Chapter 743: Two Letters (2/2)
"Several minutes ago.
As soon as Eve opens the envelope with the pink ribbon, the same shade of pink as her hair, she finds a letter and quickly opens it.
She can’t stop thinking about her missing sister, a secret she’s kept for so many years alone, something Michael told her that might just be another one of his lies.
But that letter has to be the confirmation that she really has another sister, so Eve quickly begins to read it.
"Hi sister..."
Eve can’t help but let a few tears roll down her face as she becomes increasingly certain that Michael didn’t lie about her sister.
"I really want to meet you and our siblings, but that’s not possible yet."
"Mom promised me that our reunion isn’t far away, but I can’t leave her alone, especially now..."
"I know you and our siblings might be confused, and I can’t give you all the answers you want, but I can share my story."
"The oldest memory I have is being in a cold and dark place; I was very scared and it haunts me in nightmares even today..."
"But that lasted only a moment before a bright figure emerged from a purple light... I remember to this day that wonderful sweet scent and beautiful red hair..."
"She chased away all fear and cold, making me feel warm and safe; and it continues to be so today."
"It took me many years to understand that my childhood was different because I didn’t leave this tower and had no contact with other children, but I really like my life so far."
"Despite being envious of you and our siblings for having each other, I was very happy growing up."
"Mom always gave me a lot of love but also taught me to be strong, and I had some special people who would visit me whenever Mom was away."
"One of them had greenish skin and wooden horns... she was so kind and taught me to read various languages... another had knives in her hair and taught me to fight with all kinds of weapons..."
"They called me little sister, so I always considered them my big sisters."
"But one day, Mom told me a sad story... she said she was my second mother because my first one had died..."
"I couldn’t quite understand at first, but over time I grasped what really happened, how Michael failed to protect our family and the leader of the Silver Legion took me away to punish him..."
"I was very angry, but Mom was by my side, and all my big sisters..."
"What upset me the most was knowing that you and our siblings had to stay with Michael, and I couldn’t do anything about it..."
"Mom didn’t want me to suffer, and she tried her best to help me with the anger and pain, but it was my big sisters who taught me how to feel better by torturing the man who killed our mother."
"I bet you wish you could have done it too, but he was completely broken after I took everything he loved... so I’m sorry for doing it without you, but he suffered until his last breath."
"I almost came to you many times to help you do the same to Michael, but I couldn’t jeopardize everything Mom was trying to do for us, for our family..."
"I will never forget that I had a first mother... and that she was taken from us. But I love my second mother and I have to help her... this is for all of us."
"So tell Lucien and the others, tell them that we will be together soon and I will be the real big sister, okay? After all, I was born a few seconds before you!"
The letter ends with a heart in the place where the signature usually is, leaving Eve even more moved.
She is confused and with various questions arising in her mind, but the main point is that her missing sister was loved, protected, and plans to reunite with her family again.
Eve sighs as she needs a minute to calm down, then she re-reads the letter because many things seem strange about it.
"Second mother?" She can’t help but think aloud as she reads it.
"You understand, right?" Pride asks her. "Red hair? Sweet scent? She has to be Lucien’s mother."
Eve can’t deny that she also thinks that, which makes the story even more confusing and bizarre.
"What do you think of the people she mentioned as big sisters?" Eve asks Pride.
"The one with greenish skin and wooden horns seems to be the Nature Spirit," Pride responds. "And the one with knives in her hair... yeah, they could be the other Primordials."
Eve is surprised to hear that. "So they are really allies of Luci’s mom... she is also... my sister’s mother? And they were in Belor all this time?"
"I also think it’s madness," Pride comments honestly.
"Yeah, madness..." Eve turns her thoughts back to Lucien. "We have to show this to Luci!"
"She quickly leaves the room and finds Lucien immersed in his own letter, so, although she is very eager to tell him what she has just read, she waits patiently.
After several minutes, Lucien turns and sees Eve; she can tell that he is also moved by his own letter, so she doesn’t try to contain her feelings and just lets them out.
Eve thought Lucien would be upset that his mother had left him for a while and devoted herself to being a mother to their missing sister, but as a good brother, he couldn’t be happier that she had a better childhood than theirs.
The siblings take a while to enjoy the good news before dwelling on everything else they have just discovered.
"This is all so..." Eve can’t even find the words to describe it.
"Bizarre?" Lucien asks and wipes the rest of the tears from Eve’s face.
She enjoys his touch so much and nods. "Yeah, at the very least."
Lucien hugs Eve even more tightly, and she wishes to stay that way for an indefinite time.
But she knows they don’t have such an option, so she breaks the silence. "What are we going to do?"
"What do you want to do?" Lucien responds with another question.
She makes a thoughtful expression. "A part of me wants to go after your mother and our sister in the Demon World, but..."
"But we can’t do that." Lucien finishes Eve’s words. "It’s not just Naomi who wants to reunite with her mother; Sophia won’t be well until her mother is safe, and even Donna wants it so much."
Eve nods. "We have to go to the Shadow Star and understand what’s happening there."
"Yes," Lucien agrees but can’t help smiling. "We have a lot of work to do, but I have faith that soon our entire family will be reunited, we will make it happen."
"Yeah!" Eve becomes very excited with that idea and, due to her intense emotions, she kisses Lucien on the lips, surprising him.
"..." She quickly separates their lips right after the touch and tries to step out of his embrace while feeling very embarrassed.
But Lucien looks into her eyes and pulls her more tightly into his embrace before kissing her lips again.
He just enjoys the delicious taste and incredible softness of her lips, but she quickly starts to open her mouth, inviting his tongue to enter and dance with her own.
And of course, Lucien does, making their kiss much more pleasurable and causing her to let out loud moans.
Both are too happy to contain any desire and continue kissing and wildly touching each other’s bodies.
Meanwhile, Pride and Lust are trying to put together an impossible puzzle in their minds.
The content of those letters, combined with everything they have discovered so far, is unbelievable, but also seems like just a small part of something much bigger.
They are so confused and curious that they materialize their bodies and interrupt Lucien and Eve’s moment.
"You should make a Soul Contract and use the Purple World for it, we can’t waste time now," Lust suggests.
"Or we can go straight to the Shadow Star, of course!" Pride quickly suggests, after all, her nature is still against letting Eve simply surrender to Lucien.
Eve quickly stops kissing Lucien and takes a step back with her face completely flushed. "Ahem... yep, we can’t keep the others waiting... we have to tell them everything."
"Sure," Lucien nods and then extends his hand to Eve.
She blushes even more, but the sparkle in her eyes makes clear her desire. "Luci... we have to get back-"
"I fly faster, you know." He smiles teasingly.
"Oh," Eve feels embarrassed for misunderstanding his gesture, then she extends her hand to take his. "So, let’s g-"
Before she can react, Lucien pulls her into his embrace and kisses her on the lips again.
She tries to protest, but he breaks the kiss and smiles at her. "I know, I know!"
Eve just rolls her eyes while unable to stop her lips from smiling.
Lucien prepares to fly out the window with Eve, but before leaving, he takes a good look at the place, and she understands what he’s thinking.
"It seems like they had good times here..." Eve comments.
"Yeah, right in the heart of the Silver Legion... so crazy." He remarks.
"So fucking crazy." Eve adds.
