Chapter 4953: Head towards the Song Family
The next morning, Mi’er awoke. However, Feng Jiu and the others did not linger long; they departed around noon.
Although the incident at the Yu residence had occurred the previous night, and the protective barrier had prevented it from alerting the city’s inhabitants, by early morning, various factions and families within the city had received word that something had happened to the Yu family.
Yet, aside from the Old Predecessor Yu and Old Predecessor Yu Guo from the previous night, no one knew how the matter had ultimately been resolved, nor who had settled it…
Half a month later, Feng Jiu’s airship came to rest in a forest outside a city. She glanced at the few people beside her before stowing the airship away.
“We’re close to the city now. You can walk from here!” Feng Jiu said, ruffling Yue’er’s hair.
“Master, can’t you let my father and the others know your true identity?” Song Mi’er asked. Her recovery had been swift during the flight aboard the airship.
They had come to this area because the faction controlling the soul entity’s true form was based here. Since her family lived in the city ahead, she had agreed to bring them this far. She would handle her business while Song Mi’er waited at her home with the three children.
“The time isn’t right yet,” Feng Jiu replied, her gaze shifting to the three children.
“We’re already here. Won’t you come in with us, Master?” Song Mi’er looked at her and asked.
Feng Jiu shook her head. “Just take good care of these three for me. Once I’ve handled my business, I’ll come to the Song family to pick you all up.” She was preparing to take down that faction, and naturally, it wasn’t wise to bring the three children along. Since Mi’er’s family was right here, having the children stay with her for a few days was the best solution.
“Mother, you needn’t worry about us. Master trained us for trials. We know how to survive and handle dangers outside,” Hao’er spoke up, reassuring her.
Hearing this, Feng Jiu smiled, her eyes brimming with affection. “Mother knows. You’re the eldest, so keep a close eye on them. Alright, go now! Listen carefully to Sister Mi’er.”
“Yes.” The three replied in unison, looking back at her. “Mother, take care of yourself too. We’ll wait for you at Sister Mi’er’s house.”
“Mhm.” Feng Jiu nodded, turning to Song Mi’er. “I’m counting on you.”
“Rest assured, Master. I’ll take good care of them,” Song Mi’er replied with a radiant smile. Waving to her, she then led the three children toward the city gate.
Hao’er and Mu Chen flanked Yue’er, each taking one of her hands as they walked. Beside them, Song Mi’er followed, her face aglow with joy and excitement.
“I never imagined we’d return home so soon! When I left last time, I thought it would be years before I came back!” Her eyes sparkled with delight as she gazed upon the familiar surroundings, her heart soaring with joy.
“Once we get home, I’ll have my brothers cook something delicious for you,” Song Mi’er told them.
Yue’er’s eyes lit up as she looked at her. ” “Sister Mi’er, are the things they cook with you always that delicious?” She had been preparing delicious meals for them every day lately, and the food looked so appealing that it had spoiled her palate.
“Of course! My family is known for our exceptional skills in culinary. Everyone in my family is an extraordinary cook.” She lifted her chin proudly, her eyes and brows radiating confidence.
