Chapter 4413: Never Meet Your Heroes II
Not too far from the farm where Noah had left Elyndra standing in contemplative solitude, existence folded upon itself with purposeful precision as his form materialized in different location entirely.
He appeared before The First Farmer, who was engaged in discourse with several Fold Dwellers.. each entity pulsing with authority measuring multiple Quintillions in accumulated power.
Noah gazed at the assembly with calm, his presence causing immediate shift in atmosphere despite making no overtly threatening gesture.
The surrounding Fold Dwellers turned toward this unexpected arrival alongside The First Farmer, whose eyebrows raised with mixture of surprise at the interruption.
"What is it?" The First Farmer asked.
Noah didn’t reply with words.
Instead, he waved his hand with a gesture that belied the authority channeling through the motion, releasing faint pulse of blue-gold Primus Mana Haki...not the crushing weight he could exert at maximum capacity, but a small measured application of Civilizational pressure.
The brilliance flashed outward in expanding sphere, blue and gold light descending upon the surrounding Fold Dwellers like judgment rendered without trial or appeal.
And the multiple entities possessing Quintillions in Complexity and Purity simply...stopped.
Consciousness fled their existences like startled birds taking flight, leaving only empty vessels frozen exactly where they had been standing.
They were not collapsed or damaged, merely suppressed, their awareness forcibly removed from operational state through overwhelming disparity in civilizational authority.
Oh!
Beings with multiple Quintillions in accumulated essence, caused to lose their very consciousness by mere wave of his hand and controlled release of his Haki.
It was a maddening scene to see as The First Farmer alone was spared.
After achieving this instantaneous suppression, Noah spoke with voice carrying quiet finality.
"Let us talk. Privately."
He waved his hand once more, and brilliant blue-gold light erupted from beneath, wrapping around his feet and The First Farmer’s simultaneously.
The radiance lifted both figures skyward with irresistible force, ascending toward distant heights where perspective would shift and truth might emerge more clearly.
The First Farmer frowned deeply as he looked toward Noah with expression mixing confusion and dawning apprehension, but Noah did not return that gaze.
Instead, he simply activated The Lens of Civilization while looking ahead, his Primus Mana carrying them far into the distant skies.
From this elevated vantage, they could observe the potential Civilization this Sanctuary could have become...seeing it whole rather than fragmented, understanding what might have been if different choices had been made at critical junctures.
Prompts bloomed before Noah’s vision with revelatory clarity.
LENS OF CIVILIZATION - INNER TRUTH ANALYSIS
SUBJECT: The First Farmer
SURFACE EMOTION: Confusion mixed with wariness
DEEPER STATE: Profound despondency accumulated across eons of failure
CORE BELIEF: "Failure follows my entire existence like loyal companion. Every triumph transforms into catastrophe. Every foundation crumbles beneath weight of circumstance. If only I possessed Perpetual Harvest, the key to properly forging Civilization, I could transform this stagnant Sanctuary into something magnificent. I could finally succeed where I have perpetually failed."
FOREMOST THOUGHT: "Why has Osmont brought me here? Did he become suspicious? Does he know? No... impossible. Only Elyndra and I understand the plan. She couldn’t have revealed anything. Could she?"
DEEPEST TRUTH: Ormordnes. Desperation masquerading as strategy, failure internalized until it became identity rather than circumstance
...!
Noah observed the information flowing from The Lens with detachment, processing psychological landscape of the being beside him.
He couldn’t help but shake his head slowly, the gesture mixing disappointment with something approaching pity.
The two of them floated in elevated skies, gazing down upon many plots of farmland stretching across impossible distances.
Gloriously massive Trees representing Principles rose at intervals throughout the Sanctuary, their branches heavy with conceptual wonder.
Scattered numbers of Fold Dwellers and other Living Existences moved across the landscape below, tending to their duties with practiced efficiency.
Noah looked at this weaving- at what existed versus what could have been, and began speaking.
"I looked up to The First Farmer once. Resepcted the being who moved against impossible odds, who dedicated his entire existence toward defending those unable to defend themselves. The First Farmer faced Living Existences, Inevitabilities, and Early Creatures alike without flinching. He was so extraordinarily pristine in his dedication that he even cultivated and nurtured Principles when they were things only Early Creatures had access to."
Noah’s gaze remained fixed on distant horizon.
"I even encountered such a being in the Earliest Folds, where he saved me from circumstances that might have proven catastrophic. He even bestowed upon me his failed Seed of a Principle...sharing his disappointment as gift rather than burden. What a magnificent being that was. What an existence worthy of admiration and emulation."
His voice dropped slightly, carrying different weight.
"When... did you become merely a hollow shell of that being?"
BOOM!
Noah’s words emerged calmly, but they detonated like existential bomb the moment those final syllables concluded.
The figure of The First Farmer trembled as if struck by physical force, his already sickly appearance deteriorating further.
His complexion, which had possessed faint greenish pallor, seemed to become even more diseased at this moment.
He stumbled despite standing on solid platform of Primus Mana, legs failing to support weight that had become suddenly unbearable.
He stopped attempting to maintain standing posture, his figure weakly settling into seated position on the blue-gold platform Noah had manifested.
His gaze became haggard as comprehension dawned regarding exactly why Noah would voice such devastating assessment.
In the next moment, The First Farmer spoke with a voice mixing shock and desperate calculation.
"How did you discover the plan? Only my daughter and I possess knowledge of what was intended... she couldn’t have revealed anything. Could she?"
Noah looked at this figure attempting to determine how they had arrived at this confrontation, seeking to identify leak in security rather than contemplating any positive interpretation of circumstances!
Oh!
Still trying to find angle, still searching for mechanism to salvage situation through cunning rather than honesty.
He shook his head with gesture of utter, magisterial finality.
"Does it truly matter how I discovered your intentions? The more pertinent question is: when did that grand existence who opposed the unfairness Fold Dwellers faced systematically...when did he die? Was he truly extinguished when THE Living Emotive collapsed all your accumulated power? Or did that supposedly magnificent being never genuinely exist, and this compromised version represents what you have always been beneath surface pretense?"
...!
At Noah’s words, The First Farmer experienced violent coughing fit, body convulsing with force that showed internal structures failing catastrophically.
His eyes flashed with light mixing immensity and profound unwillingness to accept what was being articulated.
When he spoke, his voice held immensity and weight that wished to express all of its grievences all at once!
"Why does corruption always seem to triumph across existence’s infinite expanse? Those with highest kill counts, those who cheat and deceive without remorse, those who betray trust as casually as breathing...they perpetually seem so much further ahead in every measurable metric."
"Meanwhile, those who are supposedly good, those who conduct themselves according to principles and established ethics...they are massacred systematically. They are violated without mercy. They die without even comprehending why their adherence to righteousness brought only suffering."
