Chapter 166 – Kidnapper (2)

“You know Xiao Chen, I mean Chen Fei. Remember he bought his house a couple of days ago? I remember it used to be $4,200 / sf. It was $4,300 when he bought. When they went over to sign the contract today, it was up another $50. That was so fast. It’s only been a couple of days. Xiao Chen didn’t even do anything and he made close to $10,000. That’s several years of income for us. Aiya! You will be back tomorrow. We’ll talk then. The cost for talking on the phone is too high.” Wu Xiuyue hung up quickly after she had said that.

“Eh?” Shu Yan shook her head helplessly when she heard the dial tone.

Back then, both parties had to pay for the call. Not just the party making the call, but also the party who answered the call.

As for the house prices, it would appreciate a little bit in the next few years but not drastically so. What they were seeing at Nanfu Mansion was not normal. It could be caused by the area around the district being developed recently.

She set her alarm to 3:30 AM. Since she was already in City Nan, she might as well get some more merchandizes. That way she wouldn’t have to come back next week.

After she was done with merchandizing, Shu Yan visited the shops that she had dropped off samples the day before. One of the boss ladies whom Shu Yan was more familiar with came over and tugged her by her arm when she saw Shu Yan. “Do you have more of your fall outfit? Send me some quickly.”

“Liu-jie, they are all gone?” Shu Yan looked at the boss lady in surprise. Just yesterday she said nobody wanted them and she wasn’t able to move the merchandize at all.

“Sold them all and many had placed orders.” The boss lady pulled out a notebook and written on it was names and quantities of those who had placed orders. One of her bigger customers ordered over 100 sets straight up.

“They weren’t selling very good when I came over yesterday so the quantity that I’ve told my friend was a bit on the low side.” Shu Yan hadn’t expected that they’d have sold so much in one morning. She only told Lao Zhang to send over ten sets of each color.

“Then give him a call to send more. I have a phone right here,” said the boss lady urgently.

“There’s no rush. It’s only 6 AM. The factory isn’t even open yet. Nobody will pick up the phone even if we call right now.” Shu Yan pulled out pen and paper. “Let me write down how many you’ve ordered first. I will communicate that to my friend later.” After carefully written down the quantities and colors, Shu Yan collected 1/3 of total cost for deposit.

She visited the few other stores and realized that they were also mostly gone and all asked Shu Yan for more. She gave them the same spiel and recorded the quantities. Finding a public phone outside, she called up the factory. Lao Zhang picked the phone up after one ring. “Who is it?”

“Lao Zhang, it’s me. Everything that I brought with me here was all gone and I’ve got a bunch of orders. All of the wholesalers wanted to get more from us. I will give you the quantities right now. Can you write them down?” Shu Yan was a bit emotional.

“Sure. Sure. Sure. Let me go grab pen and paper.” Lao Zhang anxiously got up from the couch and ran over to his desk for pen and paper. After he had carefully written down the styles, colors, and quantities from Shu Yan, he said, “That many? We don’t have that much in inventory.”

They were worried that would lose too much money so they two of them had been conservative about it. They hadn’t expected sales to be this good.

“Hadn’t I placed an order a while back? Send those over to City Han first and go get more materials from the market immediately. Start a tab with the vendors for now and I will pay them when I get back. Let’s put a rush on this.” They must take advantage of this opportunity. If they missed this opportunity, it wasn’t going to come knocking a second time.

“That won’t be a problem. We are considered big account now and can pay them on a monthly basis. You take care of City Han. Don’t worry about things on my end. I promise we won’t drop the ball.” Lao Zhang’s wife walked inside his office at this moment, looking both tired and excited.
