Chapter 4906: Missing

Chapter 4906: Missing

“Yes.” Both stood up and responded respectfully. After receiving the token that could unlock the barrier and formation, they turned and headed down the mountain.

At this moment, they still didn’t know that the person their master had sent them to fetch was the Mother they had always longed for and thought of.

Feng Jiu wandered around the mountain base until she finally located the entrance. She paused, pondering whether she should greet the Azure Emperor first—after all, she was a guest. Entering someone’s domain unannounced seemed rather impolite.

As she pondered this, two small figures appeared amidst the clouds, flying on swords. The moment she saw them, her eyes softened, and a smile spread across her face.

It seemed the Azure Emperor knew she had arrived. Look, he had even sent her two sons down to greet her.

Seeing her sons after so long filled her heart with both joy and a pang of sadness. It was her fault—because she had too many enemies, she had sent them away to study under the Azure Emperor.

Still, it seemed the Azure Emperor had treated them well. Both had grown significantly taller, and their faces had been altered—no longer the familiar features she knew. Yet, they were her children, and she recognized their essence instantly.

The two children, riding their swords, spotted the familiar red figure from afar. They froze, their eyes widening in surprise.

“I-Is that… Mother? Am I seeing things?” Muchen’s usually expressionless face was now filled with astonishment and bewilderment, his eyes sparkling with a light called delight. Yet, fearing it might be a hallucination born from his longing for his mother, he dared not believe it.

“It is Mother! Mother has come!” Hao’er, a few years older, saw their mother. After the initial shock, his stern little face lit up with delight and excitement. He accelerated his sword flight, soaring toward the mountain gate ahead.

“Mother!”

“Mother!”

The two leapt down from their flying swords, one after the other, and dashed toward the crimson figure. As their forms touched the array and barrier, the protective enchantments automatically opened a path for them, recognizing the tokens they carried.

“Hao’er! Chen’er!”

Feng Jiu spread her arms wide, catching the two as they threw themselves into her embrace. She held them tightly as their small bodies collided into her chest. Bending down, she kissed each of their cheeks, her gaze tender and doting. “Mother missed you so much. Have you been eating properly? Why are you only growing taller and not putting on weight?”

“Mother, Hao’er missed you so much too.”

“Mother, Chen’er missed you so, so much.”

The two little boys, their cheeks kissed by their mother, were both delighted and shy. Their eyes gazed at her, sparkling with joy and happiness.

“Mother, we ate well!” Chen’er beamed as he replied her earnestly.

“Mother, our Master treats us very well. We’re doing fine here, but we miss you terribly and want to see you,” Hao’er said, clutching her hand tightly.

“Good children. Mother misses you too and longs to see you.” She ruffled both boys’ hair. “Where’s Yue’er? Why didn’t she come down with you?”

After all, if her two sons had come down to greet her, their sister surely would have accompanied them. Unconsciously, her brow furrowed slightly as she watched the two boys shift their lips, looking as if they wanted to say something but didn’t quite know how.

“Mother, our sister isn’t on the mountain…..” Chen’er said.
