Nine Star Hegemon Body Art

Chapter 6286 Astral Seeds

Chapter 6286 Astral Seeds

“Senior, maybe you shouldn’t tell me!” Long Chen exclaimed.

Long Chen’s heart pounded. No wonder so many people refused to speak of these matters. Even here, on the Ghost Ship, in the depths of her mind-sea, the Heavenly Daos could still listen to them.

They were everywhere. Inescapable. Watching.

Seeing Long Chen worry about her, the woman smiled slightly.

“I am nothing more than a wisp of a discarnate soul. If I can leave you these truths as my final act, it is enough. The Star Master and Pill Sovereign, after uncovering that secret, tore open a path through the void. That was when countless evil spirits from beyond the world descended upon the nine heavens. It was a bloodbath. Our strongest fell in rivers of blood, while the Star Master and Pill Sovereign led a fierce counterattack. But treachery arose even among the Pill Sovereign’s followers. In the end... we lost.”

Her silhouette continued to fade, becoming almost invisible. Her mind-sea was drying up.

Even then, she continued, “When the Star Master and Pill Sovereign fell, the nine star line’s disciples fought to the last man. Before his death, the Star Master swore to the nine heavens—his astral seeds would scatter across all realms. And one day, a nine star heir would rise, to drive out the devils and lead us—”

Her voice came to a stop as her mind-sea completely withered.

With a grim expression, Long Chen retreated from her mind-sea.

“How was it?” asked Mo Nian.

As he spoke, the corpse started to disintegrate.

With a heavy tone, Long Chen explained, “Senior told me some secrets. Unfortunately, the Heavenly Daos sensed it and destroyed her soul. These damn Heavenly Daos...”

Rage boiled in him. Without question, someone was manipulating the Heavenly Daos. That was why they constantly targeted him. But it wasn’t absolute control—otherwise, he would already be dead. Whoever it was, they could only command a portion of that power, but it was enough to stretch even into the heaven region’s battlefield.

Bowing deeply to where the woman had vanished, Long Chen said, “Senior, do not blame yourself. You already did more than enough, so leave the rest to us. Now, it’s our turn.”

He then relayed everything to Mo Nian. Between them, there were no secrets, and he didn’t fear any karma between them.

Mo Nian didn’t seem surprised by what he heard. It seemed he had guessed it.

He said, “I’ve seen some records of the primal chaos war during my exploration. However, most of them were rotting away, as if some law prevented them from existing. But some things survived, carved in ways beyond words. Although it wasn’t completely understandable, after seeing so many versions, I could make some guesses.

“Our history has been tampered with. Still, fragments of truth remain in some hidden ruins, enough for us to see the reality. But even that only reaches back to the primal chaos era. Everything before that is a mystery. With what that senior said... tell me, Long Chen... do you think a blade has been harvesting the lives of the nine heavens over and over again before sowing seeds for each new cycle?”

“After finishing one harvest, they erase the history, and then a new cycle is born... Could it be?...” Long Chen muttered, his heart trembling.

Mo Nian nodded. “The possibility exists. That is why the Star Master led the experts of the nine heavens and ten lands in revolt, igniting the primal chaos war. Although he fell in the end, he managed to shatter ‘the scythe that reaps the harvest’ and buy us time. History wasn’t gone completely either. He left behind faint clues for us to follow, threads that let us glimpse the truth.”

Long Chen was too stunned to speak. The Nine Star Master had led the nine star line, fighting and dying for the nine heavens. Yet the new generation of nine star disciples was now being hunted down by the very heavens they had protected. This was outrageous.

What enraged him most was the slander—some fools had blamed the primal chaos war on the Star Master, claiming he had sparked the bloodshed that destroyed the nine heavens and ten lands.

“Fuck, if anyone dares to say anything like that in front of me again, I’ll cut off their tongue!” Long Chen cursed, getting angrier the more he thought about it.

This injustice—this reversal of truth—was more venomous than foreign devils. It was spitting on the heroes who had sacrificed everything.

Although the female violet blood expert hadn’t been able to say much before fading, it was enough to ignite Long Chen’s will. His conviction only grew stronger.

With a grave voice, Mo Nian guessed, “Judging by how things stand now, that scythe has likely been restored. All of us are nothing but its harvest. Worse still, someone is deliberately sowing discord among us. When the time comes, who knows if we’ll have the strength to block it again?”

“We’re not just going to block it!” Long Chen declared, his fists clenching tightly. “We’re going to cut down the bastard wielding the scythe and everyone hiding behind him! Otherwise, how would we live up to our titles from the Martial Heaven Continent? The Eastern Madman and the Western Wretch!”

“Cough, that Western Wretch really was a misnomer. We don’t need to talk about it,” said Mo Nian hastily.

“Well, what weapon do you use?” asked Long Chen.

“A bow, obviously?”

“And what does it shoot?”

“...Arrows?”[1]

“Exactly, isn’t that just it?”

“...Fuck, you were just waiting for that?” Mo Nian was speechless.

Long Chen simply smirked.

“Getting back to business, we’ve gained quite a bit on this Ghost Ship. Do you want these corpses?” asked Long Chen.

“No, these corpses are all cursed. I can’t use them,” Mo Nian replied.

Since Mo Nian didn’t want them, Long Chen didn’t stand on courtesy and directly sucked them into the primal chaos space.

The bodies of nine heavens’ experts were kept aside in case their descendants needed them, while the rest went into the black soil.

Long Chen had already tested it: corpses swallowed by the Nether River were immune to his Heaven Soul Blood Curse and couldn’t be refined into puppets.

After the corpses were cleaned up, the two of them searched the lower deck again and found nothing of value.

Climbing back up, they found the Corpse Fisher still sitting blankly, the hook in his hand gleaming faintly. They exchanged a look and moved in.

Long Chen raised his hand to defend against any attack, while Mo Nian stealthily reached toward the hook.

The instant his hand brushed it, the Corpse Fisher twitched to life. His withered eyes flared, and a suffocating aura exploded from his body—the might of a Divine Sovereign.

This Corpse Fisher was actually a Divine Sovereign puppet. But before he could act, Long Chen slapped him.

Pow!

The Corpse Fisher spun back. By the time he steadied himself, the hook was gone, while Long Chen and Mo Nian were already speeding away in their boat.

The puppet stood at the prow, glaring at them and roaring like a beast. However, he did not dare leave the Ghost Ship.

“Hehe, this hook isn’t ordinary.” Mo Nian laughed, examining his prize. “A true Divine Sovereign weapon. I just wonder if the divine runes can still be activated. I’ll have to study it.”

The runes etched into the weapon were unlike any design from the nine heavens. However, such a treasure was wasted on fishing up corpses—it was almost laughable.

“I see land!” Long Chen suddenly shouted.

Mo Nian instantly stowed the hook and looked up. Ahead, through the thinning mist, a blurry outline appeared.
