His eyes opened and the flow of Hana was like the picture of a galaxy, spreading through his sight and covering everywhere.
Even the stage had been covered by the image of the hana-like galaxy.
In this world, normal cultivators were able to merely control the Hana energy like any human would normally breathe in air. To these cultivators, Hana was like air.
But it was a lot different for Reith.
He did not know if it was because of his talent, but this was something he had just tried doing and it worked out for him.
Instead of mere Hana, Reith saw the components of Hana, the lines, the flows, and many other connecting elements.
It was just like seeing the components of air as they moved past you. For Reith, he was not just seeing; somehow his body had moved from being able to see to allowing him to control the Hana lines that belonged to him.
The ball of energy opened into various lines, and just like Ruach had told him, Reith imagined these lines in the form of the spell he was creating. Then it appeared that time seemed to slow down.
Bam!
Three rods of lightning whip strike surged forward on their own, each striking three different spots.
Pax narrowed his gaze and then twisted, escaping the hit of the three rods, but this time he had nothing to say.
Reith felt a thick bloodlust emanating from his opponent, and instead of fear, a grin appeared on his face. The reason for this reaction was merely because Reith had faced even stronger bloodlust, and his willpower had stretched by a greater length.
Releasing three lightning rods at once had taken much of his energy, if not all, but he was starting to enjoy it.
Even if it meant cultivating Hana without filtering, he would do it so he could learn as much.
Another rod of lightning whip struck out.
Reith was running in circles and at the same time firing lightning after lightning.
The impact of each attack seemed to shake the foundation of the stage. Even other fighters had to look toward the particular area.
"Is Pax beating up another person? Why such heavy sounds?"
"Probably. The last time we heard that, he was delivering heavy lightning attacks."
"What if someone was giving him a hard time?"
"Hard time? Pfft. No one can give Pax a hard time, except that instructor with a goat beard."
A small smile danced on Milly's lips when she heard the comments. This Reith person was truly surprising her. Then a fleeting thought passed her mind, and the smile escaped her.
This would be the last time she would have this amount of fun.
She had to call this off so he could get back to his academy. While she was in the Azure Region, she remembered that there was a certain event that was meant to happen, and then the students would be moved to the True Academy at the continental sphere.
Milly clenched her fist.
She wanted to go to the True Academy also.
It was not fair that her age mates had the choice to school, and then she had to stay back and learn how to rule a city.
Sneaking out again crossed her mind, but she had already tried it once, so it would be harder this time.
If only her mother was alive, she would have talked to that bone-headed man.
Reith flinched, escaping the raw energy of Pax that targeted his neck.
It was clear to him now. This Pax person was trying to kill him.
"Milly, don't you think it's enough?" Reith yelled out. Maybe this lady had forgotten about him, and before she remembered, he might have already been killed by this man.
Another lightning shot past Reith, tearing into his cheeks.
"Milly!!"
"Pax, it's enough. Thank you for your time." Milly smiled, and at once everything became silent. If anyone walked in at that moment, it would not occur to them that a fight had just happened, and it had rocked even the very pillars in the large space.
"You should have allowed me to give him some kind of beating," Pax grumbled and jumped down from the elevated stage. He felt like he had wasted a very good part of his time.
However, he took one last glance at Reith. If that boy continued at the pace he was right now, he would surpass Pax in a few years.
Learning such a fighting formula in the middle of a fight, even he could not do that when he was facing a battle with that goat-beard instructor.
Reith bowed down to Pax. "Thank you for your time and the lesson."
Pax scoffed. Of course, he learnt. That must have been the reason that lady brought him here.
Without much delay, they both parted ways.
Reith walked alongside Milly, and they walked out of the room.
The fight had not even taken more than an hour.
"That was good work. Where did you learn that from?" Milly asked.
Reith merely smiled. "A friend of mine," he answered.
Seeing that he did not give up any more information, Milly mentally chose to let the issue die. If he did not want to tell her, then she would not push it.
They got back to the room where Milly had picked Reith, and it looked like Max had already arrived. His face was also brighter than usual, and he was talking to Cassia.
On sighting Reith, he instantly rose to his feet.
"I have taken care of everything, and we need to leave as soon as possible. Are you done with him, Your Highness?" Max turned to Milly.
"Yes, you may leave. I will arrange a vehicle to take you all back to the hill, through the back border of the Kingdom," Milly said, and they all nodded.
In the next hour, the group were arranged in a vehicle, and they were heading back to the hill.
Reith played with a spark of lightning between his fingers, and he could not help but think about what he had just gained.
This would be great to use in the Final Selection.
Goosebumps appeared on his skin as he remembered the stakes. This was his chance to find his sister, and he would ensure nothing stopped him.
