Museum of Deadly Beasts

Chapter 747 - Random Lecture

Chapter 747: Random Lecture

“Uhm, isn’t that bad? Appraiser Lin needs to rest too. What if…” Aside from those interested, there were hesitant ones too.

After all, disturbing someone so late at night was rude.

Then, someone said, “Appraiser Lin said he would be taking consultations for a month. It may not seem long, but how much free time do you think he’ll actually have? There isn’t much going on today but we can’t guarantee that he’ll be occupied tomorrow. If we miss out today, we might not get another chance to ask for his guidance.”

It was true.

Why had all these prodigies from all over the world traveled to Jade Dragon’s Beast Appraisal Headquarters?

All for the sake of Lin Jin.

If they missed today’s opportunity, they might need to wait longer for the next one. There might not even be a next time. Hence, while the youngsters felt impulsive, they were hesitant as well, feeling conflicted about what to do.

“Why don’t we try asking? Right, let’s make some tea and use it as an excuse to see if Appraiser Lin has already slept. If he has, we’ll forget about asking, but if he hasn’t, we’ll ask. How about that?” one of the more reliable young appraisers proposed.

The group agreed in unison.

It was a very safe idea.

And so, these talented youngsters hurried to make tea. Only, they failed to consider the fact that nobody would want to drink tea late at night for no apparent reason.

Because if they did, they wouldn’t be able to sleep.

These prodigies may be brilliant when it came to beast appraising, boasting great talent and potential, but they were actually clueless in other aspects.

They went ahead with their plan and carried the tea to Lin Jin’s residence. Among these young appraisers was a sweet and demure girl. She was urged forward by the group to knock on Lin Jin’s door to check on the situation.

“Xiao Lu, you go!” the group urged. The female appraiser had no choice but to hold the tea and step forward fearfully. The others had long since hid far away to watch.

“Bunch of traitors.” Xiao Lu was green with fury. But she had to do it because she, too, wanted to seek Lin Jin’s guidance as soon as possible, to receive teachings from a celestial-like figure.

And so, she braced herself.

Taking a deep breath, Xiao Lu knocked on the door.

Right after the first knock, she heard someone calling from the inside, “Come in.”

He’s still awake!

He couldn’t have responded so quickly if he had been asleep. Feeling excited, Xiao Lu opened the door to see Lin Jin standing tall with his hands behind his back inside the courtyard. He was looking up into the night sky, basking under the moonlight as if deep in thought.

“What is it?” Lin Jin turned to see that his visitor was a young Rank 3 beast appraiser. He smiled at her. He remembered seeing her before and recognized her as one of the young appraisers who traveled far from her home country to ‘chase after her idol’, as previously mentioned by Tan Xun.

Lin Jin didn’t remember her name, only her face.

Xiao Lu said nervously, “Appraiser Lin, you must have had a tiring day, so I… no, we… we made you some tea.”

Her volume was loud enough but her logic was all over the place. Probably due to her nerves.

With Lin Jin’s current cultivation level, he already knew how many people were out there. And so he smiled and said, “Go and call the others over.”

Initially stunned, Xiao Lu quickly regained her senses and went to call her friends over.

Shortly after, Lin Jin was sitting on a chair, sipping on hot tea, while a group of young appraisers sat across from him, respectful and upright.

Without them having to voice their intentions, Lin Jin already knew why they were here.

Indeed, Lin Jin couldn’t sleep tonight. With his capabilities and status, the world probably assumed that he was free from worries and troubles.

While average folk had their problems, Lin Jin too had his fair share of problems. Even the emperor had problems, so this had nothing to do with power and status.

Lin Jin had actually been planning for the future.

It seemed like things were peaceful now. The Grassy Continent coalition was no longer a threat and every problem that required his attention had been solved. Lin Jin had a Rank 7 pet beast, and the blood ghost and ghost worms combo that were strong enough to kill profound immortals. He also had the profound-immortal-level Clear Wind Sword, and the even more powerful Four Ocean Gourd. Only a handful of issues in the world could challenge him now.

There weren’t many, but they definitely existed.

One of his considerations earlier was about Xiao Huo’s evolution.

Due to their unique situation, the blood ghost and ghost worms had no chances of ever evolving. Lin Jin already had three pet beasts now so adding a fourth was just unrealistic.

Hence, he could only place his hopes on Xiao Huo now.

The museum had actually provided Rank 8 evolution methods for Xiao Huo, but there were times that even with ideas, actually achieving the feat was incredibly challenging. It might even be harder than flying into the sky.

And Lin Jin could literally ride on clouds to fly into the sky. But it seemed like no clouds could elevate Xiao Huo to Rank 8.

Lin Jin was missing quite a few valuable ingredients. Also, all of the methods required one unique medicine.

A ‘Golden Tian Luo Pill’.

This item was a priceless treasure back in the era of immortals and incredibly difficult to obtain as it was a required medicine for profound immortals to advance to unfettered immortal realm.

The pill’s crafting difficulty was simply insane.

Back at the extraterritorial land, Lin Jin had tried asking Miao Yan Zhenren and Xuan Yue Zhenren about it, but both of them had shaken their heads upon hearing the pill’s name.

They even said it was impossible.

Not unless they returned to the immortal era. Even then, only a handful of immortals had possession of such a rare pill.

One of the loose immortals’ ancestors, Immortal Tun Yuan, a veteran unfettered immortal, had some, but he had passed away. Another unfettered immortal known as Four Ocean Buddha also had some in his temple, but he too had passed away.

The last person was Shen Yuanjun of the immortal palace. He existed in the same generation as the immortal emperor and legends had it that Shen Yuanjun was even more experienced than the immortal emperor.

Sadly, he too had passed away.

With this, all routes had been cut off. Lin Jin was anxious because without this pill, Xiao Huo’s evolution to Rank 8 was practically impossible.

Of course, he wouldn’t voice his worries to these youngsters. Since they were here to seek his guidance and he just happened to have insomnia, why not share some beast appraisal knowledge with them? That would give him something to do and distract him from wallowing in his worries and problems.

“Since it’s late, we’ll just talk about something simple,” Lin Jin said. The youngsters immediately mused, ‘Don’t just talk about the simple stuff, talk about the hard ones too. We’ll listen even if it means not sleeping tonight.’

But they dared not say that out loud. They had truly assumed that Lin Jin would only share with them simple common knowledge.

To their surprise, that wasn’t the case.

Every bit of information was extensive, phenomenal, and pure information.

Immediately, these youngsters were immersed in the lecture, perking their ears up to listen and memorize carefully so they could ponder the information later.

Time passed unknowingly. None of the youngsters realized that dawn had come. It wasn’t until they heard the crow of the rooster that they regained their senses.

Lin Jin looked up at the sky and said, “That will be all for today. Go back and get some rest.”

Having said that, he stood up and went back into his room..
