Chapter 6081, Disciplinary Hall
Author: Silavin
The Disciplinary Board was based not on the surface but underground, in the Disciplinary Hall. Yang Ji and Yang Xu did not know why their Father had placed it here, but the appearance it gave did strike fear into others.
Chains would be hung up on the walls, with skulls decorating the place. If they were fake, they were certainly well designed. But, it would most likely be easier to obtain real ones instead. Since no sunlight touched this land, it was naturally dark, with only Luminous Pearls and blue flames lightning up the place. With the strange howling and screams from below, it certainly made the place look like this was where death would slumber.
Yang Ji and Yang Xu were being escorted down by two members of the Disciplinary Board. As though to make a show, they had been escorted all the way from their dorm to this underground world without teleporting. Just this process alone had taken a few hours, which means it was already close to evening outside.
Along the way, the Twins were naturally talking to each other, just that it was through their Divine Sense. One was enraged and cursing, while the other was trying to calm her down. As for the two teachers escorting them, they mostly kept their silence. After all, this was the first day. They did not think that their assigned role, as members of the Disciplinary Board, would be put to work so quickly after class…
Furthermore, all teachers had been briefed about the identity of these two. It had to be mentioned that not all of Yang Kai’s children had received such attention, just the Twins. After all, in general, none of the others really caused that much trouble–though to be fair, not like they could cause much trouble with their limited strength. With the Twins’ mastery over the Dao of Space and Dao of Time, it was no wonder ‘incidents’ happened.
The two teachers quickly escorted them into a room, where the Head of the Disciplinary Board sat.
The room was large, enough to fit two classes. Yet, most of the space inside had been decorated by bones of exotic Monster Beasts skulls. If there were paintings, they would all be in red, as though made by blood. Naturally, there was an eerie feel to it, more intense than the outside. Even Yang Ji and Yang Xu could not help but feel unnerved by it.
In front of the twins was a large desk made of bones.
When the figure turned around his seat from the large sphere behind him, Yang Ji and Yang Xu had their eyes opened wide.
“Uncle Shi!?” Yang Ji and Yang Xu both exclaimed.
Uncle Shi, also known as Wu Kuang, famed as the Heaven Devouring Great Emperor. He was the only survivor of the ten first Open Heaven Realm Masters, who taught the Human Race how to cultivate.
To call him an ancient fossil would be degrading how ancient he was. After all, he was already around before the rise of the Human Race, during the era where the Divine Spirits ruled.
He was naturally an illusionary figure, who many might not even know the existence of. However, he had met the Twin before, since he was the man that their Father had consulted in regards to their innate Cultivation Technique, the Heaven Earth Symmetry Cultivation Technique.
From what the Twins knew, Uncle Shi was an unparalleled expert on cultivation techniques. He was the one who made the infamous Heaven Devouring Battle Law, which was known as the most powerful and evil technique, and about half of all known Secret Techniques in modern times.
They had only met him a few times, and during those times, it was mainly just him trying to deduce the origins and effects of the Heaven Earth Symmetry Cultivation Technique.
In the end, Shi did gain some insights and had imparted a simplified version of a portion of the technique before leaving. He had some guesses that there was a connection between the Profound Source Gate and this cultivation technique. However, the Twins remained unaware of this.
After he left, the Twins had not seen him since. Not until today at least.
“What are you doing here?” Yang Ji asked, curious.
It had to be mentioned that at this point, most children would cry or pee themselves. After all, the aura of an expert of Shi’s level was Soul crushing. Even more so, due to the evil nature of the Heaven Devouring Battle Law, the aura he exposed had a malicious and vile nature to it.
In fact, its effects could be seen on the two teachers, who could not help but tense up. Despite their cultivation being higher than the Twins, they were more unnerved by Shi’s aura than them. The Twins seem mostly unaffected by it.
Shi soon withdrew his aura, gave a nod to the two teachers and dismissed them, going so far as to seal off the room before he started to speak.
“Good to see that you two are well. Looks like I’m going to have to work for twenty years now thanks to you two.” There was defeat in his tone as Shi gave a sigh. “To think that you two would get into trouble on your first day. Yang Xue and Yang Kai were right, you two really are trouble markers.”
“It was not our fault.” Yang Xu immediately shot back.
“Yes, yes, like how you two did not just destroy an alleyway within the school.” Shi rolled his eyes. He reached out his hand and the large sphere at the back of the room lit up. On it showed the current scene of destruction, the alleyway.
“Do you take my eyes for those of a fool? Though the school will repair these damages on its own over time, we still have rules here. Yet, you two wantonly unleashed Space Principles to crush a common area.” Shi reprimanded, unleashing pressure which would force even Dao Source Realm Masters onto their knees.
However, as predicted, the Twins still managed to stand upright, seemingly almost unaffected by the pressure.
“Seems like you two are still able to use your cultivation. How?” Shi asked with his eyes sharp, and at each word, the pressure increased.
Yang Ji and Yang Xu could feel their bones creaking at this point. They were still able to stand, but the pressure was indeed noticeable now.
Yang Xu readily admitted, “The Grand Array doesn’t work on us.”
Instantly, the pressure on them subsided. Since it was so weak, it was obvious Shi only did it to show off his authority, not wishing to cause them any harm.
“Like I thought.” Shi gave a nod and then walked towards the Twins. He placed his hand out and told them, “Tell her to come out.”
“Her?” Yang Ji pretended not to know what he was talking about. However, Shi immediately explained. “Who else? That being that calls herself the Heavenly Demon Queen. Call her out.
Your Aunt Yang Xue had already informed me about what happened in the Profound Source Gate, and your Mother Su Yan has told me in greater detail. There is no need to hide her existence from me.”
Yang Ji looked at Yang Xu, who was also looking back at him. Soon…
“Cease your endless chattering. You merely require me to grace this man with my presence, no? Fine.” Suddenly, the Heavenly Demon Queen came out, her voice only to the Twins.
The Twins were truly children, if they could not force her out, they would annoy her till she got out…
When Shi caught sight of her, he gave a profound nod and circled around her, like an appraiser viewing a priceless gem. “I did catch sight of you using the Viewing Orb, but you are a truly peculiar being. You are clearly not of this world, but your aura is perfectly intertwined with the Twins. How interesting…”
“At least your eyes are no mere decorations. Speak, what compels you to seek me?” The Heavenly Demon Queen asked, side-eyeing him as he went round her, completely relaxed, certain he could not do anything to her.
“You are not afraid of me. Seems like anything I do to you would also bring harm to the children. Yet, you are conscious of their Father, and not their Mother. If I could, I would dissect your Soul to see your memories.” Shi said, his words cold and unnerving, as though he was looking at an experimental test subject rather than a person. After all, from his perspective, the Heavenly Demon Queen was a foreign entity, that might be hostile, who could be said to have taken the Twins as hostages.
“I am quite certain you did not summon my presence merely to issue hollow threats through trivial rhetoric.” The Heavenly Demon Queen shot back, not backing down in the slightest.
“Then, if we are to begin, tell me what made you so afraid of their Father?” Shi grinned awaiting a response. Though, as expected, she did not answer.
“Seems like any question that inconveniences you will just be met with silence. Oh well, how typical. Go back. I’ve already figured out the most important points just from your presence.” Shi stopped looking at her and turned his attention to the large sphere.
In the meantime, the Heavenly Demon Queen just gave *hmph* and retreated back into Yang Ji.
It could be seen from the side that Yang Xu was celebrating with a wide grin.
Then, there was silence in the room. Shi seemed to be in deep thought, while the Twins did not dare to interrupt him.
It took a while before Shi shook his head and waved his hand against the sphere. There, a new image appeared, which took Yang Ji and Yang Xu by surprise.
There, on it was the image of the very boy who had disappeared from their sight earlier today. He was walking normally through the school as though nothing had just happened to him.
“It’s him.” Yang Ji exclaimed, and Yang Xu asked, “He’s okay?”
“Why do you think your only punishment is going to be about using your powers and destroying school property? If he had died, I can swear to you that even your Parents won’t be able to save you.” Shi coldly stated, offering no excuses.
Though cultivators would die seeking opportunities, this was a school. It was not a Sect. As the now Head of the Disciplinary Board, he would naturally be the one to enforce the rules.
Naturally, this was but one of the deals he had made before he accepted this position: to be left alone in how he handled cases. After all, he did not wish for those annoying Parents to get in his way of disciplining children. That was for the Principal to deal with.
Besides, losing him was equivalent to losing an entire library of Secret Techniques and Cultivation Techniques. Would the school really be willing to refuse such requests?
“No, Uncle Shi, we didn’t think we would be able to kill him. Just that… he vanished. We don’t even know how he did it. He really just vanished right in front of us.” Yang Ji stated, confused as he recalled the events that played out earlier. [He really did vanish, even after we sealed off Space.]
“Vanished? Tell me more about it.” Shi’s eyes narrowed. After all, after the Twins sealed off that Space, before they collapsed it, he had not been able to see anything that happened inside.
