Instigator and Protector of Violence

Chapter 240: Young Master Be Careful

When Ethan returned to the garden, West awkwardly smiled at him.

"Ethan, I lied to you. Actually, the teacher didn't leave anything; Ain wanted to see you."

"..."

Ethan felt it was strange from the start. Hughes shouldn't have such habits, but due to his not-so-bad relationship with West, he came in anyway.

Unexpectedly...

"She said she just wanted to say a couple of words to you."

West added another sentence.

"Alright."

At this point, Ethan couldn't refuse and walked into the nearby room.

Inside the room was only Ainebez.

She was originally standing with her back turned, seemingly admiring the flowers in the courtyard. Upon hearing the sound, she slowly turned around.

There was only a dim oil lamp in the room, under which she appeared particularly enchanting.

"Are you afraid of me?"

But her first words were like this.

"I'm fine."

Ethan was indeed a little scared, afraid she might suddenly act as she did last time, so he stood by the door without fully entering.

"About last time, I'm really sorry, actually I..."

Speaking to this point, even though she had mentally prepared herself in advance, Ainebez's face turned red.

"What happened last time?"

Ethan was pretending to have amnesia.

"Hmm."

It was an excellent response, yet for some reason, Ainebez's face reddened.

She seemed to have difficulty breathing and quickly took a deep breath.

"Anyway, I'm sorry, and thank you, thank you for being willing to help those kids, tonight I..."

"It's what I should do."

Ethan interrupted her.

The two fell into silence.

"I should go."

After a while, Ethan said.

"Okay."

When Ethan left, Ainebez covered her face again.

So strange.

Really too strange.

She became strange again tonight.

Clearly, she had restrained herself quite well, but upon seeing Ethan, she couldn't help it a little.

Especially since there were two beautiful girls beside him.

For no reason, she just wanted to do something.

That's why she behaved so aggressively at the dinner party.

"Really..."

Earlier, she almost lost control again.

Luckily, Ethan left.

She wanted to stand up, only to find her whole body limp.

"Hey..."

Sighing softly, she lay back down on the couch again.

-------------

In the car.

Sofia wore a stiff expression.

Anya was indeed driving normally.

In fact, it was impossible to tell whether things were normal; Anya's expression outside was always calm and unchanged.

"Did you sneak in to see her just now?"

Sofia might be dull in other aspects, but she seemed particularly sharp in this regard.

Ethan coughed once and said, "No, just got something; you saw it too, the teacher brought me a hometown specialty."

When leaving, in order to smooth things over, West had considerately handed Ethan a few local specialties.

"Really?"

Sofia was still skeptical.

"Of course."

Ethan had a constant feeling of being guilty, even though he had done nothing at all.

"Miss Driver, say something."

Sofia, observing for a long time without figuring anything out, hurriedly sought Anya's help.

Anya remained silent.

Ethan thought, could Anya possibly be swayed by you?

Yet the next moment, Anya spoke: "Young master, be careful, the way she looks at you isn't right."

"Cough..."

Ethan almost thought Anya had been present that day.

--------------------

Meanwhile.

South District.

Inside the Sanctuary.

Things weren't so cheerful for Vasini there.

He was having a rough day as well.

Having barely slept, he awoke from his dream.

In the dream, the monster from last night had come to the Sanctuary, even the massive gates couldn't block the creature, and his entire family had been annihilated.

It startled him awake, plunging him into great self-blame.

The reason for his remorse was that he actually believed the Sanctuary couldn't stop the creature.

This was clearly not devout enough.

This was entirely unacceptable to him.

His devotion to the Dark Savior was absolute, loyal beyond doubt, unwavering in the slightest.

So he ventured deep into the Sanctuary to pray, while also making confession.

He hoped the Lord could forgive his wavering in the dream.

The Mafia leaders he compelled to remain in the Sanctuary looked at his prayers with helpless expressions.

Though they were Mafia members, in today's age, they no longer believed in any Dark Savior.

No deity exists. Only money, power, and strength can truly save oneself.

While praying, Vasini silently observed this group.

These were non-believers; should they remain unchanged in the future, they wouldn't be fit to continue with him.

After devoting half a day to prayer, by evening, he finally received a response.

Upon hearing the divine voice, he nearly shed tears.

He had thought he was forsaken by the deity.

"God, please save me!"

"I have sent down my envoy; everything shall be resolved."

The deity offered new guidance.

An envoy?

A Divine Envoy?

Vasini was revitalized. If there were indeed a divine envoy, then no matter what form it took, it didn't matter.

He had complete faith in God's power.

For God bestowing such blessings upon him nearly enabled him to kill the monster.

"The deity has responded. He will send an envoy to save us."

Vasini announced the news to everyone.

In response, the Mafia leaders secretly despised him, thinking Vasini had truly gone mad.

If a deity were useful, how would they end up in this predicament?

The divine should have intervened at the start, shouldn't it?

No one believed.

Only Vasini.

Vasini could sleep well tonight.

Yet now it was Ethan's turn to be sleepless.

Because he had to find a way to deal with the immortal one.

First, he needed to figure out what the entity actually was.

So upon returning home, he pulled out the ancient alphabet left by Gustav, which he hadn't taken out for a long time.

He needed to first investigate the true name related to the earth.

However, the copy of The Truth Newspaper he had left with Wenster wasn't brought over, so to check the true name chart, he had to find a new copy.

Fortunately, Herlosh was on his side; as a member of the Real Eye, even though he was a fringe figure, obtaining a copy of The Truth Newspaper shouldn't be a problem.

Sure enough, at eight in the evening, Herlosh delivered the latest newspaper.

However, he didn't stay long; it was clear he was busy and had to return for overtime.

It seemed like he was making great progress on Johnny Blackbird's special report.
