Yun Jianyue’s eyes lit up. “As expected of the disciple I raised. You had the same thought as me!”

Qiu Honglei was surprised. “You also thought of that, master?”

Yun Jianyue nodded awkwardly. “I couldn’t stand the thought of being mocked by that ice sculpture for the rest of my life, so I thought I’d make her like me. Neither of us can mock the other then. I didn’t think that deeply into it, but I guess it’d indeed be more embarrassing for them.”

Qiu Honglei was enthused. “Master, how’s your progress?”

Yun Jianyue frowned. “My gut feeling tells me something is off about that ice sculpture and Ah Zu, but I can’t put my finger on it.”

“Tell me about it. What feels off?” Qiu Honglei asked with widened eyes.

Yun Jianyue shared the earlier incident, especially how unnatural Yan Xuehen looked when she returned to her body. “Their explanation made sense, but something seems to be off.”

Qiu Honglei nodded in agreement. “Indeed. How can Ah Zu not be tempted by someone as beautiful as Sect Master Yan? I didn’t think about it back then, but if he dares to touch even you, master, what else would he dare not do?”

Yun Jianyue’s eyebrows shot up. “You lass! You’re making fun of me!”

Qiu Honglei hugged her arm and coyly replied, “Master, I’m just stating facts here. Don’t take it to heart.”

Yun Jianyue continued, “Ah Zu has always been fearless and brazen. It is indeed likely for him to have made a move on that ice sculpture. But I've known that ice sculpture for many years. She isn’t the type who would get involved with her disciple’s man...”

Qiu Honglei grudgingly murmured, “Master, are you conceding that you’re inferior to Sect Master Yan in that aspect?”

Yun Jianyue harrumphed. “You said it yourself. We’re the Devil Sect’s demonesses. It’s more like us to be daring in that regard. How can you say I’m inferior to her?”

“Master, you've finally regained your usual flair.” Qiu Honglei chuckled as she leaned against Yun Jianyue and enjoyed the warmth they shared. This isn’t that bad either. I can be with master forever, and we can work together to deal with love rivals too.

“Honglei, what should we do to make that ice sculpture accept Ah Zu?” Yun Jianyue was vexed. She'd harbored that intention for a long time now, but she hadn’t found a way to achieve that.

“Shall we work together to knock out Sect Master Yan, strip her bare, and put her on Ah Zu’s bed? I don’t believe Ah Zu can hold himself back.” Qiu Honglei’s eyes twinkled.

Yun Jianyue looked at her disciple with a frown. She’s even more extreme than me.

Yun Jianyue knew what he was getting at, so she let out a sigh and said, “Honglei is still angry at me.”

Zu An gently comforted her. “It can’t be helped. You’re more than a master to her, and such a thing happened. Don’t worry too much. She just needs time for her feelings to settle down.”

Yun Jianyue was secretly delighted. She was probing Zu An to see if he had eavesdropped on their conversation, and it seemed the latter hadn’t. This made things easier for her. She said, “I’m thinking of staying here to accompany Honglei. Is that fine with you, regent?”

Qiu Honglei saw her master returning and initially thought their secret ploy had been exposed. She only breathed a sigh of relief afterward, upon learning that wasn’t the case.

“Shouldn’t we call the ice sculpture here to listen too?” Yun Jianyue asked.

Zu An shook his head. “I’ve already shared it with her on our way to the Netherworld.” I doubt the shy Yan Xuehen is in the mood to meet anyone after what happened earlier.

“You must have chatted a lot on the way,” Yun Jianyue replied with a tinge of jealousy.

Black Jing Teng asked, “Big sister, could there be something between Ah Zu and that Yan woman?”

White Jing Teng telepathically replied with a graceful smile, “It doesn’t matter. We’ll just watch the show.”

Yun Jianyue and Qiu Honglei were initially distracted, as they were busy considering how to scheme against Yan Xuehen, but their attention was soon drawn to Zu An’s story. Even though he had returned safe and sound, their hearts still thumped anxiously when they heard about his close shaves. In particular, they were shocked when they learned about universal deities.

Yun Jianyue remarked, “Actually, I sensed a powerful will summoning me a while back. I don’t know if it was one of the universal deities you talked about.”
