Chapter 3292: Leaving The Silent Lotus World
Daoist Chu stood and stretched, his voice calm yet pleased. "Then it’s settled. We’ll leave once preparations are done. I’ll handle the route and gather the necessary permissions."
Elyon nodded. "I’ll check the current mercenary listings and see which ones align with our path."
Cattaleya smirked. "I’ll pack some ’special’ supplies. Just in case we need to have some extra fun on the way."
Monk Hushu smiled faintly and began chanting softly, "Amitabha. May this journey bring peace rather than chaos for you all."
Lin Mu already knew that Monk Hushu won’t be joining them on this journey as he had his duties in the temple. He didn’t mind it and hoped the monk could continue to grow stronger.
Lin Mu looked around at them; his friends, his companions, the people who had shared every hardship and victory with him. The thought of traveling with them again brought a quiet excitement to his heart.
For years, he had been bound to stillness. Now, the road called once more.
And this time, it led east, toward mystery, danger, and perhaps another Chapter of fate waiting to unfold.
A week passed quietly as preparations for the journey reached completion.
The days were filled with the calm rhythm of farewells and the sound of wind sweeping over the Silent Lotus Temple’s marble courtyards. Lin Mu spent much of this time with his companions, finalizing supplies, testing the Mobile Courtyard’s formations, and ensuring that everyone was ready for the long journey across realms.
The monks of the Silent Lotus Temple gathered at dawn on the final day, their chants echoing across the mountain valleys. In the center of the temple stood the great inter-world teleportation array, carved from pure jade and reinforced with runes that shimmered in golden light.
This was a special array that was almost always kept sealed and another was used in the city nearby. But today for Lin Mu’s departure, it had been unlocked.
The Abbot and Monk Hushu stood at its edge, both wearing solemn yet peaceful expressions.
"May the Buddha watch over your steps, Lin Mu," the Abbot said, his tone filled with calm authority and kindness. "You have done more for this world than anyone could ask. The Silent Lotus Temple shall always have a place for you, should you ever wish to return."
Lin Mu bowed deeply, his hands clasped in respect. "I am grateful, Abbot. This temple has been my home for many years. I’ll never forget the peace it gave me."
The Abbot nodded, then added, "Remember this, Lin Mu. If ever you face something greater than your strength, if the heavens themselves turn against you, go to the nearest Buddhist sanctuary and reveal the White Jade Ruyi I gave you. Any Buddhist power will aid you without question. It is a promise made under the Great Oath of Compassion."
Lin Mu looked down at the jade Ruyi in his hand, the sacred artifact glimmering faintly under the morning light.
He nodded solemnly. "I’ll remember, though I hope it won’t come to that."
Monk Hushu smiled gently. "Whether you seek peace or battle, Amitabha shall light your path."
Lin Mu gave a final look at the two monks, teachers, friends, and allies, before stepping onto the teleportation circle.
His companions joined him one by one: Daoist Chu with a calm smile, Cattaleya humming a cheerful tune, Elyon is his dark robes, Meng Bai standing tall with renewed pride, and the beasts radiating anticipation.
"Until we meet again," the Abbot said.
"Until we meet again," Lin Mu replied.
SHUA
The teleportation array flared to life, the golden runes swirling and lifting them into a column of radiant light. In an instant, the world dissolved around them.
Weightlessness embraced them as the light faded into endless darkness. They were now within the inter-world teleportation channel, a vast corridor connecting distant locations. The sensation of movement was strange yet familiar, as though the universe itself were flowing past them.
To make the long journey comfortable, Lin Mu brought out his mobile courtyard. Over the past few days, he had spent time refining it, expanding its structural formation and enhancing the spatial stability to withstand the strain of teleportation.
As it unfolded in the void, the floating structure shimmered into existence. Elegant bamboo walkways stretched outward, with polished marble floors and a shimmering barrier that shielded them from the turbulent flow of spatial currents.
Cattaleya gave a low whistle as she stepped inside. "Well now, this is impressive. I’ve never traveled in such comfort before. Most teleportations are cramped and nauseating as you float aimlessly. But this feels like a flying villa."
"Wow! You upgraded it so much, master!" Meng Bai nodded in excitement. "This makes cultivation a lot easier. We can use the time productively instead of just waiting."
Daoist Chu chuckled. "Enjoy it while you can. The first jump isn’t long, only a few days. But after that, the journey through the Western Immortal Court’s networks will take several months in total."
Elyon, checking the map projections hovering over his palm, added, "The main base of the Western Immortal Court is relatively close by, at least compared to the distance we’ll have to travel later. Crossing from the Western to the Eastern Immortal Court could take years."
Lin Mu smiled faintly, settling down near the courtyard railing. "The journey matters as much as the destination. I’ve waited long enough for peace, I don’t mind taking my time on the road again."
Everyone soon busied themselves with their preferred tasks.
Meng Bai practiced his formations under Daoist Chu’s supervision, carving patterns into thin jade slips and testing their energy flow. Elyon sat in a quiet corner surrounded by stacks of documents, analyzing intelligence reports and selecting which mercenary missions would best fit their route.
Cattaleya trained with her weapons, her sharp strikes echoing faintly through the courtyard, while Lin Mu cultivated near the edge, his chants resonating through the air like calming waves.
Time flowed gently. Three days passed within the tranquil rhythm of the void.
Then, as Lin Mu sat in meditation, he felt something stir deep within his mind... a faint ripple, like a whisper through still water.
His heart skipped a beat.
