Walker Of The Worlds

Chapter 3280: Watching As He Slumbers

Chapter 3280: Watching As He Slumbers

Winter came and went.

Spring showed its beauty before giving way to the brilliance of summer, which too rested to let the amber awe of autumn appear.

The cycle continued several times as the Silent Lotus World slowly recovered from the great war that had shaken its foundations.

Many had perished in that battle, yet countless more had been saved... all because of the sacrifice of one man.

Lin Mu.

His name was now spoken daily by all those who lived within the Silent Lotus World.

Songs were sung, statues raised, and children were taught that it was Lin Mu who had saved them all. The survivors of that dreadful war spread his name far and wide, letting every corner of the realm know the identity of the man who had paid the price for their lives.

They were deeply grateful, praying every day for his health and recovery.

And so they waited as days turned to months, and months to years.

In the Silent Lotus Temple, hundreds of monks gathered daily at the base of a mountain that had been forever changed.

It was once known as the Eight Herb Peak, where medicinal herbs grew in abundance to serve the temple’s needs. But when Lin Mu had earned the blessing of the Green Urim Lotus Spirit, the mountain itself had been transformed. Its name was changed to the Green Urim Peak, now declared the Sacred Ground of the Silent Lotus Temple.

No ordinary soul was allowed to step upon it.

Yet, even from the foothills, one could hear the faint chants of hundreds of monks sitting cross-legged in prayer, their golden mantras resonating across the land. They prayed for one man... the hero who slumbered at the mountain’s summit.

At the very top, the sight was nothing short of divine.

A wonderland of clouds swirled around the peak, tinged with hues of emerald and gold. At the center of this tranquil paradise bloomed a giant green lotus, radiant and alive, the Green-Petaled Urim Lotus, the very same spirit that had once blessed Lin Mu.

And resting within its heart, surrounded by flowing vitality and serenity, lay Lin Mu himself.

He slept peacefully, his body faintly illuminated by emerald light. Each breath he drew was long and steady, rippling through the lotus petals that cradled him. Streams of vibrant green energy flowed through the air, wrapping around him like silk ribbons.

Every wisp of that energy carried the power of life and healing: the pure essence of the Urim Lotus Spirit.

SHUA.

The clouds stirred.

A figure materialized amidst the mist, stepping gracefully onto the petals. She was draped in long robes woven from clouds themselves, her face hidden beneath a soft hood. Beneath the hood, however, a pair of glowing emerald eyes shimmered, slit like those of a heavenly serpent.

The Saintess.

"Has there been any change?" her calm voice drifted through the air.

HUMMMM.

The lotus pulsed gently, and from one of its petals, a figure emerged; ethereal, beautiful, and radiant with divine light. Her skin glowed faintly with green luminescence, her hair flowed like liquid jade, and every movement she made caused petals of light to bloom around her.

It was the Lotus Spirit herself.

"He’s the same as yesterday," the spirit said softly, looking at Lin Mu with a smile that carried both affection and sorrow. "But compared to last month, his vitality has improved. Slowly, but surely."

The Saintess nodded. "That’s good. Hopefully, he will awaken soon."

The Lotus Spirit turned her gaze to Lin Mu again, her expression serene yet filled with quiet determination. "Don’t worry, Saintess. He’s strong. He’ll recover. I will take care of him for as long as it takes... even if that means centuries."

"Thank you, Lotus Spirit." The Saintess bowed her head slightly, her voice carrying genuine gratitude.

"It’s the least I can do for him," the Lotus Spirit replied gently. "If not for this child, the Ephemera Tree would have drained this entire world dry... Even I would have perished along with it."

Her tone grew somber, the faint shimmer of her form dimming momentarily.

Even though she was a Transcendent being, her power had been nothing compared to that monstrous tree. Bound to her sacred lotus, she had been unable to move freely during the crisis, her strength limited to the confines of her domain.

The Saintess, too, understood this.

She looked out at the horizon, where the sun touched the misty edges of the clouds, and spoke softly. "Indeed... the power of that creature was beyond mortal comprehension. Perhaps far beyond what should exist in this realm."

Her tone was distant, reflective.

Being a Celestial herself, she knew far too well the danger that the Ephemera Tree posed.

In the Celestial Realm, she could have erased it with ease, but here, within the Immortal World, the tree’s home where its roots and existence were intertwined with the bowels of the world itself was not something that was possible.

Destroying it required something that even she could not easily provide.

That was why she had brought Lin Mu here.

Though her healing abilities were formidable, they were not her greatest strength. Her Celestial Qi was exhausted, and restoring it would take years to be potent enough. So, she turned to one who embodied life and healing in its purest form: the Lotus Spirit of the Green-Petaled Urim Lotus.

The Lotus Spirit had accepted without hesitation, manifesting her physical form and using her divine lotus to envelop Lin Mu, nourishing his body with unending vitality.

Still, his condition puzzled even her.

Lin Mu’s body had healed swiftly; his external wounds had closed within a single day under her care. His physique was intact, his soul untouched by darkness, and yet... he would not wake.

The Saintess had pondered this deeply. She knew the Xian Sword Spirit was no ordinary weapon. She now knew it was a Celestial artifact, a living embodiment of divine sword intent forged beyond the Immortal realm.

To summon it, even once, required defying the very laws of the Heavens.
