"A tribe of Undead Dragons?!" Hao Xuan's brow shot up in astonishment.
Jin Wang shook his head, "No, not just "a" tribe, THE tribe of Undead Dragons. There has only ever been one and will be for all of eternity. It's not a tribe in the same sense as what you know. It's not like they all just live in the same plot of land or something. Anyways, it's hard to explain, and now isn't the right time for that either."
"The point is, they are undead creatures that think of all living creatures as insignificant. If these dumbasses actually do worship 'Ra', then they aren't really right in the head."
Hao Xuan let out a deep sigh.
"That's easier said than done. The only way out of here is the way we came in, and even if we get out we have no idea where to go. How are we gonna just leave?" he looked at Jin Wang with a tinge of hope.
Jin Wang looked around with squinted eyes and then shrugged.
"Shit, you got a point. Well, we're fucked then. Might as well go to sleep," he sat down on the bed and took off his shoes while Hao Xuan watched on with mouth agape.
"T-That's it?"
Jin Wang nodded and laid down, making himself comfortable.
"If I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die after a peaceful sleep."
"...."
"What the actual fuck is wrong with you..."
Hao Xuan couldn't tell if Jin Wang was just joking around or he had actually given up. Either way, he wasn't going to just sit back and do nothing.
He walked back out the way they came and found the man that was trying to chat up Buse sitting near the entrance.
"Hello, I was wondering if you could take me to look around the area, show off a few places you know," he said smilingly but the man's face was completely blank.
"Oh, I forgot you don't understand me," he mumbled to himself before closing his eyes and looking through the storage space on the watch. A minute or two fo searching later he finally found what he was looking for.
A round orb about the same size as a tennis ball which was made out of a thick, glass-like material. It was shining with a soft white light that lit up the surroundings as soon as Hao Xuan took it out. There were two cords coming out from either side with three small holes on the end.
The man stared at it with wide-eyes
"Baracus, how well does this thing work now?" he asked the creator of the device.
*Beep*
"I haven't tested it out but it should work as intended. It is sound in theory and the technology is already available, I just don't have access to it in this place."
"Alright, we'll see I guess," Hao Xuan said lightly and looked at the man with a gentle smile.
"Do you like it? This is for you," he extended his right hand which held one of the cords.
The man, naturally, seemed hesitant at first but after a few seconds of contemplation his curiosity got the better of him and he grabbed it from Hao Xuan.
Hao Xuan then took the other cord and placed at the back of his head and gestured the man to do the same, "Like this like this, put it right there," he pointed at the nape of his neck.
"Huh?" the man obviously had no idea what was gonna happen but mimicking Hao Xuan's actions, he did the same. As soon as the cord touched his skin it came alive like a snake.
Three sharp needles at least 4 inches long shot out from the holes at the end of the cord and before the man could even react, broke through his skin, his flesh, the bones, and then directly pierced his brain.
His eyes went completely white and his body went limp. Hao Xuan swiftly moved forward and grabbed his giant body and gently placed him on his side.
"Dear God, and you mean to tell me this is NORMAL? This is how the other one operates too?" he almost shouted.
"Of course not. But I didn't have the required materials to make the real thing. Anyways, it will get the job done. Good luck," Baracus replied and went into observation mode.
This device he had created was modeled after something called "The Educator." It was a tool that was quite commonly used in most of the higher-ranked Kingdoms.
Its sole purpose was to connect two minds together and help them understand each other. If it worked out as intended, by the end Hao Xuan would know all basic information about this man including his language. All that information would be extracted from the man's brain and copied over to his.
He sighed looking at the cord in his hand.
'Why does it always come back to god d*mn needles...'
With a deep breath, he quickly placed it behind his head before he could overthink it and change his mind. The same happened and the needles pierced directly into his brain.
Time passed by rather slowly.
His and the man's body laid out in the open for all to see. The small orb that was previously shining with a white light now became dim. A blue haze entered from the right cord, swirled around a few times, and went into the left one.
*GASP*
Hao Xuan opened his eyes. With gritted teeth, he forcefully pulled out the cord from his brain.
"STOP! What are you doing?! That could cause permanent damage!" Baracus warned.
"Shut up. This f*cking thing works too god damn well!" Hao Xuan retorted and tried to catch his breath. His heart was beating so loudly that it felt like it was about to explode.
Just a few drops of bleed fell down from the wound before it closed itself within seconds.
"What do you mean?" Baracus inquired. Was his creation not up to the mark?
Hao Xuan didn't answer straight away and walked over to the man and pulled out his cord the proper way, making sure not to hurt him. He then took out a powder that gave off a herbal scent and placed it over his wound which also closed up within a minute.
He then sat down and rubbed his eyes.
"It worked. It showed me everything, and I mean EVERYTHING. Things that he himself probably doesn't remember.. I saw him being born, taking his first steps, using the toilet for the first time, kissing a girl for the first time, and more. I saw everything that was inside his mind!"
