Chapter 3696: Repairing

Chapter 3696: Repairing

Taking advantage of this opportunity, Fang Heng released his perception and carefully captured the aura ripples emitted by the God-level divine statue.

The power of the god core...

Interesting.

Fang Heng raised an eyebrow and muttered to himself.

As the divine authority energy fused into the statue, he sharply sensed a special fusion force.

This power seemed capable of merging different attributes.

The holy, undead, and hell powers also seemed to be fused using a similar method.

However, this fusion state was still not perfect.

As cracks on the surface of the divine statue healed one after another, the coercion it emitted grew increasingly stronger.

Two huge fissures were visibly shrinking.

After a full ten minutes, the final thin crack completely closed, and the entire divine statue suddenly erupted with a piercing blue light.

A vast coercive pressure surged out from the statue, forming invisible ripples that spread outward. Several high-tier priests with weaker mental strength in the back were struck by the pressure and immediately collapsed to their knees, gasping heavily.

Xavier stared at the fully restored divine statue, his pupils shrinking to pinpoints as his lips trembled slightly. "It succeeded... Island Lord, it succeeded!"

Regin also stared at the god, his face filled with shock.

When he first heard Lyanna confidently claim she could repair the divine statue, he had thought it was absurd and had only treated it as a trial.

He had not expected it to actually succeed.

And it had taken only ten minutes.

He had originally thought such a repair would take at least several days, with countless possible mishaps in between.

After a brief moment of shock, Regin quickly regained his composure.

He turned his head subtly and glanced meaningfully at his two trusted subordinates.

The two priests immediately understood and joined the surrounding priests in casting barrier spells.

A pale blue light curtain rose instantly, completely sealing off the area around the divine statue and isolating Fang Heng and Lyanna outside the barrier.

Lyanna frowned and was about to speak, but Fang Heng raised his hand to stop her.

"The two of you have worked hard. I need to inspect the divine statue first."

Regin spoke as he took a deep breath, signaling his followers to use hooks to lift the divine statue and place it beside the extreme cold spring. He then personally entered the defensive barrier and carefully examined the statue inch by inch.

The divine power flowed smoothly.

The cracks had completely disappeared.

No abnormal energy residue was found, nor any sign of tampering.

It was done.

The repair had gone far better than he had expected.

Regin felt a surge of joy in his heart.

No—he could not be too happy yet.

He forcibly suppressed his excitement.

He knew all too well what the other two main islands’ island lords were like.

Once they learned that the Tide of Eternal Night possessed a fully restored God-level divine statue, they would definitely become jealous.

They would undoubtedly use various righteous-sounding excuses to jointly pressure him and demand redistribution of control over the statue.

They might even attempt to seize it outright after the battle against the false god’s followers.

This divine statue had to be firmly controlled.

"It has been repaired perfectly."

After a brief moment, Regin had already formed a plan. He turned around, a gentle smile appearing on his face, and respectfully cupped his hands toward Fang Heng and Lyanna.

"Your divine craftsmanship is remarkable. The Tide of Eternal Night will remember this favor."

Regin spoke sincerely, lowering his posture significantly, even treating Fang Heng—the "assistant"—with equal courtesy.

Fang Heng, however, remained expressionless and said nothing.

Perhaps due to the demonic seed within him, he could clearly sense the burning greed in Regin’s heart.

"However—" Regin continued, changing his tone, "now that the divine statue has just been restored, for safety reasons, we still need a full inspection. That will take some time."

"The two of you must be exhausted from the repair. Colin, arrange the best rooms on the island for Lady Lyanna and this gentleman to rest well."

"Yes!"

Lyanna frowned and said, "Island Lord, although the divine statue has been restored, it still needs an awakening ritual before it can be used in battle. The frontline situation is urgent..."

"In times of great crisis, we must proceed with caution." Regin interrupted her, his tone firm and unquestionable. "Rushing may lead to mistakes. I will discuss the specific arrangements with the other two main islands before making a decision. Please rest for now. I will inform you as soon as there is news."

Lyanna wanted to continue speaking, but Fang Heng stopped her with a look.

She swallowed her words.

"Thank you, Island Lord. We understand."

Fang Heng nodded politely at Regin and left the extreme cold spring cavern with Lyanna under the guidance of a priest.

Regin watched their figures disappear into the tunnel and slowly withdrew his smile.

Xavier found it somewhat strange.

From Lyanna’s attitude toward that assistant, it almost seemed like Lyanna was the subordinate instead.

Soon, everyone else left.

Only Xavier and Regin remained in the cavern.

Regin stood with his hands behind his back, staring at the fully restored God-level divine statue in silence for a moment before speaking.

"Xavier, how confident are we in repelling that false god?"

Xavier thought for a moment and shook his head. "Island Lord, I dare not speculate."

"Speak honestly."

"Ninety percent."

"Ninety percent..." Regin murmured. "That is enough."

Xavier’s heart tightened. "What do you mean, Island Lord...?"

"Xavier, publicly we will still send a normal reinforcement force to the front lines," Regin said slowly, turning around with a deep gaze. "But the true elite will remain on the island. And most importantly, not a single word about the restored God-level divine statue is to be revealed."

Xavier’s pupils shrank.

He was not foolish. Cold sweat immediately slid down his back.

"Island Lord is wise!"

He lowered his voice and spoke quickly. "If the alliance wins, the divine statue will not need to be used at all. We keep our trump card without any additional loss. If they lose..."

"Heh, better if they lose," Regin interrupted softly, almost to himself. "The elite forces of the other two main islands will be heavily weakened. Then the Tide of Eternal Night will step in with the God-level divine statue to clean up the situation. At that point, all three islands will be under our control."

Xavier took a deep breath and bowed deeply.

"I understand. I will arrange it immediately."

"Good. You will handle the details." Regin waved his hand. "Go. And keep those two under close watch. Remember, the restoration of the God-level divine statue must not be leaked in any way."

"Yes!"
