The Sims: I Open the Immortal Path for All Beings

Chapter 1701 Buddhism Orthodoxy is in White Lotus_2

If this doctrine and Orthodox cannot even attain True Immortals, then it means that it cannot aid in Cultivation, and one cannot certify as a True Immortal. It will immediately face the rejection and abandonment of all Cultivators and can't possibly gain support.

Therefore, although the doctrines in the world can be described as "a hundred schools of thought contending," the ones that truly possess a Tao-Certifying True Immortal existence are only a little more than a hundred. Among these, dozens of doctrine lineages, despite having True Immortal Strong, their attainment of True Immortality is often a matter of chance, which they themselves cannot explain. At least until a second Tao-Certifying True Immortal emerges, they are destined to not thrive any further.

In the world, besides the three dominant Orthodoxies of Buddha Way, Tao, and Demon standing as three Overlords, other numerous doctrines respect the Witch Sect and Confucianism the most, not to mention how powerful the Witch Sect, an inheritance that can be traced back to the ancient times of the human race, once was.

Confucianism truly emerged during the era of the Da Zhou Divine Dynasty, and thereafter, after countless ages, Confucianism has produced many Holy Sages, who have developed and strengthened Confucianism. At its peak, even Buddha, Tao, and Demon had to retreat and dared not contend with it.

Now that the world is reviving, and Buddha, Tao, and Demon have regained control of the Heavenly Authority, although Confucianism has seen the emergence of a Holy Sage like Emperor Wenchang, he has not truly taken full control of all the Authority within Confucianism.

After all, over the years, many Holy Sages within Confucianism have left behind inheritances, branching out countless times, and the forces of each branch are not equal, making it very difficult to truly unify.

If Emperor Wenchang had risen from one of the ancient Confucian Lineages, he might have been able to use this to suppress the others and unify Confucianism. However, his doctrine is essentially a new branch within Confucianism and cannot integrate all parties completely. Hence, the current situation.

Of course, even so, Confucian Gate has no shortage of strong practitioners and is regarded as the leading Religious Sect beyond the Demon, Buddhist, and Taoism.

If the adherents of other Orthodoxies do not dare to discuss these matters, the strong among Confucianism will not lack such courage.

Indeed, Emperor Wenchang Wang Boan greatly supports the Jade Emperor, but this does not mean that all strong Confucian practitioners are willing to support the Jade Emperor.

When the Great Ming Divine Dynasty was newly elevated, as the Divine Dynasty Lord, the Jade Emperor undoubtedly received support from all sides. With his power, he could suppress the various forces within the Divine Dynasty. Even if there were conflicts and contradictions among them, these were internal issues.

After all, Confucianism, from its very establishment to its rise, to some extent, relied on the Human Race Common Master and various Lords of Divine Dynasties, which bound them together, made them the spokespeople of the Divine Dynasty Lord, and with the power of the Divine Dynasty, they grew stronger.

It can be said that the foundation of Confucianism lies within the human race and within the Court. Once these two bases are lost, it signifies the turmoil of Confucianism, or even its complete collapse.

If the Jade Emperor had always relied on Confucianism, then without a doubt, Confucianism would become his strongest support. Although there would be struggles and conflicts of interest between them in this scenario, they would not break apart in the overall situation.

However, after the rise of the Witch Deity Teaching, the Witch Sect wanted to reclaim what was once theirs. The conflict between them and Confucianism over the ritual rights of the human race rendered the strife irreconcilable.

Initially, the Witch Deity Teaching controlled the ritual authority of the human race and was feared by the successors, which led to their seclusion and absence. This vacuum was immediately taken over by Confucian Gate, leading to the later preeminence of Confucianism.

Yet after so many years, no one knows why there is a sudden struggle over the ritual authority of the human race at this time. Regardless of the reasons, the most critical point is that for Confucianism, they absolutely cannot back down.

The various branches within Confucianism are constantly in conflict, and even though Holy Sages emerge one after another, as the saying goes, "the classics annotate me, and I annotate the classics," each Holy Sage's emergence allows Confucianism to flourish while also creating new branches, making the unification of the Confucian Gate even more difficult.

However, what these branches contest is the ritual authority, vying for righteousness and status. Now with the appearance of the Witch Deity Teaching, it immediately means that their greatest interests are threatened.

If it were just the Witch Deity Teaching taking action, then as far as Confucianism was concerned, it would only mean that a new opponent had emerged. However, what they could not accept was the Jade Emperor's approach.

Because the benefits offered by the Witch Deity Teaching tempted the Jade Emperor, he began to intervene personally and take sides.

Originally, Confucianism only needed to deal with the Witch Deity Teaching, and could even bind the entire Divine Dynasty together to repel outside threats.

But after the Jade Emperor took action, it was a backstabbing to Confucianism. The Jade Emperor's act of inviting the wolf into the house caught them off guard, resulting in heavy losses.

From the Jade Emperor's perspective, all under heaven is in my hands, I am the Supreme of the world, everything in this Court is under my command, whoever brings me benefits, I will support them.

But for Confucianism, after defeating the challengers from the Hundred Schools for many years, they had almost come to view the sacrificial authority of the human race as their sacred preserve. It is precisely due to the existence of this sacrificial authority that they have been able to stand undefeated, even as Dynasties changed, Confucianism remained unshakeable.

They believed that this was rightfully theirs, they thought of themselves and the Jade Emperor as partners. Now, the Jade Emperor's act of inviting the wolf into the house was a backstabbing move, a violation of their cooperation, naturally leading to dissatisfaction within Confucianism, and even causing massive upheaval within the Divine Dynasty.

Even after the Conferred God War ended, and the Witch Deity Teaching concluded their planning, securing what they wanted and gradually withdrawing from the Divine Dynasty, giving up the battle for sacrificial authority over the human race, it was an undeniable fact that this event left a profound impression on Confucianism.

Following this act of backstabbing, different branches within Confucianism also formed their own stances and recognitions.

One side believes that since the matter is over, they can use this opportunity to collaborate with the Jade Emperor once again, after all, the current Jade Emperor is powerful, and turning against him would bring disadvantages without benefits.

However, another side, after this event, has utterly lost their approval of the Jade Emperor. They think if there has been a first time, there can be a second. The Witch Deity Teaching failed this time, but what if the Jade Emperor does this again?

The Jade Emperor has done it once, and not only did he not suffer any negative consequences from this event, he didn't lose any benefits, but he even reaped substantial gains, profiting handsomely—so perhaps this is a good thing for the Jade Emperor.

Under such circumstances, should a similar situation arise in the future, based on the Jade Emperor's nature, he might well consider doing it again, or put another way, with enough incentive, the Jade Emperor would not mind repeating the act.

In such a situation, many in Confucianism developed similar vigilance; they naturally do not wish to continue following the Jade Emperor, nor do they want to stake everything on him.

These Confucians thought up another strategy: They believe that with their current strength, they might bypass the Jade Emperor's existence and plant their influence firmly within the human race, binding themselves completely with the human race. In this way, as long as the human race exists, they can exist forever.

In the past, they paid more attention to the rulers of the Divine Dynasty; now they want to bypass this intermediary to become the rulers themselves.

And such strategic planning actually put them in fundamental conflict with the Demon, Buddhist and Taoism factions, because that has always been the path of these factions.

Hence, the influence of Confucianism was immediately suppressed.
