Chapter 3704: Making Blueprints

Chapter 3704: Making Blueprints

They were taking a safer approach which allowed them to test the limits of shaping, deformation, and control without risking their most valuable material.

The others agreed quickly. There was no pride here, only experience guiding them forward.

Lin Mu nodded at their decision. He understood the importance of caution, especially when dealing with something that had already proven capable of injuring Transcendents with mere recoil. If they rushed and made an error, correcting it might be impossible.

Thus, they began again.

This time, however, the intent of their work had shifted. Previously, their focus had been on separation, forcing the husk to part at its joints through a combination of spatial manipulation and overwhelming force. Now, their purpose was shaping.

They needed to transform the segmented structure of the leg into something suitable for a weapon. But the first problem presented itself immediately: The joints.

A spider’s leg was not built like a spear.

Its structure consisted of multiple segments connected by flexible joints that allowed movement in specific directions. While this design was perfect for mobility, it was entirely unsuitable for a weapon that required both rigidity and controlled flexibility.

A spear needed to bend slightly under force, distributing impact evenly, but it also required a straight, continuous form that could channel power efficiently.

"These joints must be removed," the Mountain Dwarf elder stated firmly.

"And the structure must be unified," added the Rune Dwarf elder. "Otherwise the force will scatter along the segments."

The Fireforge elder nodded. "We will not be forging a weapon. We will be correcting its form."

Once again, the Dao Forge was activated, its presence stabilizing the environment and enhancing their control. The separated leg was placed upon the anvil, and Lin Mu positioned himself nearby, ready to assist with spatial manipulation.

To their collective surprise, this stage proved easier than the previous one.

Rather than cutting through the husk entirely, they were now working with its internal structure, encouraging it to merge rather than separate. Lin Mu extended his Spatial Perception into the leg, observing the connections between segments.

Instead of forcing them apart, he guided the energy within them to flow together, smoothing out the transitions and eliminating the boundaries. The elders supported this process through careful application of heat and controlled strikes.

The All Melt Furnace raised the temperature, not to soften the material in a conventional sense, but to encourage movement within its energy structure by exciting it. The Flawless Metal Anvil provided stability, ensuring that each strike contributed to concentrated force than a dispersed impact.

The process required precision. Too much force would cause recoil and too little would achieve nothing. A while later they found a rhythm. Lin Mu guided, the elders struck and the Dao Forge amplified.

Over the course of two days, the transformation became visible.

The distinct segments began to blur, their boundaries dissolving into one another. The joints, once flexible points of articulation, were gradually erased, replaced by a continuous structure that stretched from one end of the leg to the other.

By the end of the second day, the result lay before them.

A single, straight pole with no joints and no segments, only a smooth unified form. It measured roughly one and a half meters in length, shorter than the original leg due to adjustments made during shaping, yet still substantial enough to serve as a test weapon.

Lin Mu stepped forward and lifted it.

The moment it settled into his grip, he felt it.

The weight was different.

Not heavy in a physical sense, but dense, as though space itself had been compressed within it. The balance was near perfect, the natural taper of the original leg forming a sharp and deadly point.

Without hesitation, Lin Mu began to test it.

He swung it through the air.

WHOOSH

The movement felt smooth.

He adjusted his grip and thrust forward.

The response was immediate.

SHUA

The air itself seemed to distort slightly around the tip.

He increased his power and the next strike carried far more force.

HONG!

At that moment, the Dao Forge reacted as the entire realm trembled.

The formation arrays embedded within it activated instinctively, stabilizing the space and resisting the impact. A faint ripple spread outward from the point where Lin Mu’s strike had passed, as if the fabric of space had been brushed by the weapon.

The elders stared.

"That was not merely air you struck," one of them said slowly.

Lin Mu lowered the spear and looked at it with narrowed eyes.

"I know," he replied.

He had felt it clearly.

The attack had not simply moved through empty space, it had interacted with it. The spear, even in its incomplete state, had touched the fabric of space itself. The implication was staggering.

This was not yet a finished weapon. It was a crude prototype. And still, it held the potential to influence space directly.

Lin Mu continued testing, performing a series of movements. He swung, thrust, and rotated the spear, observing how it responded to different applications of force. Each motion revealed more about its nature. The weapon did not resist him. It flowed with his intent, amplifying his actions.

For a brief moment, he considered combining it with his spatial skills.

He imagined using Meld through the spear, channeling his abilities into it.

Then he stopped.

’No, too risky.’ A flicker of caution crossed his mind.

If even a simple strike could cause the Dao Forge to react, then a fully empowered technique might damage the realm itself. This was not a risk he was willing to take.

He lowered the spear and turned to the elders.

"It works," he said.

They nodded, their expressions filled with both satisfaction and anticipation.

Now they had confirmation.

But before proceeding, they needed a proper plan.

The next phase required careful consideration, and none of them wished to act without clarity. They gathered once more, discussing the structure of the final weapon, the method of assembly, and the limitations of their current approach.
