Chapter 3166: We Haven’t Checked the Hospital Yet Right?

Chapter 3166: We Haven’t Checked the Hospital Yet, Right?

Wen Xing was indifferent to Xu Hongyuan, which made Ning Shu seem petty.

Ning Shu rolled her eyes. The monsters had prioritized attacking women. Many women in the hospital had been disemboweled. Even after the monsters were removed, the damage to their bodies was done.

Suddenly, Ning Shu thought of a place. “We haven’t checked the hospital yet, right?”

The hospital definitely had women who were transported there for treatment, and some could be carrying those monsters.

“I’ll search for hospitals,” Wen Xin said. After a moment, Wen Xing, with a serious expression, handed Ning Shu his phone. “Here’s the nearest hospital.”

Ning Shu revved the motorcycle and sped off toward the hospital.

At the hospital, Ning Shu didn’t see any red dots through her monocle, and that indicated that there weren’t any monsters nearby.

Still, she checked room by room.

Compared to the desolation of the city, the hospital was unusually busy.

“Find anything?” Wen Xing joined Ning Shu and asked. “I didn’t find anything.”

Ning Shu shook her head. “Neither did I.”

“Then let’s go to the next hospital.” Wen Xing mounted the motorcycle, and Ning Shu sat behind him. They scanned the other hospital and found nothing abnormal there, either.

Ning Shu and Wen Xing searched the hospitals in the city, one after another. While they were there, they also asked the doctors how they handled the monsters inside female bodies.

Doctors said they first killed the monsters and then disposed of them with thermal treatment.

Ning Shu and Wen Xing searched all the big hospitals in the city but found no traces of the monsters. At least, they didn’t see any red dots anywhere.

Wen Xing cracked his neck and tiredly said, “Seems like those monsters are really all gone.”

Ning Shu remained silent. She watched as a pregnant woman passed by.

The pregnant woman looked ready to give birth.

Ning Shu stopped the pregnant woman and asked, “Are you due soon?”

Ning Shu used her mental consciousness to scan the child in her womb.

Upon scanning, Ning Shu was stunned to find a soccer-ball-sized monster inside the woman’s belly.

The woman looked a little annoyed that Ning Shu had stopped her. “Oh, yeah, I’m here for a prenatal checkup. Given the time, I should be about due.”

“Didn’t you have any prenatal checkups before this?” Ning Shu asked. “Are you sure you’re pregnant?”

“Young lady, how can you say that? Of course I’m pregnant. I just returned yesterday. I left because of the monsters here, and now that the monsters are gone, I came back for the checkup.”

This pregnant woman had left the city because of the monsters and returned for the checkup, which meant she had been carrying the monster when she left.

“What’s wrong?” Wen Xing came over and asked.

Ning Shu covered her mouth and quietly told Wen Xing, “There’s a monster in her belly. The real fetus might have been eaten by the monster.”

Wen Xing quickly adjusted his monocle to look at the woman’s belly but didn’t see any target red dots.

Wen Xing frowned tightly. “Are you sure?”

Ning Shu nodded. She wondered why the monocle couldn’t locate the monster inside the woman’s womb.

“What are you trying to do? Are you going to rob a pregnant woman?” the woman said. She was wary of Ning Shu and Wen Xing, as she had heard that the city hadn’t fully regained order. Why was it taking her husband so long to park? Why wasn’t he here yet?

Ning Shu smiled and said, “Can I help you inside? It must be hard for you to walk, considering how big your belly already is.”

The pregnant woman looked at Ning Shu in suspicion, shook her head, and walked around her. “No need.”

She didn’t know these people and didn’t trust their intentions.

Ning Shu and Wen Xing followed the pregnant woman. They thought that the monster in the woman’s body would certainly be detected during the checkup.

The fact that the monster hadn’t forced its way out of the woman’s womb was an anomaly in and of itself.

However, the fact that she’d come to this hospital would definitely save her life.

“Do you think a lot of people might be carrying monsters?” Wen Xing worriedly asked.

Ning Shu sighed. She was also feeling concerned.
