Immortal Path to Heaven

Chapter 871 - Blood Meridian Awakened

Chapter 871: Blood Meridian Awakened

King Kong followed the tree person closely and walked for an unknown distance.

It was a Venerable One that had overcome 6 Heavenly Thunderbolts, hence it was effortless for it to roam around in the Forest of Death.

At last, when the tree person walked to a precipice, its leaves fluttered and rustled in the absence of wind. Its feet untangled into countless pitch-black roots after a brief moment and spread deeper into the rocks underground to be rooted.

The untypical scene was enough to make one appalled.

Multi-armed King Kong went several rounds around the tree person with a dark face, and it released a violent aura. It really wanted to exert all of its force to crush the tree into powder, but the thought of its master and Big Yellow—its good friend—being swallowed forced itself to suppress its anger.

It had pondered for a long time, but it still could not find a way to get inside.

Nonetheless, it was then when the giant tree moved out of the blue, where its branches and leaves shook, causing leaves to fall.

Quickly after, a dark hole opened up from the middle. It looked hideous like a hole being ripped on the ground, and the entrance was so dark that it looked like it could suck one’s mind.

Multi-armed King Kong was elated, and it stepped forward without any hesitation. Subsequently, an enormous suction force was released to entangle the king kong and suck it in.

Inside the underground palace, Ou Yangming and Big Yellow looked dumbfoundedly at the massive skeleton.

The skeleton was imperfect as if it was only a part of a humongous beast. Even so, it still gave off an indescribably fearsome prestige, such that one would not be able to stand up straight in front of it.

Ou Yangming’s face took on a weird expression. If he was not mistaken, the skeleton should be an astounding thing. It should not appear in the Spiritual Realm, but it had somehow fallen into this realm.

After pondering for a while, Ou Yangming retrieved an interspatial band and swung it in front of the skeleton.

He had many interspatial bags, but the 2 interspatial bands were the only ones that could accommodate this skeleton.

Nevertheless, just as the interspatial band released its energy, an unbelievable aggressiveness suddenly burst out from the skeleton and blocked the interspatial energy outside. It was as though the lifeless skeleton was refusing to be absorbed by the band.

Ou Yangming was slightly moved. The giant head in his sea of consciousness exploded and released the Dragons’ power.

Next, the shaky skeleton that was releasing its mightiness stopped. After sensing the giant head’s aura, it somehow settled down strangely.

Almost at the same time, extremely strong information gushed into Ou Yangming’s mind.

The Solitary Thought Skill!

A few big words flashed in Ou Yangming’s mind and made him dazed for a while.

Based on the information from his sea of consciousness, he knew the so-called Solitary Thought Skill was a secret mental power cultivation technique.

Despite that, not every living being could cultivate this secret technique.

This was because the secret technique belonged to the Dragons. Without the Dragons’ bloodline or abilities, one would not be able to find the threshold at all.

Ou Yangming exhaled deeply. He was stunned when he opened his eyes.

Big Yellow was also squinting its eyes and seemed to be deep in thoughts.

It was incredibly rare to see such an expression on Big Yellow’s face. Ou Yangming wondered and immediately understood that the fellow had definitely received the same treatment as he did.

Sure enough, Big Yellow turned around and asked, “Lil’ Ming, what’s the Solitary Thought Skill? It seems amazing!”

Ou Yangming could not help but laugh. Just as he was about to answer, his face changed.

A bright light was emitted from the interspatial band, which finally absorbed the skeleton that had calmed down. At the spur of the moment, a black hole appeared above the skeleton.

Following that, a figure fell from the hole.

“King Kong?” Ou Yangming was in disbelief. “Why are you here?”

The king kong’s eyes lit up right away. “Master, I finally found you!”

It explained to Ou Yangming everything that happened outside, and the young fellow instantly understood that its sudden appearance was surely related to the Dragons’ skeleton.

Having said that, King Kong fell too late and missed the Solitary Thought Skill. It was worth noting that the secret cultivation skill was very odd, by which it could not be passed on to another by mouth before one managed to learn it.

Needless to say, Ou Yangming was dubious about this. Even if he successfully cultivated it and could easily pass it on to someone else, King Kong would not be able to cultivate it without the Dragons’ abilities.

He shook his head and said, “Big Yellow, let’s go.”

Big Yellow responded to him, then it twitched its nose and continued to walk.

Ou Yangming did not know if it found something good again, but the fact that it kept walking made him and the king kong look forward to what might come.

Throughout their journey, Ou Yangming was in awe of the boundless underground palace. He wondered who had built it and even left the Dragons’ remains inside. The ability was truly terrifying.

The underground palace had unknowingly been filled with mists, where lights from the sky were also blotted out.

Eventually, the mists became denser, and it was not until 15 minutes later a ruined palace appeared in front of Ou Yangming and his companions. Moreover, a dim light spot appeared in the young fellow’s spiritual world.

Ou Yangming scoffed coldly, and a fleeting luster was seen in his eyes as he released his mental power at the same time.

He sighed deeply after a brief moment. There was actually another universe beneath the small palace, and the giant head in his sea of consciousness was also agitated at the moment.

There was an old aura inside the main hall, and a simple restriction was set up there. As soon as Ou Yangming waved his sleeve and got close, countless black mists drifted in the air and blocked his path ahead. He changed his direction and continued to move forward but no matter where he went, the mists blocked him and followed him like maggots on a corpse.

Ou Yangming furrowed his eyebrows and knew he could not get around them. He released his momentum and crouched halfway, then he locked his right ring finger and thumb together to draw a grey arc in the air. On the other hand, the young fellow clenched his left hand into a fist and pushed outward. A black fist shadow that seemed to have come from ancient times appeared, where it let out a swift black light and afterimages that quickly overlapped. Wild grasses around it swayed unsteadily as a result.

“Lift the seal!” Ou Yangming focused and yelled. In a flash, his long robe fluttered without the wind’s presence, then a passage suddenly appeared in the main hall.

A cold wind was blown out of the passage, and it carried a little moisture.

Ou Yangming smiled when he looked at the passage in front of him.

The passage was deep and dark, where the walls on both sides bulged and were in a dim color. When a cold wind blew out from deep inside the passage, water dripped from the protruding area at the top of the passage, and it gave off a cold feeling.

Ou Yangming retrieved a flame stick from his interspatial back and lighted it up. The fire was dim and unstable but when it reflected the young fellow’s figure on the uneven stone wall, the figure had an ancient and mysterious charm to it.

Soon enough, a spiritual fountain appeared in front of them. The fountain was about 0.3 square meters, the water was rippling inside, and numerous spirit fishes were swimming happily inside.

At the center of the spiritual foundation, a red spiritual medicine seemed to have been rooted there. It absorbed half of the spiritual Qi from the water and was thriving. All of a sudden, the spiritual herb emitted a dense light that cloaked everything around it with a layer of luster. Brilliant multicolored lights were seen everywhere, and it was a gorgeous view when the lights were reflected on the water. Furthermore, a pleasant smell was released from the spiritual medicine. As its holy light filled the air, Ou Yangming and his companions felt like they were in paradise.

Ou Yangming gasped twice as the spiritual medicine had exceeded his imagination.

Without warning, Big Yellow gulped. It darted out like a grey vortex and leaped over the spiritual fountain to swallow the unknown spiritual medicine. This happened as swift as a sudden clap of thunder. Consequently, the big yellow dog’s body was covered with electric lights, and rattles that sounded like beans being fried were heard. It could not stop whining.

Ou Yangming’s face changed, and he exclaimed, “Oh no, it’s a Dragon Saliva Herb!” He suddenly recalled the plant’s origin and knew things were bad.

Without any hesitation, he opened his interspatial bag and retrieved a red fruit. The fruit was only the size of a toddler’s fist, but it carried an unusual light and was exceptionally red.

“Big Yellow, catch!” He shook his wrist and tossed it at Big Yellow.

The big yellow dog rolled its tongue and swallowed the fruit right away.

A magnanimous spiritual power burst out from the fruit at once, and it surged like a restless river as it kept flushing Big Yellow’s tendons and meridians to eliminate the impurities inside its body. Afterward, its body released multicolored lights, making it look like it was enveloped by mists.

After some time, Big Yellow’s aura was approaching that of a high-rank spirit beast without a limit. It was only a step away from that boundary, and it felt comfortable at the moment as if every cell inside its body was submerged in a hot spring.

It took about 10 breaths for the lights on Big Yellow’s body to dim. The space was no longer dark as various lights shone down from the sky, making this place look immensely bright.

Concurrently, an invisible airwave swept in all directions. Its fur stood up like steel needles, which was hideous, whereas the spiritual power inside its tendons and meridians elevated its momentum like a rapid river. In particular, it vaguely seemed like a pair of black horns were going to emerge on the big yellow dog’s head.

King Kong was concerned. It took half a step forward and was about to make a move when Ou Yangming stopped it with his gaze. He looked like he was thinking as he noted calmly, “Let’s watch a while longer—this might be an opportunity.”

The Dragon Saliva Herb’s essence kept assimilating into Big Yellow’s flesh, blood, and even its soul.

Plenty of black threads appeared all over its body and drowned it completely. In the blink of an eye, they kept closing in and wrapped it tightly such that it looked like a giant silkworm cocoon. Additionally, the veined patterns on the cocoon carried a vague imposing feeling and were dazzling to see.

Inside the cocoon, Big Yellow’s eyes turned cold and unfeeling.

A fearsome aura was released from the big cocoon. It was not majestic, but even Multi-armed King Kong’s heart turned cold. This was a bloodline suppression!

The Dragon Saliva Herb had a dragon’s heart as its core and the spiritual fountain as its base. If a beast were to swallow it, one would have a tiny chance to awaken the Dragons’ bloodline inheritance.

It was said that the dragon had 9 sons[1], which were Chiwen, Pulao, Taotie, Jiaotu… This Dragon Saliva Herb had Jiaotu’s heart[2] as its core and was grown over 1,000 years.

The veined patterns on the big cocoon were mysterious. Before long, it transformed into black mists and dispersed, then Big Yellow placed its paws together like a human and opened its eyes. Its eyes looked like they were filled with innumerable mysterious theories, but they quickly went back to normal. That said, 2 pitch-black horns grew on top of its head and were rather bizarre.

Ou Yangming and King Kong looked at each other. They knew an unbelievable and drastic change had occurred to Big Yellow, and that its bloodline became unordinary from this point onward.

Big Yellow roared after a long time and stood up. Its size remained the same, but its intrinsic qualities became entirely different.

Ou Yangming looked deeply at the big yellow dog and said with a smile, “Very well—you did well. Let’s continue…”

[1] This comes from a Chinese legend, which states that the Chinese dragon has 9 sons that don’t look like dragons and have their respective appearances and characters

[2] Jiaotu is known as the dragon that looks like a conch and doesn’t like to be disturbed
