Infinite Mana In The Apocalypse

Chapter 4473: Pathos I

Chapter 4473: Pathos I

In the Early Veiled Shore.

Riya emerged from the Crimson Hunger Sovereign Spire with a smile, waving goodbye to others who remained inside with a cheerful gesture that suggested nothing was amiss.

But when she turned to look out toward the Early Veiled Shore itself...

Her smile transformed into something melancholic.

Something hollow.

Her radiant figure was surrounded by blue-gold Mana at this moment, her fair skin visible beneath the concentrated authority that wrapped around her like second skin.

Faint crimson tattoos could barely be perceived on her arms, intricate patterns that pulsed with dormant power.

She had released her fused Primus Inevitability to roam with others near Khor for now. Her Civilization Specialization form was in inactive state...The Hungering Maw transformation reduced to those barely visible crimson markings.

At this moment, she moved across the golden sands with a gaze carrying melancholy she never showed others.

Because the others don’t need to know.

They don’t need to carry this burden alongside me.

She closed her eyes as she sensed that brilliant anchor...that sun which constantly emitted calming heat despite everything else in existence growing cold.

She took a step with natural instinct guiding her toward it.

When she opened her eyes again, she found herself in field of green-gold verdant grasses stretching impossibly tall around her.

She observed the figure of Noah watching an illusory screen displaying some recovered scenes. Heidrun, Yoshinami, and Malphas were present in the surroundings...each processing whatever information was being revealed.

Riya looked at the scene unfolding on the screen.

She saw a woman surrounded by swirling emotions seated on elaborate throne, talking vibrantly to another entity opposite her who was surrounded by terrifying elemental waves of concentrated brilliance.

On the screen, the visage of Malphas could be observed as he carried ornate jug filled with vibrant Civilizational Everythings of Origin. He was approaching to refill the cup of THE Living Emotive who motioned for him impatiently as her vessel had emptied.

THE Living Emotive’s voice emerged with enthusiasm.

"So entry into THE Loom isn’t going to be available for everyone who desires it. THE Living Existences have to pay to secure access, alongside however many Early Creatures, Living Existences, and even lesser Fold Dwellers you wish to bring with your Civilization. Each individual requires ticket to board this grand ride. And-"

...!

As THE Living Emotive spoke with mounting excitement, her terrifying power leaked outward slightly.

The pressure was so immense that Malphas, who was in the process of pouring the liquid Everythings into her cup, trembled violently and stumbled from the overwhelming authority.

The jug tilted too far.

Liquid Everythings gushed out uncontrolled and splashed directly onto THE Living Emotive’s hand!

...!

The moment such accident occurred, the entire atmosphere changed.

The air became heavy.

Malphas trembled while attempting to bow in immediate apology, but before he could articulate words-

"You fucking insect."

...!

The words from THE Living Emotive carried such weight that surrounding reality distorted visibly.

In the next moment, she dropped her cup deliberately. It fell to the cloudy surface with resonant sound.

Her voice emerged with cold authority.

"Pick it up."

Malphas trembled as he moved to obey...descending to retrieve the fallen vessel. The other maid and butler servants behind him watched with visibly shaking eyes as tension mounted.

The moment Malphas bent to grasp the cup...

THE Living Emotive’s hand shot out with vicious speed, grabbing Malphas’s head and smashing it against the cloudy surface!

She then used her leg to keep his face pressed firmly to the ground- applying steady pressure that prevented any movement.

Her words emerged with twisted satisfaction.

"While I am conducting such important strategic discussions with an esteemed colleague, you make a mistake? You tasteless void of emotion. How exactly did that make you feel? Can you even comprehend the shame you should be experiencing right now?"

Malphas trembled while his face was being pushed down with increasing force.

"I... I beg for your forgiveness, Miss. I did not mean to cause offense or disruption..."

"No. You never mean to."

Her voice dripped with contempt.

"You lack the vibrant spectrum of emotions. You are tasteless. Gray. Cheap, watery sentiment that can be easily consumed if it makes mistakes. So don’t make mistakes. Understood?"

...!

Malphas’s reply emerged as broken whisper.

"Yes, Miss. I understand completely. It will not occur again."

"Stay down there for now and reflect properly on your failure."

THE Living Emotive’s face twisted into disturbing smile as she waved her fingers with a casual motion.

From Malphas’s prostrate body, she systematically harvested the emotions and Everythings he was generating...misery, fear, despair, shame...all the concentrated negative sentiments produced by his humiliation

By her purposeful insults!

She caused them to flow directly into her mouth.

She swallowed them with visible pleasure while licking her lips appreciatively.

Opposite her, THE Living Elemental displayed an expression of profound disgust. He shook his head with barely contained revulsion.

"Must you engage in such treatment toward your own people? This seems... excessive."

THE Living Emotive’s eyes flashed dangerously as she sneered.

"Are you actually presuming to instruct me on how to conduct my Way of Existence? My Way is The Way of Emotions. The Way of Feelings. Misery, despair, fear...all the negative emotions are most prevalent across existence. Most potent. Most delicious."

Her foot twisted on Malphas’s head as she continued.

"I occasionally share my own accumulated misery and negativity with this insect and others like them. Then I systematically wipe their memories clean and start the cycle again. Even now, this one and those servants observing will remember nothing of this encounter. This is my Way. Don’t fucking insult it."

Her voice intensified.

"I don’t tell you how your fire or ice should manifest, do I? Oh, now you’ve gotten me genuinely heated..."

THE Living Elemental’s expression became even more sour. In his eyes flickered emotion suggesting he hated dealing with Emotive above all other entities. As if she was extraordinarily difficult to manage and all recognized this fact.
