Chapter 972: Monarch of the Ocean
In the boundless ocean, a man traveled atop the tumbling waves.
“Sigh, all we wanted was a nice, peaceful holiday.”
“Big Brother An, that was the perfect holiday! There was spectacular scenery and an opportunity to flex! That was a real holiday, woof!” the miniature Da Bai argued from behind him.
“Giant An Lin, I feel like saving this many people has given our holiday more meaning and importance.” The golden-haired woman beside him sighed.
The man massed his brows with a speechless expression.
That’s right, the mysterious man who had forced back the tsunami with a single sword strike was none other than An Lin.
They were all sunbathing on the beach, only to encounter that massive tsunami. He had initially planned to lie low and have some fun, but he had no choice but to act.
“That tsunami didn’t seem like a natural disaster, and Earth’s environment has already stabilized after leveling up, so there’s no reason a disaster like that would occur,” An Lin analyzed.
“Giant An Lin, are you saying that a living being had instigated this?” Tina asked.
An Lin nodded. “That’s right. I’m currently using my divine sense to detect for any abnormalities within this ocean.”
Soon, An Lin’s expression shifted.
“There!”
He turned toward the west.
Tina immediately heeded his call and tore open a spatial passageway. All three of them then leaped into the spatial passageway.
In the next instant, they had appeared at the bottom of the ocean.
The water pressure here was immensely terrifying and could even flatten a steel board.
However, this was nothing for An Lin and the others as they had insanely powerful bodies. They continued onward as if they were walking on land.
This was the bottom of the ocean, which was completely inky-black with not even a single ray of light.
However, there was one place where a peculiar red glow shone. It was a winding underwater trench. From a distance, it looked like the sharp claw of a demon.
“Giant An Lin, why are all of these creatures so ugly?” Tina was a little scared as she looked around at all of the hideous fish swimming around her.
From an objective point of view, she could easily kill these fish.
However, these fish were all menacingly hideous.
They had won a moral victory by scaring her with their looks.
“Why are they so ugly?” An Lin was momentarily stumped before pulling an explanation out of his a*s, “Since the bottom of the ocean is so dark, no one can see each other. Therefore, they don’t take care of their appearances, and they can grow however they like.”
Tina: “…”
Da Bai seemed to have attained enlightenment as he clapped his paws together. “This underwater world is a breath of fresh air from our world, where looks are everything!”
“I wouldn’t call this a breath of fresh air!” An Lin snapped as he slapped aside a sawtooth fish that was swimming toward them.
The three of them drew closer and closer, and they finally caught sight of what the red light was.
It was a pair of crimson eyes, and it glowed like a pair of lanterns in the absolute darkness.
The mountains extending for several dozen kilometers were its body, and just a gentle whip of its tail seemed to be able to completely change the ocean currents.
This was a dragon with a mountainous head that was glaring expressionlessly at An Lin and the others.
“Have we encountered the Dragon King of the East Sea? Woof!” Da Bai was a little nervous.
“No no no, this is the Dragon King of the Pacific Ocean.” An Lin shook his head with a cold expression.
A disdainful expression appeared on the dragon’s face, and it blew a breath of air toward An Lin and the others, upon which the seawater converged to form a violent vortex around them.
Perhaps every living being here could be easily taken care of in its eyes.
An Lin aimed a violent slap at the vortex, and the seawater exploded as the vortex was torn apart in an instant. The overwhelming force of the palm continued onward before flattening the dragon’s massive head.
“Howl!”
The dragon head let loose a wail of anguish, and it felt as if it had suffered a slap to the face as its head was twisted to the side and blood spurted from its mouth.
“Hmph! Are you flexing at me?” An Lin harrumphed coldly as he made his way toward the dragon head.
The dragon’s expression finally shifted as it roared in a thunderous voice, “Who are you?!”
Tina blinked in incomprehension. “What did it say?”
“It’s speaking English, and it’s asking us who we are,” An Lin explained patiently.
“Hi! My name is Tina!” Tina made a polite self-introduction to the dragon head with a smile on her face before turning to An Lin. “Giant An Lin, please translate for me.”
An Lin’s expression darkened. “Are we here to f*cking make friends? Why do we need to make friendly self-introductions? I’m just here to teach it a lesson!”
He made his way toward the dragon head as he spoke, “I’m someone you can’t afford to mess with.”
He launched a Mountain Quaking Fist at the dragon head as he spoke.
The dragon’s expression shifted again as it opened its mouth, upon which a plume of scorching red lava erupted forth, drastically raising the temperatures of the seawater. Countless hideous fish wailed in anguish as they were cooked in the blink of an eye.
The plume of lava collided with the golden fist. The resulting explosion of energy created a vacuum at the bottom of the ocean.
Then, under the astonished gaze of the dragon head, the golden punch easily broke through the plume of lava.
Boom!
“Howl!”
The huge dragon head was knocked flying by the Mountain Quaking Fist, and its mountainous body writhed in pain.
An Lin stepped forward, and his body tore through the water to appear before the huge dragon at extreme speed.
The dragon’s expression shifted drastically as it let loose an enraged roar, “You… Howl howl howl!”
Before it even had a chance to finish its sentence, terrifying golden fists began to fall like torrential rain, each of which could force his powerful body to cave in, causing anguished howls to escape from its lips. Its gargantuan body writhed at the bottom of the ocean, stirring up violent streams of water that tore the surrounding life forms into shreds.
Fifteen minutes later, the huge dragon lay half-dead at the bottom of the ocean like a quadriplegic.
During that time, no matter how much it tried to retaliate, it could not inflict a single scratch on An Lin’s body.
It was finally in despair. This human was more powerful than itself!
“Please spare me, Senior! I have no vendetta against you! Heck, we’ve never even met, so there must be some sort of misunderstanding!” The huge dragon bowed its massive head and begged for its life with an indignant expression.
An Lin stood atop the huge dragon’s head with a cold sneer on his face. “Misunderstanding? Don’t tell me you didn’t just trigger that tsunami!”
The huge dragon faltered upon hearing this before offering a hurried explanation, “Please let me explain, Senior! There was a reason for that! Due to the movement of the tectonic plates, a mysterious ball appeared at the bottom of the ocean. I wanted to crack the ball open, but I exerted too much force and accidentally triggered a tsunami! It really wasn’t on purpose!”
An Lin was taking none of it. “So you don’t have to take responsibility just because it wasn’t on purpose? If I weren’t there, tens of thousands, maybe even hundreds of thousands of people would have died!”
The huge dragon opened its mouth to reply, only to receive another torrential downpour of golden fists.
Boom boom boom…
“Howl! Howl! Howl…”
The huge dragon’s bloodcurdling cries reverberated throughout the ocean.
Fifteen minutes later, the huge dragon lay at the bottom of the ocean. It was already on the brink of death. Aside from breathing, it didn’t want to do anything anymore.
“I was wrong, I apologize, I was wrong, I apologize…”
It repeated these words like a broken record as An Lin stood on its head.
An Lin harrumphed. “Don’t think that you’re invincible just because you’ve broken through to the Return to Void Stage! If you make another mistake, I’ll cook you with my frying pan!”
“Yes yes yes… You’re right, Senior! I’ll never make such a stupid mistake again!” The huge dragon was almost moved to the point of tears. It looked like it would live to see another day!
It was the mighty monarch of the oceans and had never been bullied like this before.
It was supposed to be the most powerful being on Earth, and it even managed to break through to the Return to Void Stage as Earth underwent its drastic transformation.
It had thought that it was invincible aside from that one creature that lived somewhere in the east. However, it had only flaunted its strength for a few days before having the living daylights bashed out of it by this mysterious human…
An Lin was quite pleased with the huge dragon’s attitude, and a smile appeared on his face. “Now then, tell me what’s the deal with that ball.”
A hesitant expression appeared on the huge dragon’s face. This ball was an extremely valuable secret to it, and it was a mystery that it was trying to unravel at all costs, even if it was at the expense of all those human lives…
When it saw a flash of golden light, its body shuddered as it spoke in a panicked voice, “I’ll talk! I’ll tell you everything!”
