Awakening The Only SSS-Rank Class! Now Even Dragons Obey Me

Chapter 457: Foreign interference

Daniel could sense the filthy aura and stench of the Corruption Worshipers from this pill. Clearly, whatever it was had something to do with those disgusting bastards.

His eyes grew colder. It had been a long time since he had gotten this angry. But… was he even qualified to be angry?

In his past life, he had caused the deaths of countless people. Still, in this life, he didn't want to witness such things again, because he knew all too well what kind of consequences it would bring.

But seeing innocent people killed once more brought back memories he didn't want to remember, and that was what fueled his anger.

With a sigh, he placed the pill inside his inventory. He would examine it later when he had the time. For now, he needed to figure out exactly what had happened here.

He took off into the sky, using his spiritual senses to scan the surroundings. Fortunately, his Fallen were already handling the situation.

The casualties had been contained, and it seemed no one else had died. The criminals who tried to escape were being hunted down by the Fallen.

Looking into the distance, he noticed other Awakened along with government military forces approaching in helicopters.

Clearly, they had come to provide support. Daniel flew toward them, and upon seeing him, they instinctively raised their guard—especially since he was wearing a mask.

After all, ordinary Awakened never wore masks or tried to hide their identities. Luckily, one of them recognized him as The Fallen.

Seeing the situation calm down, Daniel quietly sighed inside and explained what had happened. The more the Awakened and soldiers listened, the deeper their frowns grew.

Without wasting time, they rushed off to save civilians. Not that there was much left to do—his Fallen had already taken care of most of it.

The only problem was the massive destruction left behind. The criminals had consumed those pills during the battle, and their power had skyrocketed to the point that they were able to fight evenly against the Fallen for a short while.

But in the end, they were defeated. All of them were either killed or captured. Once Daniel confirmed everything was under control, he didn't intend to stay any longer. After dismissing his Fallen, he quietly left the area.

"Hm? Where did that man go?" one of the Awakened eventually noticed The Fallen was gone.

"I thought he was still here! When did he even have the chance to leave? What exactly happened?" They all looked around in confusion.

"Forget it. He clearly had his reasons for hiding his identity. Maybe he was worried we'd cause him trouble if he stayed." One of the Awakened, who seemed to have a higher position, said with a faint smile.

Meanwhile, Daniel landed quietly a few blocks away and removed his mask. Unfortunately, his car had been destroyed during the chaos.

When he returned to where it was parked, he found it completely wrecked by one of the criminals.

"Guess I'll have to buy another one later." He chuckled, then called his mother to let her know he was safe and that he would be going into seclusion soon.

He knew that if he didn't say anything now, his mother would definitely worry when she heard the news later. That was the last thing he wanted.

After that, he hailed a taxi and headed toward the Everlight Moon guild. Even though he wanted to personally investigate the prisoners and those pills, there were plenty of other people who would handle it.

Once he came out of seclusion, he'd just look at the results. If necessary, he would step in. If not, he'd leave it to the others.

It took him about fifteen minutes to finally reach the guild headquarters. He paid the fare and entered the building. Before heading to his private training room, he went up to the management floor to see Lana in her office.

Since the real guild leader had returned, Lana had been forced back into her original office. Same floor, just a different room.

"Are you alright?" Lana immediately came toward him when he entered.

"I'm fine. Did you really think something could happen to me?" Daniel laughed.

"Good. It'd be a waste to lose such a genius. Anyway, what exactly happened all of a sudden?"

Daniel shook his head and explained briefly what he knew. Even he didn't have much information—he could only describe what he had seen.

"The Awakened prison exploded? That should be impossible. Do you know how many arrays are in place to prevent something like that?" Lana said in disbelief.

"I find it strange too. There must've been outside interference."

"But who would be stupid enough to do something like this?"

"That's your responsibility to figure out. I'm about to enter seclusion and don't have the time to think about things like this," Daniel said with a faint smile.

"So it's finally time, huh? I wish you success. Don't push yourself too hard—reaching Rank A isn't an easy task."

"I know. I just want to give it a try. If I succeed, great. If not, I'll just have to enter the Tower." Daniel nodded.

He knew how difficult it would be, but he trusted himself. His instincts told him he would succeed.

"Good. Just don't take too long—you don't have much time left. The dungeon raid will begin soon," Lana reminded him.

"Don't worry, I won't forget. By the way, where's the guild leader?"

"My father went to see my grandfather. It seems he wanted to make sure he's doing alright."

"His injuries got worse?" Daniel asked, as if he had figured something out.

"Ugh… there's no hiding it, huh? Yes. His injuries have gotten worse," Lana said with a heavy expression. If something happened to her grandfather, the entire guild would suffer.

At that point, Everlight Moon would definitely drop out of the top ten guilds. And because of their wealth and rare items, many other guilds would start coveting them.

"Is there a way to heal his wounds?" Daniel asked, feeling a bit guilty. After all, this whole situation was partly because of him.

"Well… there is one. The Water of the Spring of Life could heal him. But that thing only exists in the Gulf of Sumer, and that place is extremely dangerous."

"Oh? There? I actually planned to go there anyway. Guess I definitely have to go now."

"Why do you even want to go there?"

"We'll talk about it later. For now, I need to start my seclusion." Daniel didn't explain further, said goodbye, and headed straight for the floor with private training rooms.
