Nine Star Hegemon Body Art

Chapter 6288 Dark Master

Chapter 6288 Dark Master

What truly stunned Long Chen and Mo Nian was that this expert had actually broken through from the peak of the Human Emperor realm straight into the Divine Emperor realm.

His aura surged like a volcanic eruption, swelling madly as he tore through the barrier of an entire major realm in an instant.

There were two reasons for their shock. First, advancing into the Divine Emperor realm was no simple matter. The transformation from Human Emperor energy to Divine Emperor energy required a long process. Even a peak Human Emperor normally needed days, if not longer, to stabilize their foundation.

Yet, this man had made no preparations at all. He simply shattered his shackles and forced his way into the Divine Emperor realm in one breath.

Second, this man already possessed over eight hundred Sovereign flames, not far from the pinnacle of 999 flames. If he reached that number, three nines would become one. He would step past the Divine Emperor realm and directly ascend to the Sovereign Lord realm.

For a peerless genius, that single step meant everything. Sovereign Lords stood unrivaled beneath the Divine Sovereign realm, and this breakthrough marked the line between life and death. If one of two mortal enemies managed to take this step, their enmity would come to an end.

This man clearly had immense potential, still capable of condensing even more Sovereign flames. He had just formed a new one moments ago.

After all, each additional Sovereign flame not only strengthened one’s power but also amplified their future potential as a Divine Emperor. Thus, before reaching their limit, very few people chose to advance prematurely.

However, this expert directly cast aside his future and directly advanced to the Divine Emperor realm—all because of one man’s order. That fact alone made Long Chen and Mo Nian glance at him with renewed vigilance.

The one commanding that expert sat at the very front, facing the spider statue. A shroud of black qi enveloped him, hiding his features and concealing his cultivation. Were it not for his voice earlier, they wouldn’t even have noticed his presence. But now that they had, both their hearts sank. This person was terrifying.

“Damn human, I’ll tear you to pieces!” the newly ascended expert roared, his face twisted with fury.

He dared not vent his anger on the man who had commanded him, so he turned it all on Long Chen and Mo Nian.

Even though this person had just stepped into the Divine Emperor realm, his power had soared more than tenfold. He was vastly stronger than before.

Long Chen was about to summon his Astral Battle Armor when Mo Nian took out another coffin.

With a heavy boom, the coffin struck the ground and slowly creaked open. From within emerged a lifeform wreathed in black flames.

Its body was clad in black scales, and a pair of bull horns jutted from its head. In its hand was a wicked black scimitar.

“A Divine Sovereign from beyond the world?”

Long Chen’s heart shook. Mo Nian actually had such a terrifying fighter hidden away?

Mo Nian’s puppet arts had clearly reached a level far beyond that of the red-haired expert from the Golden Wing Heavenly Devil race.

Somehow, he had even preserved a fragment of this puppet’s Sovereign qi, and it was that trace alone which allowed the puppet’s power to erupt to such heights.

A puppet sustained only by a discarnate soul couldn’t possibly withstand even a single blow from it. And if it managed to condense even a wisp of Sovereign blood, then it would very well dominate the heaven region’s battlefield.

Of course, condensing Sovereign blood was not easy. Aside from that colossal devil that Long Chen and Lei Yuner had once encountered, no other existence had ever accomplished such a feat. And that devil had been nurtured through endless sacrifices over countless years...

“Sacrifices?”

Long Chen’s heart suddenly shook. His gaze instinctively shifted to the enormous spider. If this creature was also a fallen expert, then after being worshiped and offered sacrifices for so long, could it be that...?

A chill spread through him. A sense of foreboding gnawed at his chest.

Just then, a thunderous boom shook the void. Mo Nian’s Sovereign puppet swung its black scimitar at the newly advanced Divine Emperor.

The entire island quaked violently. Yet, amidst the chaos, the altar remained strangely still, and the figure upon it was utterly unaffected.

“Damn, they’re blaspheming the Dark Master!” the newly advanced Divine Emperor roared.

With a spear in hand, he tried to rush past the puppet to strike at the two of them. However, the puppet was unnervingly agile, blocking his path at every step. With a vicious counter, it sent the Divine Emperor flying.

Yet, the puppet itself rocked violently, showing that even for it, clashing against a Divine Emperor was taxing.

“Mo Nian, something’s off!” transmitted Long Chen.

“I feel it too,” Mo Nian replied, his eyes narrowing as he stared at the altar.

“They’re communing with that statue! It’s like they’re trading faith energy for more Sovereign flames. That statue isn’t ordinary—it might actually be their ancestor,” Mo Nian speculated.

“I’ll go left, you go right?” proposed Long Chen.

“Alright.” Mo Nian nodded.

Above Long Chen’s head, stars ignited. Six astral gates opened, unleashing torrents of astral energy that illuminated the world.

However, the instant his Astral Battle Armor manifested, a ferocious aura locked onto him. Long Chen shuddered, and even his soul felt shackled, as though an invisible hand gripped it tightly. Terror welled up within him.

What shook Long Chen most was that this aura didn’t come from any living foe—it came directly from the statue. Killing intent crashed down on him. It was like invisible chains coiling around him, threatening to rip his soul from his body.

Long Chen froze in disbelief. Never before had he experienced such suffocating suppression. His body and soul were bound at once.

“Long Chen?” Mo Nian’s voice broke through the pressure.

They had agreed Long Chen would strike first. But the moment his starry manifestation appeared, the sea of stars above him began flickering violently. It was like the light was about to extinguish at any moment.

“Could the nine star heirs be connected to this statue?” Mo Nian wondered, his face darkening.

He didn’t know the details, but the facts were clear—Long Chen had been fine moments ago. But the instant his starry manifestation appeared, the spider statue’s aura grew monstrously savage.

Mo Nian lunged forward, trying to reach Long Chen, only to be repelled by an invisible force.

“Fool, to think you would summon a starry manifestation in front of the Dark Master’s divine statue! You are courting death!” sneered the mysterious figure shrouded in black qi.

At that moment, blood burst from Long Chen’s mouth. Blood streamed down from his eyes, nose, and ears in a ghastly sight.
