The Sims: I Open the Immortal Path for All Beings

Chapter 1703 Holy Sage

"Mundane beings speak of worldly matters; let everything follow the heart, dispelling falsehood to return to truth!" the mysterious Confucian True Immortal said in a deep voice.

"Dispelling falsehood to return to truth! Hahaha, so it is you, Lin Hongfu. It seems that your group too is unwilling to remain in obscurity!" The True Immortal from the Taoist School confirmed the identity of this mysterious Confucian True Immortal upon hearing his words.

A True Immortal Strong of the Confucian Gate, from the Sixth Heavenly Layer, the Great Confucian Lin Hongfu.

Within Confucianism, there is only Emperor Wenchang, a Saint of Heart who has achieved the Taoist Lord Realm; the strongest among the various Confucian Lineages could only reach the True Immortal Sixth Layer Realm at most.

Among the True Immortal strong ones of the Sixth Layer within these Confucian Lineages, one is notably famous—that is, the one known as the Wenling Layman, Lin Hongfu.

Lin Hongfu once studied the Way of Heart Teachings under the guidance of Saint Emperor Wenchang; he was undoubtedly the most outstanding disciple, peerless in his depth of knowledge in Heart Teachings—a Great Confucian renowned throughout the world, celebrated as one who could inherit Emperor Wenchang's mantle.

Of course, there are countless strong ones in this world, including direct disciples of the Taoist Lords, yet even among the Taoist Lords' disciples, one's fame typically circulates only within a limited scope; to truly become renowned across the world, ultimately one relies on oneself.

And such is the case for Lin Hongfu. As the Direct Disciple of Emperor Wenchang, and a Great Confucian in the lineage of Heart Teachings, he did not follow the path laid out by the Saint of Heart as many had expected; instead, he embarked on a path completely divergent from it.

Emperor Wenchang hailed from the Great Ming Divine Dynasty, reaching the pinnacle of life within the Divine Dynasty, attaining a position of the utmost authority; therefore, he rendered his utmost aid to the Jade Emperor.

Even when the exchange between the Jade Emperor and the Witch Sect once affected Confucianism's sacrificial authority, Emperor Wenchang still paid it no mind, firmly standing by the Jade Emperor's side, becoming a steadfast supporter behind the Jade Emperor.

Over the years, the Jade Emperor's influence has rapidly developed; aside from his own position, the staunch support of Emperor Wenchang, a Taoist Lord-level power, was indispensable.

However, as the Direct Disciple of Emperor Wenchang—indeed, the most outstanding one, and a Great Confucian capable of founding his own school within the lineage of Heart Teachings—he did not endorse Emperor Wenchang's actions, believing there was no need to continue supporting the Jade Emperor and asserting that they could stand independently, not relying on imperial power.

Master and disciple, with philosophies completely at odds, their attitudes towards the Jade Emperor so fundamentally opposed that reconciliation was out of the question.

Ultimately, Lin Hongfu left the lineage of the Saint of Heart, wandered the world by himself, and became a unique presence within Confucianism, as well as one of the Jade Emperor's opposers.

Particularly with his accomplishments in Heart Teachings, he quickly established a school in a short amount of time, nurturing many disciples, which became a famous Confucian academy worldwide. His exceptional disciples are innumerable.

And although his views conflicted with those of the Saint of Heart, after all, this was merely a clash of philosophies; neither Emperor Wenchang nor Lin Hongfu felt their relationship as master and disciple was affected.

Therefore, with such a Taoist Lord like Emperor Wenchang, Lin Hongfu was able to avoid many perils intangibly, rising quickly, and now he is but a step away from attaining the Taoist Lord Realm himself.

This True Immortal Strong from the Taoist School, after confirming Lin Hongfu's identity, no longer felt any surprise at this, as it seemed only natural.

Unlike the Confucian Lineage that supported the Jade Emperor, Confucian strong ones like Lin Hongfu believed in transforming Confucianism to resemble the current Demonic Way and Buddhism three Orthodoxies, no longer dependent on imperial power, standing independent among the human race.

As such, they became competitors and adversaries in the interest conflicts with the Demon, Buddhist and Taoism Orthodoxies; after all, the creatures of the human race are numerous, but the paths available to them are singular.

The energy of human beings is ultimately limited; each being that steps onto the path of cultivation and achieves success on that path is already a child favored by heaven; to become a True Immortal is an existence one in tens of thousands.

Indeed, there are a few who have truly managed to cultivate multiple paths, reaching the pinnacle on each; yet, even among True Immortals, such beings are exceedingly rare, and they are not within their influence.

For the Demonic Way, Buddhism, and Confucianism, their foundational standing lies with ordinary people. Only when these ordinary people choose their way can their Orthodoxies take root and flourish within the human race, sustaining through the passage of time in the world.

When the Orthodox prospers, so does Qi Luck thrive; this, in turn, nourishes the strong ones within the Orthodoxy, with Qi Yun added to assist their ascent to higher and further Realms.

Thus, the struggle of the Orthodoxies is a true fight to the death; it concerns the interests of every Cultivator, and absolutely no retreat or concession is permitted.

Others may not be qualified, but as a strong one of the Confucian Heart Teachings Orthodoxy, Lin Hongfu and the like were always competitors with the Demonic Way and Buddhism, so is it a problem to undermine each other? Not at all.

This is nothing out of the ordinary in the competition among Orthodoxies; as long as they do not intentionally provoke the Taoist Lords, a few murmurs and fabrications behind the scenes will only elicit a wry smile and a mental note from the True Immortal Strong.

If one day Lin Hongfu reaches the layer of the Taoist Lords, commanding the earnest attention of numerous Taoist Lords, the issues of today will be brought to the surface.
