Mesmerizing Ghost Doctor

Chapter 4834: Let's escape

Chapter 4834: Let’s escape

“I know, I’m not going home either,” Feng Jiu said with a smile. “I still have things to do elsewhere. Besides, if you come with me and cook while I’m busy, I can ask Grandmaster Iron to forge a kitchen knife and a large bone-cutting knife just for you. How does that sound?”

“Grand, Grandmaster Iron?!!!!” Song Mi’er’s eyes widened in stunned disbelief. “Sister Feng, are you talking about the top armament master, Grandmaster Iron?”

“Yes, that’s him.” Feng Jiu nodded, a slight smile playing on her lips. She was well aware that in the territory of one of the Four Great Emperors, there resided a powerful armament master known for his unyielding nature and volatile temper. Few were fortunate enough to obtain a weapon forged by his hand.

“But… his weapons are incredibly hard to come by. Even my father couldn’t get a knife from him back then. How could he possibly…” It wasn’t that she didn’t want to believe it, but the possibility seemed incredibly remote.

“Just tell me if you’re interested,” Feng Jiu prompted.

Song Mi’er looked at Feng Jiu, pondered for a moment, and finally nodded. “Mm hmm, I’ll go with you.”

Hearing this, Feng Jiu’s smile broadened. “Let’s go! We have serious business to attend to.”

Feng Jiu’s plan was clear: by disrupting the flow of goods and resources in the territory she controlled, she would deliberately stir up trouble in the domain of the Four Great Emperors. If they intended to undermine her, she would seize the opportunity to dismantle one of them first and claim their territory. Currently, the aristocratic families and powerful individuals within her domain still harbored reservations. They feared the might of the Four Great Emperors and hesitated to submit to her. They believed that, despite her ascension to the rank of Emperor and her title as Phoenix Sovereign, she was, at the end of the day, still just a woman.

For the powerful, convincing them to submit to a woman was no simpler than ascending to the rank of Emperor themselves. Throughout history, women had often occupied a disadvantaged position. Unless she could perform an act that compelled their heartfelt submission, it would be extremely difficult to secure their unwavering loyalty. However, for Feng Jiu, matters that could be resolved through sheer force were much simpler. She preferred to prove everything through her inherent strength.

Song Mi’er remained oblivious to Feng Jiu’s true identity. She only knew her as Feng Jiu, and the thought of connecting her to the legendary Phoenix Sovereign, who had ascended some time ago, simply didn’t cross her mind. Such a supreme figure was beyond her wildest imagination; in her perception, powerful beings were elusive, not individuals one encountered by chance.

After settling the bill, the two women headed for the exit. Song Mi’er walked beside Feng Jiu and noticed they were heading towards the city gate. “Sister, are we leaving the city?” she asked, a hint of curiosity in her voice.

“Mm, let’s go somewhere else,” Feng Jiu replied, continuing to lead her towards the city gate. However, just as they were about to exit, a loud shout echoed from behind them:

“It’s them! Catch them! Don’t let them escape!”

Feng Jiu and Song Mi’er glanced back. It was indeed the man in brocade clothes from the shop, now flanked by two different middle-aged men as leaders. Trailing behind them was the middle-aged man who had been struck by Song Mi’er’s frying pan earlier, clearly eager for revenge.

“They’re here to get revenge. Let’s go!” Song Mi’er exclaimed, grabbing Feng Jiu’s arm and pulling her along in a hurried escape.

Feng Jiu cast a brief glance at their pursuers but didn’t resist. Instead, she followed Song Mi’er out of the city. She mused that without Du Fan and the others around, she had to handle many things herself, and this presented an interesting opportunity.
