hey kid. Glad to see us?"

Corey could not help but smile at Divine's words. He shook his head and looked around.

"Well, I would have found a way to handle it eventually, but yeah, I'm glad you came."

Corey looked at both Divine and Rosa. Both of them were his companions in the Underworld, and he was not going to lie that it felt good seeing them once again.

He looked at Divine, and seeing his haggard and bloodied body and clothes, he could not help chuckle.

"And what happened to you? What monster's ass did you crawl out from?"

Divine grinned. "Well, if you want to know, I actually crawled out of a phoenix's ass."

Corey was stunned. "... For real?"

Divine nodded with the same grin. "For real."

Corey blinked. "You're not messing with me?"

Divine shook his head with the same grin. "I'm not. I truly crawled out of a phoenix's ass. It's something I never want to experience again... I almost died."

"..." Corey looked at Divine with a blank expression, and he took four steps to the back, making sure to keep his distance away from Divine.

"Both of you... Make sure you don't touch me or I'll cut off your hands."

Divine and Rosa laughed, and Corey shook his head with a slight smile. Although they thought he was joking, he was dead serious because through his Eyes of Truth and Judgement, he knew that Divine was not lying about coming out from the ass of a phoenix.

Although he had no idea where he encountered a phoenix, he knew that Divine was extremely mysterious and had more experience regarding a lot of things compared to him.

A few seconds later, Corey stretched out his hand and his telekinesis brought the Book of Death before him.

Divine and Rosa instinctively became wary and their body circulated mana on its own in the presence of the Book of Death.

"What do you plan on doing with the book? I don't know what it is, but I know that it's extremely important to the Clown, and he did a lot to make sure he got this book. Do you know what it is?"

Corey frowned when he heard Divine's words, and then he looked at the Book of Death closely.

He didn't dare to use his Eyes of Omniscience in fear of seeing something that would either kill him or put him in pain, but even his instincts told him that the Book of Death was extremely unique and dangerous.

"I don't know, but the book is mine. I got it as a reward from a system trial."

Divine and Rosa furrowed their brows while looking at the Book of Death, but then Divine shrugged a few seconds later.

"Whatever. Just make sure to keep it very well and don't let the Clown take it no matter what. Trust me when I say that the Clown wanted the Book of Death badly."

Corey frowned slightly when he heard this, and he asked the question he wanted to ask Divine a few minutes ago.

"I heard you call that Clown we faced a 'clone', what does that mean?"
