Chapter 691 - Charming Male Immortal

Chapter 691: Charming Male Immortal

Upon seeing the confusion on Lin Jin’s face, Qin Yunshang started explaining the situation. She knew what lay ahead for Lin Jin. In fact, it was Xuan Yue Zhenren who instructed Qin Yunshang to inform Lin Jin beforehand.

Xuan Yue Zhenren knew full well how bad-tempered her junior could be. She would surely try to make things difficult for Lin Jin, so it was a wise move to explain the situation to their guest from the beginning.

After hearing the circumstances, Lin Jin came to understand Qin Yunshang and Xuan Yue Zhenren’s position.

They were in a difficult position.

Truth be told, Lin Jin was not the type to suck it up after being attacked. However, since he was their guest, and after being informed in advance, he was able to prepare himself.

If Immortal Piao Yun did give him trouble, he would try to endure it. Lin Jin may be a mortal, but if he could display commendable magnanimity, he wondered if an immortal would cease her actions out of shame.

Maybe she would. After all, according to Qin Yunshang, Immortal Piao Yin was the second-in-command of the Immortal Cloud Sect’s second-in-command. Her cultivation level was just below Xuan Yue Zhenren’s.

Quite frankly, Lin Jin didn’t care about her strength. He was more concerned about the ‘Storm Beast Cave’ Qin Yunshang mentioned.

He came here with the assumption that he would be treating an immortal beast. That was what they said previously, but it seems that there was a change in facts.

The ‘Storm Beast Cave’ sounded like it was the lair of an immortal beast.

Why did they seek him out if it was a problem with the cave itself?

Could he even solve the issue?

Lin Jin was both curious and confused. Though, since he was already here, it was best to take a look first. If the problem lied with a beast, Lin Jin was confident that he could offer them a treatment method. However, if the problem was with a cave, the help he could offer was extremely limited.

Lin Jin reassured Qin Yunshang and the two resumed their journey. As they approached the sect, they saw many female immortals gathered at the entrance. They were waiting to receive their guest and Xuan Yue Zhenren stood at the front of the group.

When Lin Jin arrived, they exchanged pleasantries. Since he had grown used to living in the extraterritorial land, Lin Jin was able to maintain an elegant demeanor in front of his immortal counterparts.

Lin Jin was led inside the Immortal Cloud Sect. Sure enough, the structures here were all built on clouds. Or rather, they had blended in with the surrounding clouds.

Unlike the clouds from elsewhere, the clouds here appeared to have been refined by unique spells. Even novices who couldn’t step on clouds wouldn’t fall through them. Of course, not all clouds were made the same. Lin Jin glanced at his surroundings and noticed the variety of clouds around him

Some could support the weight of everything, even mortals. Some required a certain degree of cultivation or unique spell proficiency to step on. Otherwise, the person would just plummet to their death.

This was one of the Immortal Cloud Sect’s many traps for unsuspecting infiltrators.

From the outside, these clouds were indistinguishable from each other.

However, Lin Jin wasn’t afraid. While he ascended the stairs, he began gathering clouds beneath his feet. It didn’t matter which cloud he stepped on, he had no fear of falling.

As he was led deeper into the sect by Xuan Yue Zhenren and Qin Yunshang, he noticed how pleasant the place smelled. Female immortals in long flowing robes dotted the landscape, and there were only a handful of male immortals around. Even the male immortals were dressed neatly and gave off an effeminate vibe.

Tsk!

Lin Jin drew in a breath of cold air.

‘No wonder the Immortal Cloud Sect picked this place to establish their base. The Yin energy in this place is so strong that it needs pure sunlight to reach a balance[1].’

A group of gorgeous immortals walked past Lin Jin’s party. They were so beautiful that Lin Jin couldn’t help but steal another glance at them. At that moment, Qin Yunshang turned to tell him they were male immortals.

After letting out a gasp, Lin Jin stopped himself from turning around.

This sect was a little daunting for him.

Compared to the other immortals, the lionhearted Xuan Yue Zhenren and Qin Yunshang appeared out of place.

For a moment there, Lin Jin couldn’t differentiate whether the fragrance he smelled came from female or male immortals. He simply closed off his smelling senses and soothed his mind.

“Mr. Lin has come a long way. We’ve prepared a feast for you, so Mr. Lin…”

Interrupting Xuan Yue Zhenren, Lin Jin quickly waved. “I’m in no hurry to eat. Why don’t we take a look at the Storm Beast Cave first? Ms. Yunshang has told me about it on the way here and I think it is of great importance, so let us make haste.”

Lin Jin didn’t want to join the banquet because he was afraid that he would offend the immortals by failing to differentiate their genders.

Here in the Immortal Cloud Sect, anything was possible.

Perhaps, Xuan Yue Zhenren could be…?

Lin Jin shuddered at the possibility.

“Sure!” Xuan Yue Zhenren was touched by Lin Jin’s sincerity. She had high hopes for him, especially after hearing that Mystery Dao Sect’s Qirin had been successfully treated by him.

She had also received word of him stopping a huge bear that was tearing apart the Mystery Dao Sect.

Although she didn’t witness both incidents, they were enough to assure Xuan Yue Zhenren that Lin Jin was a competent man. Thus, she became much more courteous toward him.

Xuan Yue Zhenren led Lin Jin to their sect’s prohibited area, the Storm Beast Cave.

It was hidden deep inside the clouds, through winding paths and countless layers of white mist. If one didn’t pay enough attention, they would have lost their way here.

Laid in the recesses of these clouds were various intimidating formations. If there were any intruders, they would be dead before they even realized it.

Aside from Xuan Yue Zhenren, only three other immortals were allowed to be in their company.

One was Qin Yunshang. She was Xuan Yue Zhenren’s direct disciple, and her status within the sect was comparable to Chen Xuankong in the Mystery Dao Sect.

The other two immortals had gorgeous appearances but were dressed in male robes.

They were said to be two of the Immortal Cloud Sect’s most talented half immortals but they acted respectfully toward Lin Jin. They even asked Lin Jin questions on the way, but the latter seemed fearful of them. He would lean toward Qin Yunshang whenever he spoke.

He tried his best not to look directly at these men who were far more beautiful than women. At the same time, he prayed for Qin Yunshang to help him out.

Qin Yunshang knew that Lin Jin was behaving oddly, but she feigned ignorance, all while laughing at him in secret. It wasn’t long before they arrived at the Storm Beast Cave.

“Mr. Lin, you have to be careful later. My Senior Piao Yun has a bit of a temper. If she says anything rude later, please do not take it personally,” whispered one of the male immortals into Lin Jin’s ear.

The hair on Lin Jin’s neck was standing on their ends. The male immortal was only inches away from him, so he could see how delicate the immortal’s features were. Everything was captivating, from his sparkling eyes to his rosy lips, and his ethereal beauty.

Oh my!

Lin Jin leaned away slightly and subconsciously blurted, “Thank you for the reminder, Ms. Fairy!”

After saying that, he realized something was off.

Sure enough, the male immortal blushed. He responded softly, “Mr. Lin, you’ve mistaken. I am a man, so you can address me as ‘Brother’.”

[1] In Taoism, women are represented by the “Yin” energy, whereas men are represented by the “Yang” energy. These two forces must be present to form an equilibrium. The Sun is also of the “Yang” attribute, so in this context, a balance can be struck with the abundance of “Yin” energy.
