Abyss Sequence

Chapter 38: Bloodline Miracle

The gentle breeze blew from the front, but Yan Luo, covered from head to toe in the exoskeleton, felt nothing and could only tell it was a breeze from the wind speed readings.

Finally shaking off the Wind God Eagle and the Giant Horned Python, Yan Luo was able to relax a bit.

However, he was still somewhat worried.

Because he seemed to be incredibly enticing to City-breaking Level Demons at the moment, and he himself didn't know where this allure came from.

It might be related to his blood, only his blood held too many secrets, even he didn't understand why his blood could cause ordinary animals to undergo transformation.

Now that the demon tide was approaching, City-breaking Level Demons were becoming active. To hunt in the Abyss under such an atmosphere while also aiming to earn ten million, how difficult it would be!

Thinking of this, Yan Luo couldn't help but sigh.

He really didn't dare to rest now. Whether it was the Wind God Eagle or the Giant Horned Python, both could sense his presence from a distance. In such a situation, if he closed his eyes to rest, he might be devoured by a City-breaking Level Demon appearing out of nowhere while he slept.

Fortunately, when he is in a state of internal Magic Power saturation, Yan Luo's body wouldn't feel tired, just mentally fatigued, but he can push through mental fatigue with willpower.

Since that's the case, what needs to be done next is very simple.

Eat Demons, kill Demons, without pause!

Yan Luo bowed his head to organize his equipment, his fingers brushing over each weapon to confirm that all the equipment was in the place he was most familiar with.

Then, his fingers suddenly halted.

Yan Luo picked up the hand axe hanging on the outside of his left leg, focusing his gaze on a spot, fixing on the speck of mud on the axe handle.

He confirmed that his goggles were still set to recording mode, so he reached out and rubbed the speck of mud.

As expected, Yan Luo successfully rubbed the mud off the axe handle.

With that, Yan Luo's gaze froze.

......

Sasa lay on the glass of the eco-box, staring in disbelief at the little mouse inside the eco-box.

Behind her, Keke held a rifle in each hand, the cameras rotating to observe all the eco-boxes in the basement.

A moment later, Sasa took a deep breath, pulling her attention back from the little mouse, focusing again on the eco-box's monitoring system.

Magic Power was converging, and the focal point of this energy flow was the little mouse quietly staying in the eco-box eating.

The problem is, she didn't inject the little mouse with Yan Luo's marrow, that stuff is too precious; she hadn't planned to start researching it just yet.

So she injected the little mouse with Yan Luo's blood.

Yan Luo's blood is domineering; whatever the blood type of the experimental animal, once they receive Yan Luo's blood, their immune system directly surrenders.

This little mouse is different from the previous experimental animals; it has Magic Power adaptability, perhaps that's why it can gather Magic Power?

There is Magic Power within the town; it's just that the Magic Power is shared among the numerous population. Currently, Blue Star cannot fully isolate Magic Power, it can only try to minimize its impact on things.

But what exactly does the ability to gather Magic Power mean?

Sasa frowned.

She had never heard of any Demon, Mutant, or Engraver that could gather Magic Power. They can indeed absorb Magic Power, but usually, it's about absorbing the free Magic Power in the air.

Now, this little mouse can gather Magic Power. It must be because of Yan Luo's blood.

Seeing it this way, Yan Luo's blood isn't just valuable for people with very low Magic Power adaptability; it's also precious for Engravers.

Being able to gather Magic Power means being able to promote Engraving growth.

For an Engraving to grow to a complete state, an Engraver needs to be in a high concentration Magic Power environment. With sufficient Magic Power of Engraving, they use the high concentration of Magic Power to promote Engraving growth.

Killing a Demon, upon its body's disintegration, will release a large amount of Magic Power. An Engraver in such an environment relies on their own Magic Power adaptability to absorb Magic Power, promoting the growth of the Engraving.

In theory, this method of absorbing Magic Power to promote Engraving growth is quite primitive, but it's the only method humans have mastered to allow for Engraving growth.

But the mouse injected with Yan Luo's blood is different; it can gather Magic Power. If an Engraver also had this ability, it would be like they are constantly growing.

"Isn't this just like the 'cultivation' in novels?"

Sasa suddenly realized.

Even in this era, perhaps because Engravers possess extraordinary powers, many people still indulge in novels, hoping to find methods of 'cultivation' besides Engraving, to single-handedly punch through Demons, kick apart the Abyss, and save the world with their strength alone.

Now, she might have invented the method for Engravers' cultivation.

But this cannot be spoken of!

At least not before getting Yan Luo's consent can this be mentioned.

Sasa knew very well that once this matter was known by others, Yan Luo would be in big trouble.

Even if the United Government wouldn't do anything, those major consortiums and big corporations would certainly find ways to capture Yan Luo and continuously extract his blood to cultivate their armed forces.

Currently, Blue Star is like sitting on top of a volcano, a volcano named 'Abyss' beneath.

Before the volcano erupts, the scenery on the crater is beautifully adorned, just as many who have grown up in the city and never stepped outside may believe that this era has surpassed the fallen Blue Star from ten years ago by far.

But sooner or later, the volcano will erupt. The wealthy won't sit by watching themselves die; they will certainly build up their armed forces to protect themselves through the catastrophe.

If Yan Luo's blood abilities are exposed, he would definitely face imprisonment.

Sasa decisively took action, activating the extermination function of the eco-box, directly killing the mouse inside the box.

No one can reveal this matter before Yan Luo becomes stronger.

It's best to wait until Yan Luo grows strong enough to rival a Disaster-level Demon before letting this matter out.

By then, Yan Luo can use his blood to rally a large group of Hunters, leading them alongside him to annihilate the Abyss, and everyone will respect Yan Luo's strength, daring not to lay a finger on him.

Before that, this secret must be well kept.

After killing the mouse, Sasa blankly stared at the eco-box.

Suddenly, she had a premonition that Yan Luo's activities in the Abyss might not go very smoothly.

His blood should be enticing to Demons, but would those Demons be able to realize this?

As long as Yan Luo gets injured in the Abyss...

......

"Damn it!"

Yan Luo cursed as he rammed the long-barreled shotgun into the mouth of a dangerous level Giant Horned Deer, pulling the trigger to kill it.

Holding a gun in his left hand and a knife in his right, he was trapped amidst a swarm of attacking Demons.

Yan Luo once again encountered Demons moving in herds, and this time it wasn't just two Demons; it was an entire herd of Giant Horned Deer.

Originally, Yan Luo had found a Demon that was on his target list and was tracking its trail, but suddenly he came across a herd of Giant Horned Deer.

These Demons surrounded him, making it impossible for him to escape on his motorcycle.

Helplessly, Yan Luo had to choose to forcefully break through.

However, among the herd, there were both dangerous-level and deadly-level Deer mixed, making it impossible for Yan Luo to withstand an attack from a deadly-level Deer. He could only kill the dangerous-level Deer while dodging attacks from the deadly-level Deer.

This herd had a total of thirteen Giant Horned Deer, with two being deadly level, and the rest dangerous level.

While avoiding a collision from a deadly-level Deer, Yan Luo had no choice but to abandon his motorcycle which now lay quietly over twenty meters away, awaiting Yan Luo's command.

The words "Preheating Successful" appeared on his goggles. Yan Luo immediately stowed away his shotgun and knife, drawing out the heat-melt axe with a reverse grip.

"Damn it, don't any of you think of running! Die here, all of you!"

With the heat-melt axe in hand, even a deadly-level Giant Horned Deer wouldn't stand a chance against him.

Yan Luo, beleaguered by these Giant Horned Deer, had long been immensely frustrated, and he intended to slaughter the entire herd right here.

The motorcycle lying on the ground immediately braced itself, engine roaring, as it charged towards the hind legs of a deadly-level Giant Horned Deer. Yan Luo took out his grappling gun, hooking onto one of the Deer's antlers to pull himself over.

Another deadly-level Deer lifted a forehoof to stomp down on Yan Luo. After slaying the Deer caught by the grappling gun, Yan Luo twisted his body abruptly, swung the heat-melt axe, slicing off the forehoof, causing the deadly-level Deer's body to lose balance.

Immediately, he leapt up, aiming a strike at the deadly-level Deer's neck, tearing it apart.

"All of you will die!!!"
