The Growth of a God

Chapter 22: Cyber Eden (Part 1)

Just as Yao Xin predicted, David has no retreat left.

Upon learning about the three paths to divinity, David embarked on his journey without hesitation.

Contrary to what the Four-armed Giant said, he was not fixated on Godslaying.

Instead, David understood more clearly than anyone that he needed to gain the power to counter the Cyber Gods as quickly as possible.

Thus, rather than waiting for other Ascenders to become gods and then engage in the inevitable "War of the Godslayer".

Raising the Divine Throne and becoming a god before more Ascenders appear in this world is the choice most beneficial to his own interests.

And so, David traversed the entire World of Fallen Gods, hoping to understand the essence of this world and earn the recognition of the Primordial Power.

He also shuttled between the undead and Intelligent Mechanism camps, mediating and alleviating their conflicts in his own way.

Unfortunately, although David walked a path called the [Cyber Sequence] on the Ascension Ladder, it was still not a naturally-nurtured Innate Form, making it impossible to gain the approval of the Primordial Power.

Similarly, David's attempt to mediate the conflict between the undead and Intelligent Mechanisms was almost impossible.

The "peaceful philosophy" he advocated was based on the conflicts within the Cyber World, a path he genuinely wanted to pursue—it was unsuitable for the World of Fallen Gods from the very start.

To say nothing of this, the wisdom life in the Cyber World at least belongs to the same race and shares the same origin.

Meanwhile, life in the World of Fallen Gods comes from different worlds, different civilizations, and different beliefs, then gets split into extreme opposites of "life" and "death".

The conflicts and tensions in this are far beyond what David, an "outsider," can comprehend.

Not to mention, solitary David doesn't even have a single follower, let alone spreading his ideology among the two camps.

After so much development, both camps have long had their own philosophies.

Whenever David tries to spread his ideology, he gets expelled without exception.

——If you incite war like the Mist Spirit did, becoming a 'War God', you might have a slim chance.

——Yet you intend to walk a path of peace in a world filled with war; succeeding would indeed be a miracle!

This was Chi's critique and evaluation of David's actions.

Even what the Creator couldn't achieve, how could David possibly manage?

At the brink of despair, Chi's words enlightened David.

——Since seeking external force fails, why not try trusting yourself?

——There are countless paths on the Ascension Ladder, how could there really only be three ways to become a god?

David has never been the type to rely on others to achieve his goals.

Or in other words, in the Cyber World, anyone who relied on others is pretty much extinct.

Especially after initiating the Divine War, David essentially reached a "world as an enemy" state, relying only on himself—that's how he came to have countless personality backups.

However, upon arriving at the Mountain and Sea Realm, its harmonious, peaceful atmosphere gradually weakened David's resolve.

This led to him almost forgetting that he wasn't an Ascender of the Mountain and Sea Realm.

"I nearly forgot the sensation of confronting the world alone."

His eyes reignited with rebellious passion.

David finally found his own path, seeing the endpoint of the [Ascension Ladder].

Since this world's Primordial Power doesn't recognize him and he can't use its beliefs to hold up the Divine Throne, why should he be obsessed and compelled?

Cyber Life is resilient, Cyber Individuals are free and rebellious…

"I can perform the Divine Investiture alone!"

"I can also create my own Eden!"

In Chi's shocked observation, the reinvigorated David embarked on a divine path belonging solely to him.

No need for the recognition of the world!

David used his own technology to refine ores, establish factories, create assembly lines, and built a mobile steel city outside the undead and Intelligent Mechanism camps.

No need for the faith of all living beings!

David constructed a complete cyberspace within his steel city and used his own personality data to create new electronic life.

By the time other Ascenders of the World of Fallen Gods reacted, a steel city constantly expanding outward had been quietly put into action.

The steel city consumed the resources of this world, then spat out fully automated drones.

These drones connect to the steel city's network, driven by David's electronic persona, madly mining, fighting, and plundering in this world.

Its expansion speed is so fast, its influence so immense…

Later on, the steel city even soared into the sky, becoming a giant floating continent.

This was an Eden belonging to Cyber Life, a fabricated steel world.

In that steel world, David's will was the undeniable God, the supreme ruler.

.........................................................

"Haha!"

"Never thought the second to become a god would be that kid!"

Gazing up at the massive shadow in the sky, the Four-armed Giant sitting on the ground let out a hearty laugh.

The Four-armed Giant could tell that now David was only one step away from raising the Divine Throne and ascending to godhood.

"Although it's just a simplest Divine Kingdom…"

"That kid ultimately took the most difficult fourth path to become a god."

The words were filled with admiration, appreciation, and emotion.

No one knew the difficulty of this divine path better than the Four-armed Giant.

In a certain sense, crafting one's own Divine Kingdom and nurturing followers is often a feat undertaken post-ascension by True Gods.

"This is the most suitable path to godhood for this world."

At this moment, Quinn silently appeared in front of the Four-armed Giant.

"In this world full of predators, gods need the protection of Divine Kingdom and followers to survive the most vulnerable period of ascension."

Upon hearing, the Four-armed Giant slowly lowered his head, his lips still slightly upturned.

"Are you here to battle with me?"

His eyes gleamed with undisguised excitement and battle spirit, the Four-armed Giant asked loudly.

"No, I'm just here to persuade you."

Quinn gently shook his head and slowly pulled out his spine.

"But if I truly can't persuade you, I don't mind fighting with you once more."

After a slight pause, Quinn continued in a loud voice.

"I hope you and I won't participate in this 'War of the Godslayer'!"

"In return, I'll assist you with all my might in ascending during the next 'War of the Godslayer'!"

Upon hearing Quinn's words, the Four-armed Giant squinted his eyes, started seriously weighing this promise's heft.

"You know my strength; this promise isn't enough, I also want the Divine Blood you obtained last time!"

"I know you come from the Mountain and Sea Realm; those Divine Blood are nothing to you."

"But for someone like me who travels alone, those Divine Blood are enough to abandon this hunt."
