Journey of the Fate Destroying Emperor

Chapter 1609: Not Yet

Chapter 1609: Not Yet

’This was not supposed to happen,’ Bai Qi thought. His sight immediately shifted to the location of the Ten Thousand Buddha Haven. ’All of that and she didn’t wake up?’ Such a massive change in the world should have easily alerted the most powerful entity in the Eternal Ascension World.

As much faith as this general, known for his cruelty, believed in Ying Zheng’s ability, he also understood there was no way Maitreya would not have woken up from this chaos and turbulence.

’Someone must have intervened,’ Bai Qi analyzed, and without analyzing much, there was only one answer: Heavenly Dao. Wang Wei was not the only person who deduced that Heavenly Dao has been playing a grand scheme since the Tribulation Era. These top factions know that in the upcoming era, while Heavenly Dao still favors the native, she has no problem sacrificing all of them as long as the foreigners change their citizenship status.

’Hmm?’ Bai Qi looked over and saw a terrifying aura emanating from Wang Wei’s seal. He frowned as he noticed Wang Chong and Li Ming become restless once again. "Prepare to summon the Great Wall," he said to his companions, forcing those two to stop.

’I think he’s bluffing,’ Wang Chong said to Li Ming through divine sense. ’Let’s just fight and suppress them as swiftly as possible.’

Li Ming contemplated the best course of action, but before he made a decision, Wang Wei had already acted. A karmic line connected to the void in the distance manifested above his head. ’It seems the kid has it under control.’

Wang Wei had a serious look on his face. The assassin, or more likely, the Black Order Assassin Saint’s current reaction was not random. The latter must have detected what just occurred and was heavily interested. As a citizen of the world, the assassin was more than qualified to participate in the world’s events, which also meant the Saint could indirectly interfere.

Foreign intervention in this world’s affairs was inevitable. The benefit involved in the creation of a Destiny Center World was simply too much for the current Overlords and everybody else to eat alone. Above all, Heavenly Dao was essentially encouraging more people to intervene as she needed more destiny to complete her ascension. Regardless of the future, Wang Wei could not allow such early intervention from outsiders.

’I need your help one more time, and the fate between us will finally be severe.’

’...Fine.’

A woman of unparalleled beauty — despite the face covered she wore — materialized next to Wang Wei. As soon as she appeared, even the cold-hearted Bai Qi, who sees all life as nothing but flesh and bones, could not help but give her a passing glance.

"What should I do?" Xun Junyao asked.

"Follow my lead."

Wang Wei’s plan was simple: harness all the power with a hint of transcendence for a permanent seal. So, he started by harmonizing the [Perfection] nature of his body and Xun Junyao’s to draw its power. He then added his Transcendent Luck and all the Power of Nothingness inside his Nothingness Wheel to form the most potent seal he could muster.

A translucent cube enveloped the Earth Sphere, preparing to end all of this nonsense. The Black Order Assassin Saint seemed to feel something and released even more power. Unfortunately, Blue Ember was still a Paragon, meaning there was a limit to how much power her vessel could utilize before being destroyed.

The cube solidified into a white metallic surface, signaling the complexion of this seal. Wang Wei’s face became paler than winter snow, and Xun Junyao almost fell from the sky. However, Wang Wei didn’t have time for all of this. He immediately closed his eyes to sense their Fate Line. He waved his finger and severed it without any hesitation.

A broken sound echoed between Heaven and Earth, followed by a peaceful aura emanating from both of them. Wang Wei was free, and so was Xun Junyao. From now on, they had no restraint or qualm about pursuing other people to ensure a rich and fulfilling love life.

With such a clear mind, Xun Junyao immediately felt the urge to cultivate. So, she set up some basic protection before closing her eyes. Then, in a matter of minutes, her cultivation rose from 94% to 98%. However, even with such absurd progress, she was not the primary focus.

After so many years of this thing looming over his head, Wang Wei finally built enough karma between them to sever their connection, and it was just in time before the disaster. He has made many predictions on how this love fate line would be used to force him into a relationship with Xun Junyao, and the answer was kind of obvious.

Just like in the other timeline, Wang Wei and her would be entangled in many life-and-death situations together, forcing them to develop feelings. Wang Wei would love to believe that with his personality and iron will, he would never fall for such a ploy. However, that would be underestimating [Fate], and he wouldn’t make such a mistake.

In his predictions with the highest possibility of becoming real, he fell in love with Xun Junyao because his soul and [Existence] were injured, and he lost all his memories. His new self fell in love with her, and by the time he regained his memories, it was too late. When he tried to erase those emotions, it shattered his psyche and created a second persona, which he eventually separated from himself. In the end, that persona became another entity with his face and lived happily ever after with Xun Junyao.

Wang Wei’s newfound freedom was a nourishment to his mind, allowing him also to enter a state of epiphany. In just a matter of minutes, his aura drastically improved as he perfected his last ultimate skill. The foundation for his Time Mark Skill was still fate. He created a way for his ChronoSpirit to use divination to find his opponent’s Time Mark and kill them in the required period.

This was the moment. The time when Wang Wei finally entered the highest echelon of power of the old era. In just a few seconds, Heaven and Earth will bless him with the title of [Primal] and optimize his soul. However, Wang Wei forcefully stopped the creation of the technique just as he reached 99.999% and opened his eyes. Li Ming and Wang Chong looked at him in puzzlement, and they were not the only ones.

Bai Qi and the Grand Preceptor wanted to intercept him, but they sensed a third aura locking them, which was probably a warning from Qiyuan. Wang Wei did not explain. He still remembered the issue of his Time Nexus, so he would not stupidly become a Primal in such an open area. He’ll wait until everything here is finished and do it in a secure location surrounded by people he trusts. The good news is he can do it at a moment’s notice, meaning he should reach that level before the disaster.

"Thank you for your help," Wang Wei said.

"No, I should be the one to thank you," Xun Junyao replied. This epiphany was not just an increase in cultivation, but a spiritual awakening. All her life, Xun Junyao’s behavior was determined by things she could not control. Whether it was her beauty imposed on her by Grand Dao, or [Fate] who has long chosen who her love was, she’s only been reacting and accepting whatever life has thrown at her.

She has never taken the time to think of herself, to consider what she wanted, or who she wanted to be. But all of this stops now. From now on, she will not let the world or anyone else’s views of her dictate what she does. She will discover herself and live by her own values.

Wang Wei was surprised. For a brief moment, he did not see Wu Hong’s face when he looked at the upper half of Xun Junyao’s face. Instead, he saw a blurry image, like a mosaic picture from a video game. "Congratulations on your self-discovery."

Xun Junyao smiled, which Wang Wei noticed was different from her natural and effortless, enchanting smile, but a calmer, more peaceful, and down to earth one. A smile that a human could make, instead of this otherworldly beauty that embodies the perfect creation.

"Tell the Empress I would like to talk once this is all over."

"I will," Wang Wei gently nodded. Despite how negatively their fate was intertwined, he had no ill will toward Xun Junyao. He hoped she would find happiness and prosperity, preferably as a member of the Origin Seal Continent.

After watching her teleport away, he exhaled deeply before focusing on the white cube. He waved his hand to put it away, then focused on his ancestors. "We can talk once all of this is over."

"No problem," Wang Chong smiled.

"We will take care of things here, so you can rest."

"Thank you," Wang Wei nodded. He was not a true primal, whose soul had been optimized, so he was exhausted. Plus, he did not dare use too much of the reserve soul energy for today’s battle.
