Chapter 2546: Another Apex

"THIRD"

Sam’s command reached the shadow mice and they made their move. They activated the formation pillars, that were very similar to the ones Sam used to make the formation around the central zone.

*BOOM*

With another explosive noise, the barrier around the central zone disappeared. Instead, another barrier appeared, covering, the central zone, northern zone, eastern and western zones as well. More than half of the island was occupied with the other half’s vegetation completely preserved.

Even as the barrier formed, spatial energy became chaotic. Along with the shadow energy, the whole area, became a much larger opening into the shadow world.

The shadow energy came out chaotically and even the apex for the first time felt the threat.

The group disappeared into the mountain. In the screen, Sam saw the apex, which wrestled with the shadow energy that invaded its body.

A smile appeared on Sam’s face. A cold and arrogant smile.

"Fourth."

He muttered to himself and the next moment, dozens of shadow undead, all of them in the shapes of different beasts, came out of the shadow world.

None of them were on the level of the apex they were targeting, but all of them attacked it.

With a mere swing of its tail, the apex destroyed them. But they just reappeared, by absorbing energy from the shadow world.

*ROAR* *ROAR*

The apex is finally pissed. Energy charged at its mouth and it was about to blast.

Everyone inside the mountain was nervous. No matter what kind of safety they used, it wouldn’t be enough for them to save themselves from this.

"Disappear"

Sam whispered. Before the rest could make sense of what was happening, all of them disappeared. Sent to the southern end of the island.

"What the fuck..."

"Mother fucker...."

The gang started cursing left and right. There was only one reason for Sam to do such a sudden spatial transfer... there is a significant danger. That means Sam might just die...

*BOOM*

With a loud noise, the energy beam escaped the mouth of the apex. The attack was so strong, the barrier even though far away shattered, but as if it had its own mind and life, it was recovering instantly.

It broke several times within a second, but it came back again and again. The energy from the shadow realm is too much and the barrier was automatically being remade.

The rocks, trees or whatever things in the surroundings were destroyed. And of course, the mountain was no exception. However, several inscriptions lit up as the shadow energy charging from the ground was sent to the mountain, repairing it real time.

Sam looked at the screen and pursed his lips.

"Come out..." He muttered to himself.

But it felt like a command, because before the energy beam could hit the mountain...

*ROAR*

A roar much more primal and much more powerful than apex was heard and along with that came a massive influx of shadow energy. The barrier which was originally translucent became completely opaque, glowing with a black light.

It obstructed the senses of the gang who were charging towards the dome.

They couldn’t see it.

But Sam could.

"YES!"

Sam exclaimed. He was just short of screaming it at the top of his lungs.

In front of him, on the screen, he saw another creature emerging out of the shadow world.

The same creature as the apex. Just the shadow version. And it’s roar was the one that blocked the hit.

The shadow apex, came out and stood right in front of the apex. It was exactly the same as the apex, even the glowing energy scales. The only difference was its shadow form. And unlike most of the shadows, this one had a glow in its eyes.

A glow that indicated it wasn’t merely a shadow. It was a creature that had its own sentience.

And Sam confirmed it, when the shadow apex turned its head towards the mountain. As if it could look through the mountain and directly at Sam.

But Sam didn’t feel nervous or threatened. Instead he was happy.

Because that action just proved another one of his theories.

*ROAR*

The regular apex, now felt a lot more emotions that it thought it was capable of having.

It was nervous, afraid, and a tad bit curious as well. Its tiny brain couldn’t comprehend the shadow apex in front of it. But it knew one thing that for sure. It had to fight this thing.

Its instinct was screaming to kill the shadow apex and it got into action immediately.

It jumped in with its maw open and the battle began.

The shadow apex tackled it head on as well. Both of them were swinging their tails, trying to bite each other off and using their claws to tear each other apart.

The battle was intense to say the least.

And as it progressed, the shockwaves kept on destroying the barrier and restoring it. Some of the shadow energy even slipped out of there and destroyed the surrounding vegetation. However, it did come with an advantage though.

The gang could finally see what was happening inside and they were shocked.

They felt suffocated just from the shockwaves, but even that was less of a shock than the shadow apex.

As the battle continued...

Back at Hastin village.

Yudhi who was meditating silently, suddenly got an alert.

Naka came running and said.

"Brother, signs of a new peak stage consummation creature. They are coming from an island in the southern sea. Brother Parth and Brother Bhim are already on their way. I just came to inform you, I will be leaving now."

"Okay. Be Careful."

Naka left. Yudhi looked at the south and frowned. He was surprised and curious. Because based on their monitoring there was no creature on the southern side, that was on verge of becoming a consummate peak stage.

But suddenly something appeared.

He thought of Bloody Chariot.

He thought maybe this was another appearance just like Bloody Chariot’s.

"Too many changes in a short span of time. I hope the consequences of this would be good ones."
