The next time Wu Lingyu appeared, a few days had passed. Sima You Yue was sitting on the rocking chair, talking to Little Roar and cuddling him. Looking at her, it seemed as though she had somewhat recovered to her past state, although her eyes were still filled with a hidden sorrow and anger.

“If you weren’t going to appear, I was going to tear down this place.” She felt his presence, and spoke to him without even lifting her head.

“Is this place not good enough?” Wu Lingyu walked over.

“It is good. Too good, that’s why I want to destroy it.” Sima You Yue said. All your precious medical ingredients and treasures, I am envious of them all, so I plan to destroy them all.”

“Destroy them then, as long as you’re happy.” Wu Lingyu said, as if he didn’t care.

“How generous of you, Senior Brother.” She smiled, although her eyes betrayed her innermost feelings.

“I only have you as my sole Junior Brother, if I’m not generous towards you, to whom should I show generosity?” Wu Lingyu said. “Are you all better now?”

Sima You Yue lowered her head, her eyes cold. Better? How could she possibly be better? She will have to live with this anger and hatred for the rest of her life.

“How long have I been here for?” She raised her head again, gaining control over her emotions. In the past few days, she had been living with all the pain and anger that was bubbling from within her. Usually, when she spaced out, she would numb herself for a couple of days. But since this place had no sunrise or sunset, she could no longer tell how long she had been at that place.

“Not that long, just about ten days?” Wu Lingyu said. Although he wasn’t in the little realm, he was already in connection with the place, and he was sensitive to the changes in her feelings and her state of mind. In comparison to the spirit pagoda, this was where there was no difference.

“So it has already been ten days…” Sima You Yue caressed Little Roar. “Grandfather and the rest must be worried about me.”

“Are you planning to go back now?” Wu Lingyu asked.

“I’ll wait and see.” Sima You Yue knew that he was worried for her, but she wasn’t sure what to say to them when she returned.

“I’ve found some books for you.” Wu Lingyu did not question her decision further, and took out some books for her. “These books are for those of the divine rank. They’ll teach you training methods and other things that one needs to take note of.”

Sima You Yue received the literature and thanked him, “Thank you.” Her in her previous life had never thought that she would see the day where they would be interacting him from such close proximity, or even become his Junior Brother, or become the Young Master of the Divine Devil Valley. She recalled the first time that they had met – He was the high and mighty Holy Son, and she was just the young miss of a family from the lower powers below. At that time, she had already felt that although he looked as pure as a saint on the outside, he wasn’t as warm a person as he might have appeared to be.

“What are you thinking about?” Wu Lingyu asked. He saw that she was blanking out while her eyes remained on him, and that she had a funny gaze.

“Nothing.” Sima You Yue said, as she changed the topic. “Where is this from?”

“I got it from the valley” Wu Lingyu said. “Since I went back I asked the Old Man about your situation.” That’s true, he couldn’t always have had these books on the fundamentals of training on him. If he wanted to find the books, he would have needed to go to the Sage Pavilion or the Divine Devil Valley. But what he didn’t know was that she needed none of those books anymore.

She still received them, and kept them in case Bei Gong Tang needed them in the future.

“What did Master say?”

“He said you have both the light and dark attributes, and that maybe because it goes against the laws of nature, you got struck by lightning.” Wu Lingyu said. “But I think I lean towards Senior Uncle’s explanation.”

“Valley Master? What did he say?” Sima You Yue had always been curious about this Valley Master, whom she had never met.

“Senior Uncle said that those with the Heavenly mandate usually do get hit by lightning, and they will also receive a different treatment from the Heavens that will test them. This bolt of lightning might have been a test.” Wu Lingyu said.

Those with the heavenly mandate would be thoroughly refined – that was something that the elders of the Ximen family had also once said.

“Maybe.” Sima You Yue neither approved or disapproved of that statement. Maybe the reason why she had been struck by the lightning was due to both the reasons. But then again, it was impossible for one to guess what was unknowable. And, she had even gained the lightning attribute after being struck by lightning, so I guess there was a blessing in disguise.

“But Senior Uncle and Master did have a point that was in common.” Wu Lingyu said.

“What?” Sima You Yue saw the look on Wu Lingyu’s face, and knew that this was not going to be good news.

“They both said that since your ascending ranks had invited that lightning storm, it is likely that each time you grow in ranks that you would get struck by lightning too.” Wu Lingyu said.

Sima You Yue was extremely shocked. She might get struck each time? Why did her life have to be so tragic?

“But I guess that there is some good to being struck by the lightning. Now you have the lightning attribute in you, don’t you?” Wu Lingyu saw the solemn look on her face, and tried to comfort her.

“Do you want to try it then?” She rolled her eyes at him. His words were not comforting at all. Even if it did bring about some positives, the fact remained that the process was extremely disconcerting and painful.

As Wu Lingyu saw that Sima You Yue had regained the energy to roll her eyes at him, he started to feel relieved, and proceeded to sit next to her. “Master said that since you’ve attained the divine rank now, he wants to know when you plan to return.”

“It’s still too early to say.” Sima You Yue said.

“You Yue, now that you’ve attained the divine rank, it would be a lot better for you if you go up to train. Although the Spiritual Qi here in the continent is abundant, it does not compare to what we have up there. What’s more, if you return to the valley, there will be more resources available for you to train.” Wu Lingyu said.

“I know.” Sima You Yue said. “But now is still not the time for me to go up.”

“It might actually be good that you do not go. Recently, the Divine Devil Valley and the Cloud Cave aren’t getting along so well. If you go up, you might meet with something unpleasant.” Wu Lingyu said.

Sima You Yue thought about the time when she was in the little realm, where the Cloud Cave and the Sage Pavilion members were chasing down to murder the members of the Divine Devil Valley and the Moonbow Clan members. It didn’t seem like a spontaneous decision, but what was worrisome was that it might have been a thorough scheme from the beginning.

“Six months.” She said. Wu Lingyu was shocked. He understood that she was saying that she would go up in six months.

“I’ll come get you in six months then.” He said.

“No need.” Sima You Yue said. “Just give me a borderless compass.” A borderless compass was that little compass that Old Man Devil had given to her to enter the little realm back then. This item could allow her to create portals, allowing her to enter the Primordial Lands.

“This item is rare, but I’m sure you have one on you, right?” Sima You Yue furrowed her brows, looking at Wu Lingyu, who said nothing.

“I actually don’t.” Wu Lingyu shrugged his shoulders. “I’ll send you one I guess.”

“Alright.” Sima You Yue nodded. She forgot that he could create his own portals, and was not in need of such an instrument on him.

“You still have stuff out there that you have not yet settled right? If there’s nothing more, then you can leave first.” As she said that, she took Little Roar in her arms again and started to blank out once more. She was not yet back to her usual self, and wished to be alone to think through all the things that was running through her mind.

Because all her memories had returned to her, her entire life had to adjust to this new awareness accordingly. Mostly because now, she had more on her hands that she did back then.

The ruling family of the Yin Yang Palace… I will repay you blood for blood!
