Chapter 3561: Medusa (27)
The canyon-like cracks had destroyed Athens and caused the Temple of Athena to vanish, buried within the massive chasm.
From that moment on, the city of Athens was gone, and the twelve Olympians were missing one of their own.
Zeus watched the scene of Ning Shu standing atop the giant dragon. She possessed a graceful figure, her skirt fluttering in the wind as she stood with her hands behind her back. She looked like a beautiful young lady, yet she was merely a lowly human.
It seemed she had originally been Athena’s priestess, but now she was hunting Athena down to the very end. Was Poseidon next?
In terms of relationships, Athena was his daughter and Poseidon was his brother. Even though Poseidon was a hot-tempered brother who was ambitious enough to want to pull Zeus from his throne as King of the Gods, that was a family matter.
Zeus could punish Poseidon, but that didn’t mean a tiny human could just go around slaying gods at will. This was an unforgivable offense.
Zeus drove his chariot toward Poseidon’s undersea palace.
Since that human girl was able to annihilate Athena, Poseidon was in danger.
This was essentially a slap in the face to all the gods.
Although the gods were too numerous to count, and one or two of the twelve Olympians could be replaced by promoting others, this was an absolute disgrace. If two principal gods were killed by a human, would humanity still feel any awe or reverence for the divine?
Would humans still believe in the gods?
This wasn’t just a simple matter of a dead god. It concerned the entire pantheon and the personal interests of every single deity.
Zeus’s chariot moved with incredible speed. Lightning flashed around him, and everywhere he passed, dark clouds gathered and torrential rain fell, even flooding some areas.
Ning Shu stood at the edge of the sea and walked straight into the water. She moved as if she were on level ground, her skirt not getting the least bit wet as she walked through the ocean.
The seawater was salty and damp. All sorts of fish swam past her, some as small as a finger and others massive monsters that swallowed countless smaller fish in a single gulp.
The sea was filled with sound waves inaudible to the human ear, which was the unique way marine creatures communicated.
There were even many shipwrecks, some containing crates of gems and gold coins.
Once she finished with Poseidon, she planned to come back for some treasure hunting. Eating, dressing, and traveling all cost money. She was a ‘normal’ human now and needed to eat, after all.
The firebird stood on Ning Shu’s shoulder, protected by a boundary she had wrapped around it. It chirped away, sounding very surprised.
Ning Shu could hear the excitement in its voice. A bird that usually flew in the sky was now able to enter the sea.
This bird had a very low IQ. It used to be no larger than a baby’s fist, so its brain was tiny. She couldn’t really force it to be smart.
Ning Shu thought that once her mission was mostly finished and she had some free time, she might try to find herbs in this world to refine some Wisdom Pills for it.
Having a big body without a brain would only lead to it being caught and roasted by a god.
In the future, people might even come to hunt the bird. Heroes, knights, and anyone with a bit of power always wanted to slay an evil dragon or some powerful creature to show off their strength, gain worshippers, and leave their names in history.
Ning Shu arrived at Poseidon’s undersea palace. The sea god’s home was magnificent, built from crystal-clear gems.
Sirens and mermen patrolled the palace, carrying weapons and guarding the place with watchful eyes.
Ning Shu wrapped herself in a water boundary to hide her form, making herself invisible to others.
She walked boldly past the patrols and entered the palace.
The palace was incredibly luxurious. All kinds of jewelry and pearls were scattered everywhere.
The gemstones shimmered with a beautiful luster.
Poseidon was truly filthy rich. For a god with an eternal life and wealth at his fingertips, it seemed he didn’t have much use for money.
Life must be so boring and lonely for them. With nothing better to do, they just spent their time constantly sleeping around with different people.
Ning Shu wandered through the palace, looking at the various beautiful corals and shells. It was a rare and stunning undersea view.
Eventually, she began to hear faint sounds. They were suggestive and intimate.
Ning Shu rolled her eyes. It seemed she hadn’t arrived at a good time.
Poseidon’s mood was certainly lively.
Ning Shu followed the sound to a specific hall and witnessed a scene that made her eyes burn.
Poseidon was currently rolling around with a blonde beauty. He was kneeling on a couch, holding the woman by her waist.
The thick hair on Poseidon’s chest made Ning Shu feel like she was going blind, and the hair on his legs was so thick it looked like he was wearing woolen leggings.
The sight was painful. To think Medusa had been raped by such a beast—her heart truly bled for her.
Because of the boundary, no one could see her. Ning Shu walked to the side of the couch. The battle on the bed was still intense. Since Poseidon was a god, he had incredible physical stamina. The woman appeared to be a siren, given the few shimmering fish scales on her temples.
She had a curvaceous figure and an expression that was a mix of pain and pleasure. She looked as if she were in the throes of a near-death spasm, and soft sounds drifted from her lips.
the air was thick with a salty, sweet, and intimate scent.
Ning Shu stood by the bed expressionlessly. Shell bells hung from the headboard, tinkling as the couch rocked.
She began compressing her four powers to form tiny needles.
Through constant practice, Ning Shu’s needles were getting smaller and smaller. They were now as thin as a strand of hair. Previously, they had been the size of a needle used for sewing insoles, but now they were as fine as silk.
However, the power inside them was even more volatile. It was like a spring. The more it was compressed, the greater the rebound and the stronger the force.
These needles were far more powerful than the ones she had used against Athena.
Poseidon was still busy lingering with the beauty. Ning Shu flicked her finger, sending a needle flying toward him.
Poseidon sensed the danger and quickly turned his head. However, the moment he turned, the needle shot directly into the center of his brow.
His body instantly froze. A massive force exploded within his mind. The sensation was equivalent to having an atomic bomb go off inside his skull.
Poseidon, who was completely naked, clutched his head. The woman beneath him was terrified by his sudden state and fled before she could even put on her clothes.
Poseidon let out an agonized roar. Huge waves rose on the surface of the ocean, one after another, crashing against the land.
Ning Shu pointed a finger, forcing the entire ocean back into a state of calm.
“Who is it? Who’s there?” Poseidon was in unbearable pain from the massive force in his head. “Medusa, is it you?”
When Ning Shu had fled before, she had been invisible. With a little thought, Poseidon realized it was her.
One had to admit that gods were tough. Even with his brain tissue destroyed, he was still alive. His godhead gave him incredible power.
It seemed her timing for the explosion was off. She should have aimed to hit the godhead directly.
Ning Shu condensed several more needles and shot them at Poseidon.
Poseidon managed to dodge the needles while enduring the earth-shattering pain in his mind.
