Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster

Chapter 579: Eating The Moon

Chapter 579: Eating The Moon

He was, in fact, not confident.

The fat ruler in front of him had finished the dishes that he had beforehand, and it only took him 20 seconds.

20 whole seconds to eat nearly 60 dishes.

And yet, even after he was done, it didn’t look like he was full.

Almost like those 60 dishes were nothing but a small afternoon snack.

“Hmph.” The ruler crossed his arms. “Feed me now. If you can fill my stomach, then I shall acknowledge you.”

Of course, Rael could go with the regular route of cooking up some food in the kitchen, but if it took him 10 minutes to cook something, and this fat ruler ate it in under a second, it wasn’t very ideal.

So, like always, he opted straight for the Premium Shop, buying a buffet.

As expected, the fat ruler ate it all in a few bites, so Rael opted for another buffet, and then another. Honestly, by the 10th buffet, Rael was convinced that this ruler had a bottomless stomach.

At least the food’s cheap. Or I guess, cheap enough to not put me in a mountain of debt. I only spent around half a Premium Coin so far, Rael mused and continued on.

Dish after dish, and buffet after buffet, the ruler didn’t let up even for a moment.

But when he was nearly an hour in and over 200 buffets down, Rael felt like he had to take a different approach.

“Has there ever been something you wanted to eat but couldn’t?” he asked plainly.

The fat ruler tilted his head.

“Something I’ve never tasted? Hmm… I don’t think there’s a food in the universe I haven’t tried yet,” he said, narrowing his red eyes. “Actually, this ruler remembers hearing a tale about a crescent moon. Some people managed to reach it, and after accidentally stumbling, they ate a piece.” ʀᴇᴀᴅ ʟᴀᴛᴇsᴛ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀᴛ novel(ꜰ)ire.net

He let out a hearty laugh.

“The fools continued eating it until their bodies burst. But from then on, once every year, the moon resembled a crescent, and it reminded everyone of that ancient myth.”

Rael leaned back with a sigh.

“So you want me to buy you the moon so you can eat it. I… Couldn’t you have just chosen some kind of pizza flavor?”

“This ruler does not feel satisfied with a mere pizza,” the ruler replied haughtily. “Now be quiet and keep giving me food if you cannot fulfill my request.”

With that, he pointed at his mouth and then his stomach, waiting impatiently for Rael to do something.

And something he did.

•—Premium Shop—•

•—Balance: 489,992 Premium Coins—•

• The Crescent Moon (???): 5,000 Premium Coins

5,000 Premium Coins? No, that doesn’t even matter. Rael rubbed his temples. Someone actually ate a fucking moon? Just how hungry do you have to be?

Still, if it really was possible to get this thing, then Rael wouldn’t hesitate further.

And so, with a single click, he purchased it.

However, it didn’t appear in his palm, nor did he feel it anywhere nearby.

But just then, a shiver ran down his spine as the ground began to shake. Looking through the window, Rael spotted a crescent moon falling from the sky, nearing the palace rapidly.

His brows twitched in confusion, and as he turned toward the ruler to give some lackluster explanation, he realized the ruler had already vanished.

And the next moment, Rael’s ears rang, followed by the windows of the palace bursting, sending shards everywhere.

He managed to avoid everything, but when he glanced toward the incoming moon, he was left pleasantly surprised.

The fat ruler stopped the moon with a single finger, and now, he was merely toying around with it, eating large chunks.

For a moment, the ruler had a disgusted expression, but it soon turned to one of ecstasy as he dug in for a second time and then a third.

And so, while the succession ceremony was going on, this ruler slowly enjoyed the moon, eventually flying up alongside it and finally vanishing from sight.

When that happened, a pop-up appeared in front of Rael’s face, making him let out a sigh.

<Ding!>

<Congratulations, you are the first person to pass the First Trial.>

“Oh? Did I do it before Lucien?” Rael mused, tapping all sorts of buttons until eventually…

1. Rael Sutekh: Acknowledged by 3/3 rulers.

2. Lucien: Acknowledged by 0/3 rulers.

“…”

Zero?

He could understand if it was like two and he was going for the last one, but none at all? Was he even trying?

No, rather than trying… was he even participating?

Rael closed his eyes and scanned the entire palace. Within seconds, he found Lucien, and as it stood, he was in the very front of the palace, standing still.

As if feeling his presence, Lucien turned in his direction and flashed a smile.

Even though he was weirded out, he moved to the front of the palace, and when he arrived, he was met with quite a surprising sight.

Beside Lucien, there were four shadows, and then three more a bit further away. None of them moved, but from their pressure alone, he knew they had recognized him.

Still, Rael approached Lucien and crossed his arms.

“So… what exactly are you doing?”

“What does it look like?” Lucien questioned with a slight smile. “I am obviously standing still.”

“No, I get that part. What’s the point? Even though we’re going head to head here, going out in the first round would be a little embarrassing, no?” Rael replied with a scoff. “But don’t get me wrong, if you intend to fail, then keep at it, champ.”

“Fail? That’s funny.” Lucien chuckled. “If I had wanted to fail, then I wouldn’t have gathered all these failures here.”

The moment he finished those words, he raised his hand. To Rael’s genuine surprise, all seven shadowy figures raised their arms as well.

Just then, Rael realized that their eyes were no longer red, but blue.

The same eye color as Lucien’s.

With every gesture, the shadowy figures moved, and eventually, each one of them walked up to Lucien and placed their hands atop his head.

One by one, they began to dissipate, until finally…

1. Lucien: Acknowledged by 7/3 rulers.

2. Rael Sutekh: Acknowledged by 3/3 rulers.

“That was fun.” Lucien rubbed his wrist, then turned to Rael.

“What do you say we continue this petty succession ceremony, hm?”
