Chapter 3288: Lin Mu’s Recovery And Meng Bai’s Dao Embryo

Chapter 3288: Lin Mu’s Recovery And Meng Bai’s Dao Embryo

"Revered one, you have returned!" they cried, their voices echoing through the temple grounds.

The Abbot was the first to approach, his eyes wet with emotion. "Amitabha... The heavens are merciful. Welcome home, Lin Mu."

Lin Mu smiled humbly. "It is good to see you again, Abbot."

The news spread swiftly, carried by monks, messengers, and spiritual birds. Within a day, every sect, clan, and empire in the Silent Lotus World knew that Lin Mu; their savior, the one who had slain the Ephemera Tree had fully recovered.

An entire week of celebration was declared. Cities held festivals, sects lit lanterns, and even the reclusive Immortal clans sent tributes to the Silent Lotus Temple. The temple itself became the heart of festivity.

A grand banquet was arranged on the third day. Tables carved from white jade stretched across the temple’s inner courtyard, and immortal lights floated like stars above them.

Lin Mu’s companions all gathered there.

The Abbot, the Saintess, the Lotus Spirit, Daoist Chu, Meng Bai, Elyon, Cattaleya, Monk Hushu, and many others took their places. Even the mighty Patriarch of the Xian Sword Sect, Grand Elder Huo, the Darkhan Emperor, and the Elder Ice Drake attended, their presence adding weight to the occasion.

For many, it felt like a reunion after lifetimes.

The Abbot raised his cup of tea first. "To the man who brought peace to our world," he said solemnly. "And to the years of quiet that his sacrifice has granted us."

Everyone toasted, their cups shimmering with immortal wine.

Lin Mu, smiling modestly, replied, "Peace was never mine alone to create. Each of you carried it forward while I slept."

The laughter and conversation that followed filled the night, echoing against the temple’s ancient stones.

After the banquet, Lin Mu spent several days reacquainting himself with the temple and his friends. Though his Qi cultivation was stable now, his body cultivation still had not returned to full strength.

He trained daily under the supervision of the Lotus Spirit and the Saintess, slowly rebuilding the harmony between his physical form and spiritual essence.

During one of these quiet mornings, Meng Bai approached him. The young man bowed respectfully, though his posture carried the confidence of someone who had grown far stronger.

"You’ve improved," Lin Mu said immediately, sensing the change in his aura.

Meng Bai smiled slightly. "I’ve been training hard. You told me once to keep striving, and I did."

Lin Mu nodded approvingly. "Show me."

Meng Bai raised his hand, summoning his Qi.

The air behind him shimmered, and a watery sphere materialized, his Dao Shell. Within it floated what looked like a small pool of inky black liquid, swirling with quiet depth.

Lin Mu blinked in surprise. "This... is a Water Dao Embryo?"

"Yes," Meng Bai said, lowering his hand slightly. "The One Yin Ink Sea Water Dao Embryo."

"But I thought you were aiming to form a Formation Dao Embryo," Lin Mu asked, puzzled.

Meng Bai nodded, his tone thoughtful. "I was. I tried many times. But none of the Dao Embryos that responded to me felt right. They all seemed lacking. I wanted something perfect... something truly unique.

Daoist Chu said I might be developing an obsession, so he advised me to create another Dao Embryo in the meantime, one that could complement formation work."

Daoist Chu, who had been standing nearby, chuckled softly. "He was stubborn as a mountain. If I hadn’t intervened, he might still be waiting for the heavens to forge the perfect embryo for him."

Lin Mu laughed quietly, but his gaze on Meng Bai was approving. "The One Yin Ink Sea... It’s a wise choice. Water and formation complement each other well. You made the right decision."

Meng Bai’s expression brightened. "Thank you, Master. I’ll keep striving until I find the Formation Dao Embryo I’ve been seeking."

"Good," Lin Mu said firmly. "When you find it, it will be stronger for your patience."

Days continued to flow quietly after that. Lin Mu’s body cultivation, once slow to return, finally began to flourish again. His bones grew denser, his Qi resonated with his physique, and the strength that had once defined him came back stronger than before.

Eight years had passed since the fall of the Ephemera Tree.

By now, Lin Mu’s recovery was complete. His Qi flowed like rivers of light, his body pulsed with vitality, and his immortal sense extended effortlessly across the temple’s vast grounds.

He had lived ninety-three years, though he looked no older than a man in his twenties.

Standing at the highest terrace of the Silent Lotus Temple, Lin Mu gazed at the horizon, the same horizon he had once fought beneath. The world below was peaceful, the air pure, and for the first time in a long while, there was no shadow looming over it.

He closed his eyes, inhaled deeply, and let a small, content smile appear on his face.

Peace, at last, had become something real.

A few weeks passed quietly after Lin Mu had completely recovered his strength.

He spent that time methodically testing every part of his body and cultivation, ensuring that there were no hidden flaws.

Day by day, he practiced his breathing techniques, circulated his Qi through his meridians, and tested his physical strength against the ancient training grounds that were spread in the Silent Lotus Temple.

Each strike, each burst of movement, reassured him that his recovery was genuine.

His body cultivation was steady, his Qi cultivation stable, and his physique as durable as it had ever been. Even the Omnicore Ascendancy, the unique cultivation system that formed elemental cores, was functioning perfectly.

When he sat cross-legged and allowed his consciousness to drift into his body, he saw all seven of his cores pulsing with the same steady rhythm they had before the battle.

Yet, something nagged at him.

No matter how closely he looked, none of his cores had changed. There were no new effects marks, no irregular fluctuations, no signs of advancement or degradation. It was as though nothing had happened.

That was what troubled him most.
