After the little commotion, the rest of the power testing went smoothly.
Susan kept advising her students and correcting their errors.
It was a long process, and Reith was already getting bored.
The rest of the techniques were not as exciting as Terra's and Peter's display of power.
But he could see an improvement in the way he read the Hana lines, and maybe that was good enough.
After the whole process, Susan gathered all the students and congratulated them on the display of their techniques, as this meant they were growing into stronger soldiers.
"This concludes my assessment of every one of you. Almost everyone." She said with a smile and then continued with her words.
"In the next two weeks, you'd all be having the Mock Final Selection, and your teachers have handed over every bit of their knowledge to you. Please make good use of them. The Mock Final Selection would be watched by the governing council of this academy." Susan informed them with her hands on her waist.
"Try not to embarrass me, guys." She gave an awkward chuckle, but everyone nodded.
Who would want to embarrass this beautiful teacher of theirs?
"Yes, Ma'am." They responded in unison.
Susan gave an approving nod, and then she walked forward between the rows of students.
As if she remembered something, she turned back to the group.
"People who haven't shown their techniques, please get ready to display after a week. I hope you can do your best." A smile decorated her lips.
The students nodded their heads.
This time they would do their best, and among them was Isho, who clenched his fists.
Even with his F-grade talent, he would still push past this limit.
Just as Susan was about to leave, she looked at Reith.
"Hey Reith, please meet me in my office." She winked at him, causing the male students to look at Reith with burning jealousy.
"Don't be like that, guys. It's probably a list of my missed assignments." Reith said, awkwardly rubbing his neck in an attempt to calm his feisty colleagues.
Seeing that they weren't listening him with the way they discussed among themselves, Reith decided to immediately follow his teacher.
Also, he followed her mainly because he didn't know the way to her office.
As soon as Susan went into her door, Reith stayed outside for a while.
It wouldn't be wise to make her think he had been following her.
"This book moved the other time." Reith muttered to himself, remembering the moment he had been taking it to Peter.
Taking out the book, he moved to the first page, and then he realized something had changed.
There was an added sentence under his Core Realm page.
"Is that a technique?" Reith raised his brow.
It was impossible. He didn't think he had learned anything related to a technique.
How did something like this appear?
Just as he stared at it, he felt like he was being sucked deep into a state of unconsciousness.
Then something shifted behind the door, and he instantly closed the book.
There would be another time for this, but right now, his teacher had asked to meet with him.
Reith knocked, and then he waited.
"A new technique? I didn't have to get a scroll?" His mind wandered, but then he inhaled.
"Focus." He snapped back to reality.
Susan might want to ask questions about his experience in the Alliance.
He needed to be in the right state to answer those questions.
So whatever he had seen now, no matter how shaking it was, he would have to put it on hold.
"Come in." Susan's calm voice sounded from behind the door.
"Ruach, please guide my words." Reith relaxed his shoulders.
What more could a teacher want?
Then Ruach's voice appeared in his head.
"You might be overthinking a lot. Just let it happen. I'm sure you can see the Hana flow. Do you sense an irregularity?" He asked.
Reith smiled and shook his head. There was nothing strange about a teacher seeing her student, so he was overthinking.
He bent the handle of the door and pushed it open.
"Good day, Ms. Susan. You asked me to see you." Reith said the moment he stepped into the room.
Susan raised her head and then she closed what she was doing, staring intently at the boy.
It was quite unbelievable that such a strong-looking child would carry an unfortunate luck.
"Yes, Reith. I called for you." She answered and then pulled a drawer on her desk.
Taking out a scroll, she stretched her hand toward him.
"This is for you."
A scroll was in her hand, and it caused Reith to furrow his brow.
"Ma'am, I think I need to pay before I am given a technique. I don't really have much points to pay for something like that."
The reason why he had said that was because he saw a golden stamp on the scroll.
A golden stamp??
"Wait, Miss. I think you made a mistake. That's a golden technique." Reith said in a rush, causing Susan to raise her brow.
"I see. This technique was sent by Silverwave. She said you didn't know her by name, but there was a woman you saved." Susan explained, and then she narrated what Silverwave had told her.
Deep down, she was extremely surprised, even though she maintained a cool demeanor.
Was this boy hiding his strength?
He saved Silverwave?
The Silverwave of the Jade Crimson?
When she had heard the news, her knees had given way.
This boy had to be hiding something, but she wasn't going to probe, at least not right now.
"Oh..." Reith nodded slowly, understanding what was happening.
Then he collected the technique scroll.
"Thank you, Ma'am." Reith said.
With a wave of her hand, Susan dismissed him, not wanting to give herself more of a headache.
Reith walked out of the door, and he tightened his hold on the scroll.
A golden technique.
Never in his lifetime would he think it was possible for him to own such a gem.
It was too good to be true.
