Marvelous Mecha

Chapter 1178: Clash

"It seems the Rekart fleet has successfully escaped, and it's time for us to leave."

"Leaving now?"

"Yes, I don't want to stay here any longer. This fighter jet just doesn't suit me."

Jiu Ling clicked his tongue, amazed at how he could drive it to this extent even though it doesn't suit him, and wondered what it would be like if it did suit him.

The shattered Rekart troops had returned one after another, and at the same time, General Gordon brought a bombshell: gravity will affect Titan Elf warriors.

The Speaker of the Silver Alliance was delighted to receive this information from Gordon. No one had expected that the Titan Elves would fear gravity. But if that's the case, what is their purpose for invading humans? What is the point of enslaving humans?

Due to this matter, the Silver Alliance convened a temporary session focusing on the Titan Elf's invasion of humanity.

Some people thought it was resources; others thought it was technology; some believed it was ambition.

These answers were evidently not convincing. The speaker's viewpoint was quite clear: Take resources for example, how much resources do humans actually possess? The universe is so vast, the Titan Elves could look anywhere for resources, so why choose to fight humans?

Not to mention the development of star regions; they have been exploited extensively, and no planet lacks resources.

Take Earth as an example. Earth has lots of fresh water, but any planet might have some fresh water, more or less. Water is the source of human life, but aliens may not need it, and even if they do, it's unlikely they would risk war between two civilizations over it.

Therefore, the first reason proposed by the council is unfounded.

Next is technology, which is even more unrealistic.

As we all know, humans' primary tool for warfare is still Mecha, but the Titan Elves can traverse the universe with their flesh alone. They surely have equipment we're yet to understand, indicating that their civilization level is evidently superior to humans, having advanced technologically to bypass Mecha exteriors, surviving in space using flesh or evolution.

In this regard, humans are absolutely incapable of this, so their development history is evidently much longer than humans', and their technology is more advanced, having certainly observed humans for a long period.

Quite frankly, if they could observe humans, they must have mastered human technology, making it even less likely that they would enslave humans for technological reasons.

So this viewpoint is equally unfounded as well.

As for ambition, perhaps there's a bit more plausibility, given humans' limited understanding of universal civilization rules. We've never been in contact with other cosmic civilizations, so based on the Dark Forest Theory, there indeed exists a motive for them to destroy humans.

But the problem precisely lies here; they evidently only seek to enslave humans, not eradicate them completely. There's no doubt about this, with the surrendering space troops serving as precedent, unless the opponent aims to fundamentally dismantle human resistance by these means.

Therefore, it's merely a possibility, albeit a minor one, as we can't find the motive behind the Titan Elves launching their attack.

At least humans now know their fear — gravity.

This suggests that the Titan Elves are a species that has long lived as a floating community in the universe. However, mimicry gravity only changes local areas, extending its influence into space is no easy task.

In other words, based on geology, humans can create mimicry gravity environments, but in zero gravity, no one has tried, and the area size makes it virtually impossible.

Bear in mind, one Gravity Manipulator demands enormous financial resources and comes with many limitations. In space, these limitations would only be greater.

Thus, upon receiving this intel, the Silver Alliance was initially excited but soon calmed down, realizing gravity would make no difference at all.

However, given the Titan Elves' fear of gravity, human armies might consider abandoning space battlefields for direct ground combat.

By then, no matter how formidable the Titan Elf warriors' individual combat capabilities are, they would all be constrained by gravity conditions; this is a major discovery.

The second reason for Rekart's delight, without a doubt, is Kexiao.

In this regard, the Saudis never hoped for assistance from other countries, because humans are selfish. If it were any other force, Rekart would also opt for nominal support, focusing more on attention. When it comes to frontline battles, fight if possible; otherwise, keep a safe distance and opt out.

After all, it hasn't reached the point where it threatens other forces, so at this moment, nations are all in silent agreement, with views very unified.

It can be said that since humans left Earth and set off to conquer the galaxy, they've ceased to be one community. If you die, they can always move to another planet.

But this matter indeed involves humanity, and yet, various countries merely dispatch fleets and sent support forms superficially.

On the surface, the Federation, Valan, and Pross are driving the frontline for the alliance, but plainly, who wouldn't do it for resources? Once the initial battle is profitable, whether the Federation, Valan, or Pross, they would command even greater influence in resource distribution than Rekart does.

Rekart knows this well. Not only that, but Rekart also understands why the Federation chooses to supply military support in Rekart instead of returning to their Mardis — they are simply exploiting the banner of allied Support Troop without spending their own resources.
