Mythical Era: My Evolution into a Celestial Beast

Chapter 1012: The Passage of Time and a Malicious Gaze (II)

Boom!

Blinding golden-white lightning bolts, formed by the Supreme Power Principle, exploded from Chen Chu, shaking the heavens and earth. The entire passage shook violently and began to collapse. At the same time, the surrounding mist dispersed and scattered into nothingness.

At that moment, it felt as though the world was coming apart. Surrounded by golden-white lightning, each step Chen Chu took caused the surrounding passage to crumble and explode. Even the restrictive barriers left behind by ancient aliens, which involved the power of spacetime, were destroyed in an instant by the sweeping lightning bolts before they had a chance to activate.

Overwhelming everything with absolute strength, Chen Chu quickly passed through the passage and entered a towering stone hall that stood ten thousand meters tall. Despite its size, the stone hall was completely empty, with nothing inside except for a few ancient murals on the walls.

Boom!

An even more powerful burst of lightning erupted from Chen Chu, destroying everything. The massive stone hall shattered completely and fell into the void below. Within the dark void, pulsating with intense temporal and spatial energy, two passage entrances materialized: one to the left, the other to the right.

"Nothing. Still nothing..."

Chen Chu was like a colossal beast of destruction, charging straight ahead as he followed the white jade-like passage into one stone hall after another. However, he found nothing worth taking from these ruins; perhaps because they had already been explored many times, or because the aliens who left them behind had been poor.

Inside a half-collapsed stone hall, the towering figure of the cult god Gai sat cross-legged. A faint but immense heavenly-king-level pressure radiated from him. Far behind him, beyond the crumbling stone walls, there was only endless darkness. A massive white vortex spun slowly, releasing ring after ring of white ripples. Wherever those ripples passed, time became distorted, enveloping most of the stone hall.

Strange and eerie scenes would occasionally surface within the distortions; a puppet with an enormous head and a body only one percent the size in comparison, or a barren world of death and silence where white ashes drifted down over lifeless land.

Gai sat in the corner, looking at the white ripples with a grave expression. When he had just broken through to the heavenly king level, he had once extended an arm to test them. The moment his arm touched the ripples, it lost all connection with his body, turning into black ash as if it had instantly decayed and weathered for ten thousand years.

This left Gai in an extremely foul mood. Although entering the ruins had granted him the power of its inheritance and allowed him to break through to the heavenly king level, he was now completely trapped. He felt that, unless he one day reached the supreme level and could wield the power of principles to resist the ripples, he had little hope of escaping. That was assuming he stayed at the edge of the vortex, where the temporal ripples were weakest.

The real question was, could he survive long enough to see that day? According to records left behind by this alien race, this spacetime vortex was unimaginably powerful, enough to destroy their entire civilization. In the end, it required the combined power of their entire race to suppress and seal it.

Now that Gai had taken the item of their inheritance, the spacetime vortex had reawakened. It would keep expanding until it consumed the entire realm, pulling everything into a warped and chaotic passage of time.

Suddenly, Gai's expression stiffened as he turned toward the right side of the hall. From the mist-shrouded passage, it sounded like someone was approaching.

"Someone else has entered the ruins? Perhaps it's a Purgatory demon god." Hope flickered in Gai's eyes.

Earlier, he had relied on the power of faith to establish a connection, nearly exhausting all of the divine power he had accumulated over the years. Only then had he barely managed to connect to a priest on the Blue Planet and make contact with the Purgatory Empire to carry out the exchange. Had all of the Giant Cult followers in the mythical world not already been wiped out, he would have contacted them instead.

At that moment, a loud explosion echoed through the void, causing the entire passage to tremble.

"Someone really did come!" A wave of excitement surged in Gai's eyes, followed by confusion and doubt. Since when did the demon gods become so reliable? Or was it someone else? Someone from another alien race? Or... a powerful human?

As Gai stared in the direction of the sound with growing unease, the thunderous rumbling intensified, shaking the massive hall to its very foundations. It felt as if a colossal beast were drawing near.

Boom!

The passage on the right side of the hall, supported by towering stone pillars tens of thousands of meters tall, collapsed. Through the swirling dust and falling debris, a black-haired youth slowly stepped out. Golden-white lightning crackled across him, each bolt radiating an aura of destruction so intense it made even Gai's heart race with dread.

"Chu Batian!" When Gai finally saw the figure clearly, his face twisted in shock and disbelief. Then, his eyes filled with seething envy when he saw Chen Chu radiating the power of supreme-level principles. "...Monster. He's not even human anymore."

With the help of the Blue Planet priest, Gai had recently gathered extensive intelligence on Chu Batian, also known as Chen Chu. At this point, he likely understood more about him than even the Purgatory Empire did. However, the more he learned, the deeper his envy and resentment grew.

Seeing Gai, Chen Chu slowly said, "Giant God Gai. I once told you, if we met again, I would take your head."

Gai forced down the emotions rising within him and coldly replied, "I admit your strength is impressive now, but if you think you can kill me that easily, you're way over your head."

The two were tens of thousands of meters apart, one to the left and the other to the right. Between them stretched a half-collapsed grand hall, and beyond its crumbling walls, a spacetime vortex ten thousand meters wide slowly turned in the void. Centered around the white vortex, waves of invisible ripples spread outward, engulfing most of the hall and distorting time and space with overwhelming force.

This vortex that had once filled Gai with despair had now become his shield. At the same time, he was deliberately provoking Chen Chu, aiming to draw him into the distorted spacetime. If he could draw him in, then no matter how monstrous Chen Chu's talent was, he would still suffer serious injury or be pulled into an endless temporal abyss.

As Gai watched coldly from across the vast distance, Chen Chu spoke again, his tone calm and detached. "So this is your trump card? This distorted spacetime in front of us?"

With that, he calmly reached out his right hand and lightly touched the white ripple drifting toward him.

"What? How is that possible? How are you completely fine?" Gai's expression twisted in disbelief as he leapt to his feet, stunned that Chen Chu remained utterly unaffected after making contact with the ripple.

"It's just the power of time. Is it supposed to be that difficult to withstand?" Chen Chu stepped forward into the zone of white ripples.

In an instant, an even more intense power of time engulfed him. Space and time twisted around him, causing his entire form to blur. A silver rune, shaped like a pair of wings on his forehead, began to shine with dazzling light.
