SSS GRADE TALENT: Master of the Heavenly Path

Chapter 56: STROKES AND SENTENCES.

"What are you talking about?" Kalion spat.

"Answer me. Someone else handled this sword and the person isn't me." Howard frowned, using his fingers to trace the line of the sword.

"Tch. I gave it to the old man beside your shop," he answered.

Howard hummed, and then he walked to the staff he had placed on the table.

"Here. Thank you for staying with me. I'd handle it from here." Howard gave the staff to Reith.

Although he didn't understand why Howard had suddenly changed his mind, Reith took the staff nonetheless.

"Thank you. Are you sure you can take it alone?"

"Pfft. Carter has no true strength, and I plan to give him an earful about tampering with my creation. Kalion, I'd let your boss hear of your bad behaviour. If you had just calmed down, then we could have talked things out. The damage you created is worth 1000 gold credits. Tch, imagine breaking my clients' weapon."

Howard delivered his verdict with such hardness that Kalion nearly choked on his own blood.

"But... but you can't blame me! How'd I know that someone else had touched it?" Kalion quickly said, trying to get out of the rope they had tied him in.

Although he could coat his body in Hana and cut off the rope, it seemed Howard had thought ahead. The rope was made of a rare natural fiber called Cananin.

It had the ability to negate Hana.

Meanwhile, Reith had already left the area.

He had to go home and get in some sleep or maybe train also.

And this time, he needed to study what was going on with his book.

It was strange, but after Kalion had slammed into him, the book in his chest had taken more of the hit. If not, he wouldn't have been able to stand up.

Since then, the book had been constantly vibrating.

"Hey! To the Apex Academy, please." Reith hailed a Vber.

And in a few moments, he was back in his room.

The staff was laid in front of him as he had taken off the cover. At first glance, it looked like a normal staff, but Reith's Hana sight allowed him to see the remnant energy moving around the weapon.

He sat in his regular position and took out the book.

"Do books gain weight?" He arched a brow. His cultivation path emblem seemed heavier than normal.

There was something different with the book, and somehow, the excitement was building up inside him.

Why had the book reacted, and why now?

His hands landed on the cover of the book, and still he could feel the vibration.

A flash of light nearly blinded his vision as he turned the book open.

"Wow!" Reith gazed into the pages of the book and realised there were so many words.

Words?

This was the first time the Heavenly Path had brought forth words that weren't related to his growth milestone or achievements.

It was strange, and what was even stranger was the fact he could barely understand any of these words.

"Ruach, please." Reith was quick to call for help.

"I'm here. As always." Ruach's voice was quick to answer. "You are meant to cultivate using those words. Due to the fact that you lack pure Hana at the moment, these words were created so you can work with them."

"Why not do this since?" Reith asked, wanting to facepalm himself.

"At that time, you didn't reach the stage. Now that you have, I'd advise that you make good use of this opportunity. Be diligent and you'd get rewards."

Reith nodded his head solemnly. He'd put his best if it was required. Because his goal was to get power.

Ruach felt Reith's desire for power, and he wasn't too happy about it.

A desire for power wasn't the best way to start with.

"How do you know you have gotten enough power?" Ruach asked Reith.

Reith thought about it and gave an awkward chuckle. "Once I save Reisa, I'd think of my future after. Maybe showing people that a church boy shouldn't be underestimated, especially when backed by My True God."

After getting the affirmation from Reith, Ruach kept quiet.

At this point, he would merely watch.

Reith picked up the book and then he stared at the words that were on it. However, what he saw was that he could barely even understand.

It looked like gibberish had been written and strokes had been drawn on the book. Reith narrowed his gaze, and he remembered what Ruach had told him.

But how could he cultivate while reading words he could barely understand? It was impossible.

"It should be the same way for those techniques," Reith noted to himself.

He moved to each page, realising that there were so many other strokes that he couldn't understand in the book.

Reith sighed and placed the book in front of him. It would take time, but there was no other way to do it.

Reith focused his attention on the strokes, and then he started to channel Hana into his meridians.

It was an idea Ruach had taught him when he first began to learn his first technique.

The goal was to direct Hana to the meridian that was in closer proximity to his brain so it would help him bring out meaning.

Using this method, Reith realised that the symbols were starting to take shape. Sweat pooled on his forehead and exhaustion was biting into him.

It was a lot harder. Then Reith stopped cultivating and took a deep breath.

"I thought you said I didn't need Pure Hana," he said, complaining to Ruach.

"Yes, it would reduce your reliance on Pure Hana. Your cultivation path is pure and heavenly. Normally, you shouldn't be able to cultivate using this diluted Hana in the air. So this text was created for you to study. As you grow deeper in studying, it would be easier for you to filter impurities from this Hana."

It was then Reith understood the price of his cultivation path, and now he was actually glad that his talent was an excellent grade.

Because even with his talent grade, he had spent two hours and it was only one word he was able to understand.

But something strange happened the moment the meaning of the word hit him.
