This told him they were around 13-14, probably third or fourth years.

'Jackpot,' he thought.

"Excuse me," He said.

"I-"

"You'd like to ask for information concerning the trial." The red-haired one said.

The colour of her eyes was like a mixture of silver and blue, and the contrast between her hair and eyes was intriguing.

Orion noticed the tone with which she spoke, haughty, he could read it, recognise it anywhere, he had dealt with quite a lot of them in his past life, but he chose to ignore it.

"Yes, I'm not surprised you could figure out our aim; you must be quite used to it by now," Orion replied with a smile.

The girl subtly frowned.

"Surprised or not, information is not exactly free, and I highly doubt you have the capacity to buy it." The girl said.

From the way she talked, she wasn't stupid. She could already figure out that, for them to be in magnum 1 currently meant they had no problem with money, which meant either she was just being a pain in the ass or they dealt with a different kind of currency. Currency they didn't have.

"Oh, don't be like that, Zinia," The brown haired one said, drawing Orion's attention.

"Zinia's just being grumpy. I'm Dani, by the way." She introduced herself.

"I'm not being grumpy, I'd rather sell my soul than give information to these privileged brats," Zinia said with a scoff.

Now that irked Orion, Caelum too, but they both stayed silent and watched, Orion because he was intrigued, Caelum because it wasn't his place to talk.

"Zinia!" Dani exclaimed.

"They're our juniors, just because you're jealous of their circumstances doesn't mean you should be mean to them," Dani said with a lecturing expression.

"Please, they're all just pompous brats who haven't faced any hardship; one week in, they'd already be struggling," Zinia said.

Dani just huffed, frustrated by her friend's attitude and point of view.

"Let's just ignore her. When she gets into one of those moods, nobody is dragging her back." Dani said with a sigh.

Orion didn't say anything; he just watched, amused.

Dani noticed the smile on his face.

"Why are you smiling?" She asked, confused.

"You have very amusing expressions," Orion replied,

"Is that a compliment?" Dani asked with a wry smile.

"It's an insult, he's calling fools," Zinia said, her mana flaring and her gaze on Orion turned cold.

But Orion simply ignored her, his eyes still on Dani.

"Is there any way you can help us?" Orion asked Dani.

Zinia was visibly fuming, but she just huffed and looked away.

"I'm guessing you're worried about the trial, and you are right to be; it's not exactly easy. If you had an elder sibling who attended the academy, they might have told you, but considering you're looking for information right now, I'm guessing not." Dani said.

"Yes", Orion said. He hadn't seen Lyrielle in four years, let alone sharing information.

"I'd love to tell you, but like Zinia said, I really can't say it for free," Dani said with a solemn expression.

"Why not?" Orion asked.

"It's part of the rules," Dani admitted.

"There has to be some sort of transaction for any information shared. And trust me, they will know, they always know." Dani said with an expression that suggested she was remembering another incident.

"And you can't accept money?" Orion asked.

"Money is useless in this academy," Dany replied with a chuckle.

"So, what do you use?" Orion asked.

"Points, we use points in the academy. Everything is run by points, even the staff deals in points." Dani explained.

'As expected.' Orion thought.

"We don't have points now. Is there some other way we can pay?" Orion asked.

"I don't know, I believe you are supposed to figure that part out yourself." She said with an enigmatic smile.

"They should just sign a contract to pay us 100,000 points in the future," Zinia said, with a chuckle.

"Zinia!!" Dani exclaimed,

"That's just plain robbery," She said, slapping her friend's arm.

"Don't mind Zinia, nobody's going to collect 100,000 points from you for information like this," Dani said.

"But she was right about the contract. You can take the easy way out and sign a contract for a small amount of points, and I'll give you the information, or you can come up with something else." She said with a contemplative expression.

Orion turned his gaze away to think over his decision. He turned back after a few minutes.

"How much are you charging?" Orion asked.

"5000 each should be justifiable," Dani said with a finger on her chin.

"5000!!, You want to sell it for 5000!!" Zinia exclaimed.

"Relax, Zinia, we aren't trying to make money," Dani said with a shake of her head.

"Still, why would yo-"

"Enough, Zinia, it's my info to sell, not yours," Dani said, her tone taking on a rigid finality.

"Tch", Zinia just clicked her tongue and looked away.

"So, do you want to sign the contract?" Dani asked.

"Yes." Orion decided.

"Alright, you'll have to give me a second. I'll quickly have to draft it." Dani said, standing up and walking away.

Orion and Caelum just stood there and waited in relative silence.

Fifteen minutes later, Dani arrived, out of breath; it seemed she'd run back and forth.

"You both are going to owe me one after this." She said with ragged breaths.

She handed them the two contracts printed on paper with pens.

Orion looked through it, his eyes scanning every detail, until he found out there was nothing deceitful in it; the price was exactly as they agreed upon: 5000 points.

And there was a space for both the giver and the receiver.

He took the pen and wrote his name before signing.

Caelum did the same.

Orion just sighed before handing the papers back to them.

"Um, you both signed in the wrong place," Dani said with a wry smile, after scanning the papers.
