The Tempestuous Consort – Wilfully Pampered by the Beastly Highness

Chapter 342

Chapter 342: Shen Qingdai’s last words

Dai’er had passed away. Xi Jin was ready to die alone, but the one who was encouraging him to remarry was Dai’er herself. The way he was feeling now, it was like she’d stabbed him in the deepest part of his heart.

“First Miss really said all of this. She also wrote a letter in blood and asked Miss to give it to you. But Miss did not do it. She even asked me to burn the letter, but I didn’t. I decided to keep it.”

Xi Jin received the fabric scroll, which the maid handed to him, and opened it with shaky hands. The blood-red words pierced his eyes. The letter’s contents made his heart ache.

“Brother Jin, I am already sick beyond any cure. I will not be able to hold on until we can meet one last time, so I only beg you to help me take care of Ya’er. She is so kind, and loves you so much. Please, Brother Jin, marry her. Protect her, dote on her, love her, and trust her for the rest of your life.

“I know you will definitely say that I am cruel. I know that the one whom you love is me. But I ask you to marry Ya’er because she is my most beloved sister, and you are my most trusted Brother Jin. Besides you, I don’t have any other options for taking care of her.

“Also, please help Brother Ying and the Shen family. He is the one whom I loved the most in this lifetime. I have never pleaded with you for anything before. This is the first time, and it will also be the last time.

“Brother Jin, if you don’t marry my sister, Ya’er, help Brother Jin, or support the Shen family, Dai’er will not die in peace. Dai’er will forget you for all eternity and refuse to even walk past you. If you don’t promise me, we will never meet again in any of our future lifetimes.”

Every word was a knife in the heart. That Dai’er would use an oath of eternal separation to threaten him into marrying Ya’er was more than just cruel. It was genuinely heartless.

Even though he had never directly confessed it, she knew that he loved her. However, her dying words, which she had never spoken to him at the time, amounted to her requesting him to marry Ya’er and help Jiang Ying. How could she be so ruthless and use words of blood to completely break his heart?

The maid, with her head down, lowered her chin further when she saw Xi Jin’s reaction. Her lips, however, slowly curved upward. Miss indeed knew the Crown Prince well. She had prepared this letter back when First Miss had passed away, imitating her late sister’s penmanship and tone. Now, the Crown Prince was left with no other choice.

If it was really true that First Miss was still alive, the maid hoped that she would soon return to see how her sister was stepping on her corpse in an attempt to obtain the position of royal empress and stand alongside the Crown Prince, ruling this vast land.

Most likely, First Miss would die of anger all over again, because all of these things had initially belonged to her.

Xi Jin clutched the fabric scroll tightly and felt immense pain in his chest. It was like an invisible hand was tightly grabbing his heart. It hurt so much that he could barely breathe.

Puff!

Seeing Xi Jin vomit up a mouthful of blood, the maid’s face instantly turned pale. “Crown Prince,” she said.

Xi Jin covered his chest with his bands. When he reached Wuchan Hall, he casually wiped the bloodstains from the corner of his lips, leaped down, and went inside.

“Crown Prince.”

Xi Jin reached the Foretelling Room and opened the door to see Shen Yunya’s right hand placed on a crystal ball. Fresh blood dripped down it. The fiery red crystal ball looked as if it were about to ooze blood at any moment.

“Ya’er.” When Xi Jin saw this, he paid no attention to the piercing pain in his heart. He swiftly walked toward Shen Yunya, grabbed her arms, and moved her wrist away from the crystal ball.

Shen Yunya’s face was ashen. Her lips were parched and cracked, and her breath seemed so weak that she could stop breathing anytime. She lifted her eyes to gaze at Xi Jin and struggled to place her wrist on the crystal ball. She was weak but determined as she said, “We’re close to unraveling the mystery of who my sister has been reborn as in her next life. Please release me, Brother Jin. We can’t give up now.”
