Chapter 6542 Completed Merger?
A ripple of death containing the dragon race’s sacred energy and a supreme law swept across the sky. Wherever it passed, countless experts were crushed to dust.
The attack covered the entire battlefield. As the ripple spread, blood blossomed like fireworks—millions upon millions bursting at once.
Long Chen had unleashed all his dragon blood power in one dragon roar. It carried not only the will of the dragon race, but also his boundless grief and fury. His killing intent roared through the world.
Long Chen had done so much for the nine heavens and had never demanded repayment. Yet instead of gratitude, its people seized this moment to strike at him. How could he not be enraged?
The Dragon Roars at the Nine Heavens turned the battlefield into a purgatory. Blood rained in torrents.
Only half-step Sovereign Lords at the edges of the battlefield survived the wave. In the central region, even half-step Sovereign Lords perished unless they carried a true Divine Sovereign legacy item to protect themselves.
The battlefield cleared in an instant. Ninety-nine percent of the attackers were annihilated.
Many of them had tried to protect their comrades with their divine weapons, raising barriers to blunt the sound wave. But at best, they could only shield a handful. After all, they had all assumed Long Chen would be forced to defend the Dragonblood Legion and act passively.
But Xia Chen’s preparations had allowed Long Chen to unleash devastation the moment the opportunity appeared.
This attack was even more lethal than Zi Yan wielding the Heavenly Devil Zither. In the end, fewer than a million survivors remained.
Every survivor stood there blankly, feeling like they were in a nightmare. Their massive armies were gone.
Outside of the battlefield, the Jiang clan was staring in horror. Over three million of the Jiang clan’s experts had entered the battlefield, and now a few hundred thousand remained—those who were standing right behind Jiang Zitao.
Jiang Zitao held a white scale shield in his trembling hands. Shock and fury twisted his face. The attack had come too fast for him to save anyone but those at his side.
The other three clans had fared even worse; their forces had been too spread out for their elites to protect them. The Long, Ye, Zhao, and Jiang divine clans had suffered catastrophic losses.
Jiang Yue’e and Feng Fei were also shocked despite having anticipated some kind of reaction from Long Chen. They had not expected him to unleash such power.
They had guessed that the crown on Long Chen’s head was very likely some kind of essence rune. Through this crown, he instantly ignited all of his dragon blood power, which was what allowed him to produce such terrifying power.
Behind them, the Jiang clan disciples trembled uncontrollably, their palms slick with sweat.
Their indecision had truly saved their lives. If they had gone out with Jiang Zitao, they would no longer exist in this world.
Outside of the battlefield, there was another group of people who had not charged in. Starlight covered them, forming an astral barrier.
These people were the nine star heirs led by Xue Ying. She no longer wore her previous apathetic expression like everything was under her control.
She was now completely shocked. It was a good thing she had been farsighted enough to not make a move.
When Prince Chun Yang used his bewitching voice, she directly dispelled it with her astral energy. Thus, the nine star line’s experts were unaffected.
However, quite a few nine star heirs had been itching to charge in earlier. The only thing holding them back was their fear of acting without Xue Ying’s command.
Now, watching Long Chen clear out the battlefield with a single roar, they trembled. Even with their confidence in their physical bodies, they knew such a sound wave wasn’t something an ordinary Divine Sovereign magical item could withstand. If such treasures couldn’t endure it, how could their bodies?
“The cracks on his astral gates are widening! It seems unleashing something of that scale puts immense strain on his body,” reported one of Xue Ying’s trusted subordinates.
Previously, there had only been the faintest of cracks on his astral gates. But now, they were wide enough to fit a hand through. Dozens of jagged lines crossed each other; his astral gates looked ready to collapse at any moment.
“Miss Xue Ying, Long Chen is also a nine star heir. But why is his cultivation technique and manifestation so different from ours?” asked another nine star heir.
Xue Ying shook her head. “Perhaps only the Star Prince could know the answer to this question.”
Her aide frowned. “It appears his nirvanic rebirth is incomplete. His astral energy still has glaring flaws.”
“In truth, the flaw in his astral stars is us,” said Xue Ying.
“Us?”
“If we had thrown our lives away like that fool Lu Ze, these flaws might not exist,” Xue Ying said quietly.
Everyone was startled. They immediately thought back to how that green parrot had cursed Lu Ze and the others. Afterwards, Long Chen absorbed their astral energy.
“That’s right... where is that parrot?” someone blurted.
Now that it was mentioned, they realized it had vanished without a trace.
...
“Long Chen, this is your limit. Your astral energy is declining. You can’t last much longer!” shouted Prince Chun Yang.
Just then, Prince Chun Yang appeared on the Heavenly Devil Zither, forming hand seals along with all the Zither Sect’s disciples. Runes ignited and flowed out of their bodies toward Prince Chun Yang.
A sound blade sliced through the sky right at Long Chen.
BOOM!
Long Chen raised his hand. An astral palm materialized and shattered the sound blade—yet in the same instant, Long Chen’s figure flickered and vanished.
“Watch out!” Prince Chun Yang shouted in alarm.
In the distance, Long Biluo’s soul shook. At the warning, she summoned her Jiuli tower manifestation.
Just as the protective light enveloped her, Long Chen reappeared before her with a giant astral blade in his hands.
“No!”
The Long clan disciples behind her cried out in despair.
BOOM!
The giant astral blade struck the tower and nailed Long Biluo to the ground. After that, the resulting shockwave annihilated the last surviving members of the Long clan.
The battle had ascended far beyond what ordinary cultivators could bear. They were like ants caught between giants. Now, aside from Long Biluo, not a single member of the Long clan survived.
The other three divine clans were horrified by this. Now, they realized that even though his nirvanic rebirth was incomplete, Long Chen was still not an existence they could fight. A lion, even an ill one, was not something a bunch of rabbits could beat.
The survivors of the other three clans directly fled for their lives. They didn’t want to share the Long clan’s fate.
Just then, Qian Jie returned. A bronze fist tore through space.
“Long Chen, your arrogance ends here!”
BOOM!
Long Chen raised an arm to block, but this time he was hurled backward. Gasps rippled across the battlefield.
Qian Jie was no longer the same. A bronze cauldron emitting a sacred light was hovering behind him.
“The merger... it’s complete?!”
Gu Yang and the others felt their hearts plummet at the sight.
