Chapter 580: Rael, The Merciful Platinum King
A few hours had passed since the end of the first trial, and now, Rael sat by a pond, aimlessly throwing rocks at a faraway tree, snapping its branches with every throw.
After what had just happened, he wasn’t really sure how to feel.
Every ruler there was powerful, and if he went head-to-head, he would’ve undoubtedly lost.
With his mind abilities? He didn’t even feel a connection to them, so how could he even begin to control them?
Still, they separated and went their own ways.
Rael, to wherever was quietest.
And Lucien, to wherever his mother was.
“This fucking sucks.” Rael tossed another rock and finally checked the pop-ups.
“Mercy…” Rael mumbled and closed his eyes, slipping into the Prophetic Realm.
As he stared at the many threads, he opted to simply check the future, and that was exactly what he did.
The trial was a little quirkier than he expected, but this one, he was confident in winning.
But he also couldn’t help his curiosity, so he looked ahead and realized something foul.
The result of every trial determined which trial it would be next.
If he won by a large margin, the trial would favor him instead of Lucien.
But if he lost by a lot, it would be the opposite.
And yet, every time we’re close, the trials shift to Lucien’s favor. Is his mother really that petty? Rael thought with a sigh. Even so, I can’t really lose if I just follow one of these outcomes.
He was about to stop watching the future, but once again, his curiosity knew no bounds.
He looked further ahead, a day, two days, and then finally, a week.
Rael knew for a fact that he could look further than a week, but for some reason, he wasn’t able to.
The more he focused on that feeling, however, the more he realized that with every passing second, the future he could see would vanish.
If he could see ten minutes into the future, now it was nine.
He had many theories, but the main one was obvious.
Something big is going to happen very soon… likely in one of our final trials.
After all, he couldn’t see past the fourth trial, but he knew for a fact that there was a fifth.
Nonetheless, Rael tinkered around inside the Prophetic Realm for a little while longer until he finally reopened his eyes.
But after just a few seconds of having them open, he closed his eyes again.
He didn’t have anything to do for the next few hours, and for that reason alone, he decided to enter meditation.

Rael opened his eyes, and just in time…
<Ding!>
Good. This trial is way too nonsensical, but maybe I just don’t get its intention, Rael thought, and with that, a warm sensation washed over his body as if someone had just scanned him with mana.
But as quickly as that sensation came, it went away.
However, when he stood up, he spotted a portal right beside him, and on the other side, there was a dark dungeon.
Lucien was already there, and so was Anastasia. Alongside the two of them, there were also a few of the earlier guests who, kindly fuck them all, were a part of Lucien’s clique.
And so, when he stepped through the portal, the trial’s description emerged before him.
Yeah… I mean, if they’re all criminals that were banished into this shithole, I don’t see any of them being redeemable, Rael thought. Though maybe that’s what they thought would get me? How weird.
“I’m glad you could make it, Rael Sutekh,” Anastasia said with a smile, then pointed to nearly fifty prisoners in front of him, all tied up with their eyesight obscured.
“As you’ve already read, you must enact your judgement on these cretins. Don’t hold back, but oh, make sure you are being reasonable. That’s the only condition here that everyone must follow, including my son.”
For some reason, she seemed slightly more serious than before, and while he wanted to just ignore her, he listened to her just this once.
“You can pick whoever you want, just make sure you don’t exceed five people,” she added. “Also, no abilities or skills. No mind manipulation or anything of the sort. You are the judge, not the executioner.”
“Alright,” Rael replied plainly. “So I just have to walk up to one, ask around, and give you my decision?”
Anastasia frowned, then nodded. Get full chapters from N0v3l.Fiɾe.net
With that confirmation, and Lucien already starting, Rael decided to go ahead.
As he walked around, he realized that every single person here had a number etched into their skin. After a few minutes, he decided to stop in front of lucky number 7.
“Hi there,” Rael spoke. “I’m sure you already know how everything’s going to go down, so tell me what you did, and I’ll make sure to be gentle with you.”
The prisoner shook, then spoke slowly:
“I have killed a man, and I have slept around with many women. I have incurred so much property damage… that it would take ten lifetimes to pay back.”
“Oh? Good idea,” Rael replied with a smile and turned to Anastasia.
“I want lucky number seven to be immortal until he pays back his debts. Oh, and if he does any terrible deeds without any justification, cut off his balls.”
Anastasia stared back at him silently, blinking several times as if to ensure what she heard just now really had come out of his mouth.
And when she finally processed his words, her frown deepened.
“Do you take this ceremony for a joke?”
“Of course not, I’m serious,” Rael replied. “I still have a few left to go around, so if you don’t mind, I’d like to return to sentencing the rest of these poor souls.”
“…”
Anastasia glared daggers at him, but after a brief pause, she snapped her fingers, causing lucky number 7 to disappear.
A faint smile appeared on Rael’s face as he nodded at Anastasia and got back to work.
