Chapter 599 - Creating An Ocean

Chapter 599: Creating An Ocean

Tiger Taoist nodded mindlessly. Then, Lin Jin flung his sleeve and the clear sky was suddenly covered by a gathering of clouds that turned into ominous rain clouds.

Tiger Taoist was flabbergasted.

In just fifteen minutes, a downpour covered the entire continent.

Tiger Taoist knew what Lin Jin was trying to do. He was creating rainfall using the power of the magic treasure.

It wasn’t long before he started shaking his head. “Rainfall may be able to solve the problem here for now, but it’s not a lasting solution. After the rain stops, Arid Continent will remain as it always has been.”

Tiger Taoist had been living here at Arid Continent long enough. During his days here, the continent had indeed experienced a few greater rainfalls, even some that lasted for a few days.

Besides a few floods here and there, nothing much changed in Arid Continent.

“Or could you stay here in Arid Continent and make rainfall every once in a few days, Brother Lin?”

Tiger Taoist’s question made Lin Jin ponder.

The rain stopped and the clouds dispersed.

Lin Jin knew Tiger Taoist was right.

Lin Jin looked around and found a huge valley in the distance. This formation must have been caused by an asteroid millenniums ago and if one stood on the ground, they couldn’t possibly see the shape of the entire crater. Only by standing thousands of feet above could they see the large empty basin.

Seeing this, an idea came to Lin Jin’s mind.

Moving the cloud over, he looked down as the bowl shape became more distinct. Lin Jin smiled and nodded.

“This is a great location!”

Tiger Taoist didn’t understand. “What’s a great location?”

Instead of answering his question, Lin Jin said, “Brother Tiger, wait for me here.”

Having said that, he divided the cloud and descended to the ground.

About a hundred feet away from the crater, Lin Jin stood still and closed his eyes to summon his Beast Deterrence influence. The image of a door vaguely appeared behind him as flames and blood energy engulfed his body. Even the Clear Wind Sword was humming at his waist.

The instant Lin Jin opened his eyes, an unseen force covered this entire crater spanning hundreds of miles wide.

After a brief silence, tremors began to kick up the dust in the crater. Looks like the insects and beasts living underground were trying to escape.

There were tons of insects and snakes here, even wild camels and desert goats in large hordes. They had been hiding in the dark areas but were now being chased out by Lin Jin.

It was a spectacular sight.

After the animals all escaped, Lin Jin took out the Four Ocean Gourd and tossed it up before invoking a spell.

“Ocean Formation!”

The Four Ocean Gourd shot into the clouds and grew several thousand times larger than. In an instant, a massive gourd appeared out of nowhere within the clouds.

Lin Jin’s hand gesture changed and the gourd opened with a pop before an endless stream of water poured out. From a distance, it looked like a waterfall pouring down from the heavens, and the view was simply breathtaking.

For a moment there, only rumbling sounds of falling water could be heard. Like a stream falling from the sky, this commotion startled more than half of Arid Continent.

The continent still had some expert cultivators lying in hiding, most of whom were just as strong as the monsters of Dark Wind Cave. There were traveling merchants too and they were startled as well.

In a mountain village a hundred miles away, an old Taoist rushed outside. He made a mental calculation and then his expression faltered. Summoning an eagle, he jumped onto the beast and flew toward the source of the commotion.

In a mountain cave two hundred miles to the west, a giant roc with golden wings flew toward the large gourd in the sky.

Fifty miles to the east, a caravan with a hundred ambulocetuses was journeying along a merchant path. The loud noise of pouring water from a massive gourd had frightened these travelers and their beasts. They quickly stopped to watch the scene in the sky, and even their escorts were gaping.

All their life, they had never seen anything so astonishing.

The pupils of one of the caravan’s escorts dilated. Issuing a command, he got onto a whirlwind horse and seized the reins tightly as he charged toward the source.

This whirlwind horse was so fast that it could cover tens of miles within a short period.

At that moment, stronger creatures who noticed this abnormal phenomenon all rushed over with confusion and hesitation. They were risking their lives, but they knew that this might also be a miraculous encounter. That was ultimately what persuaded them to approach the source of the commotion.

There were also people who decided against going after thinking things through.

Regardless, this scene of a heavenly gourd pouring a river from the skies would be recorded into the history books of Arid Continent.

Tiger Taoist descended beside Lin Jin and watched the scene unfold with an awestruck expression.

Despite having lived for five centuries, he had never seen anything like this.

Even his master, Daojun, had seemed incapable of using the Four Ocean Gourd to this extent. However, Lin Jin hadn’t explained this to Tiger Taoist.

After refining the Four Ocean Gourd, Lin Jin’s mastery and understanding of this magic treasure were probably above Daojun’s.

After all, he was taught a magic treasure refining method by genuine immortals of profound sects. Daojun didn’t have this same honor, or perhaps he was too busy enjoying the peak of his reign that he failed to pay this magic treasure much mind.

There were too many reasons but even after reading Daojun’s Hieroglyphic, Lin Jin couldn’t understand Daojun’s intentions. Still, because Lin Jin could fully utilize this Four Ocean Gourd, he was able to create an ocean out of thin air.

The water flowed down and had now filled up the bottom of the crater. However, it seemed like more time was needed to fill the entire crater.

“Brother Lin, yo-you’re trying to form an ocean from nothing?!” exclaimed Tiger Taoist after realization sank in.

This was indeed an act of creating an ocean out of nothing.

When Lin Jin had summoned rain earlier, he realized it was only a temporary solution. That wouldn’t be able to resolve the root of Arid Continent’s problem.

Hence, Lin Jin had the idea of creating an ocean.

This sea would surely alter Arid Continent’s geographical structure as it would become the primary water source for this desolate and dry place.

However, this water source might be a little too big.

Water continued to pour ragingly into the crater. In less than fifteen minutes, one-third of the area had been filled. The water was surging down below, but after Lin Jin retrieved the gourd, the water would slowly calm down.

Suddenly, Lin Jin turned to see a giant golden-winged roc flying over. With both wings extended, the roc was perhaps more than two hundred feet long.

What a massive creature.

A monster cultivator!

Lin Jin could instantly tell. Tiger Taoist glanced over as well and said, “Oh, I know this bird!”

Having said that, he started approaching their unexpected visitor.
